Himalayan Horizons

Our tour of Nepal and India, starting in the famous Dwarika's Hotel in Kathmandu. Also in the Kathmadu Valley we visited Patan then went to the funeral ghats on the Bagmati river, a tributary of the Ganges. We also visited the fascinating city of Bhaktapur.
Then we flew to the Chitwan National Park for a couple of days safari by bullock cart, elephant and boat. Next we drove to Pokhara at the foot of the Himalaya mountains where we saw Fishtail Mountain and the Annapurna range. We had a couple of nights R&R in the peaceful village of Dhulikhel where we walked in the hills.
Next we flew to the Indian border and crossed to Darjeeling to see the tea plantations and ride the narrow gauge steam railway, as well as see Kanchenjunga, the world's third highest mountain.
Finally, we flew to Kolkata and spent a final day in this attractive city, known as the city of trees.
