Apparently Josh Scott left just enough for the rest of us so I was able to film two pedals from JOYO's "R" series. They look cool and have a unique design, but how do they sound?

T.Od- Timmy, Sweety - Mad Professor Sweet Honey, B. Boost - Xotic BB preamp, T808 - tube screamer, Overdrive I - Boss OD-1, Crunchy - MI crunch box, Rioter - Suhr Riot, OC Drive - OCD as far as I can tell. I have a couple of these the Tauren, and Aquarius are my favorites. I have the Baatsin and it’s worth 60$ easily. The atmosphere I’ve never tried, ☹️. Hope this helps. Love your show.
The man = you. Thanks for the breakdown. I have the taichi and I love it -- i didn't know when I bought it but other people have referred to it as a dumbler.
dawangai I was going to get the taichi, but I have the hotone grass, which is also supposed to be a dumble type drive, so I didn’t do it but there’s a part of me that still debates picking it up. Glad you’re enjoying it and thanks
@@grayaj23 i think that is based on the Zen Drive ...which is meant to do a dumbly kind of thing
Sweety = Joyo's own "Sweet Baby" OverDrive. - OC Drive = "Ultimate Drive" Joyo's OCD clone
Thank a ton! Joyo knocked these out the park!
Great Demo Ryan. The only demo that shows what the Atmosphere sounds like with overdrive.
Ryan,, thanks for the demo, what is nice is the fact ,you had taken your time to walk through, the pedal not skipping out on any thing, I like a higher end on petals, so i do think the Baatsin pedal is ok choice , Great video- You showed the pedals features , most people skip out on the tone settings, and selector of the pedals they used , Good THOROUGH Job.
Great demonstration, loved your guitar playing as well!
These are amazing pedals, Joyo is Amazing and You really cannot go wrong. The DF, and Uzi have kicked off AMT, Westminster, and high end Hotone off My board and I have no regrets!
And what a great tool, made it sound Great !
Missed the Premier today...Ryan caught me napping. Watching my own replayed premier now.
baatsin = Eight Drunken Immortals, does that make sense?
Bought the Atmosphere just for the Shimmer setting, love it. The rest of the settings are a bonus.
You can pair it with the Mooer Shim-Verb which also is budget-friendly and you can get nice spacey sounds...
I've been telling people the Atmosphere is worth the money just for the Shimmer.
From The Joyo UK web page on the Baatsin. You generally still need to go and look up the names.
T.OD - Timmy Overdrive a huge range of gritty, textured tones that enhance your rig's sound while preserving its fundamental voice.
Sweety - The Sweet Baby Overdrive a sweet tasting low gain overdrive pedal. It is designed to overdrive distorted amplifiers and give dynamically controlled light overdrive on clean sounds. Made by the Angry Bees.
B Boost - The Boost Overdrive is a beautiful smooth sounding drive/boost pedal that it perfect for giving your tube amp a bit of extra grunt
T808 - We cant do without our 808 style Classic Vintage Overdrive on our board. The pedal has a characteristic mid-boosted tone popular with blues and rock players. The "legendary" Tube Screamer has been used by countless guitarists to create their signature sound, and is one of the most successful, widely copied, and "modded" overdrive pedals in the history of the electric guitar ever !
OverDrive 1 - This overdrive has got Bruce Springsteens nickname all over it. It was the founding yellow pedal of this classic pedal range launched in 1977, its fatter than a typical overdrive but with gain cranked its an excellent distortion .
Crunchy - Its a box of Crunch alright, way more than an overdrive, breaking up gradually into a giant sonic crunching tone of a big classic British amp.
Rioter - it sure is! turning into a versatile high-gain distortion pedal with the sonic characteristics and touch sensitivity of a high quality 100 watt tube
OC Drive - It's a JOYO Ultimate classic everyone just obsesses over.
I absolutely LOVE my Joyo Ultimate Drive... Best OD/Distortion I've ever owned... And I'm assuming since it's a clone of the O.C.D. it'd be similar to the OC Drive... Doesn't have that annoying mid hump, and has MUCH more bass than most ODs...
@@ck2music712 Agree :) own both and prefer the joyo lol can get some serious metal tones.
I have a JOYO NASCAR delay and think it's been great. I agree about the LED, it's cool.
Pulled the trigger on an Atmosphere, simply because it will easily get me 99% there in the "my bloody valentine in a box" sweepstakes.
Double points for using your Jazzmaster for the demo!
Are you happy with it?
does it shoegaze? asking for a friend
@@cpsbBXCX Hell yeah it does. Run it into a big muff for wailing walls of noise. Great cheap reverse reverb, especially when you max out the mod.
Show me your joyo atmosphere setting for mbv sound
Thanks, now I gotta get a Joyo Atmosphere pedal and try it out.
Just got the Bastsin for Xmas. Love the variety on it so far.
Ryan, Joyo makes other lines of pedals that IMO sound great. You could easily build an all-Joyo afford-a-board. The form factors vary and I prefer some of them to others. But I think they all sound good. The slightly larger pedal series that includes the Splinter, the Classic Flanger, Digital Delay, and Classic Chorus is a solid sounding bunch of pedals IMO.
This was such a great video thank you
The Reverb pedal has some good and usable settings. It's all about your sound your trying to get.
Have the atmosphere, it’s my favorite reverb pedal at the moment.
I love it he Surfragettes tshirt. Nice of you to represent this great band.
you need to check out the dark flame distortion, Aquarius delay, and the vol/wah 2 , from joyo
Nice shirt! Love the Surfrajettes!
Id like to see you do a pedal board of your top picks in each category. The best best drippy reverb. The best fuzz. No matter the price. Because i know a lot of pedals get the job done but which ones satisfy you
I'm a fan of the Atmosphere. For the money it's amazing. It's part of my harp/guitar duo's space/psychedelia sound. Every song can have a different texture. Next gig I'll be using mostly the Shimmer and Comet settings, maybe some Forest. It's definitely a pedal to explore, learn and master. Don't expect to read the labels in poor lighting.
Just bought an Atmosphere on eBay, can’t wait to try it out!
I picked up a Tauren last month and it sounds incredible. You should demo this whole series
I'm contemplating getting a Tauren, so a review would be great.

Ryan, You should definitely put the Atmosphere reverb on your Shoegaze board, it sounds dreamy af 🥴
I bet if you open up that green pedal it will have trim pots... you can get that tone knob working.
bit off topic but I love your surfrajettes shirt
I bought thr atmosphere to semi supplement the reverbs on my blackstar and to use it on my fender pawnshop ramparte as it has no reverb.
Got it in combo with the joyo king of kings (the best king of tone clone pedal available)
The tones are buttery sweet on every guitar I own.
Zero regrets here.
Nice shirt! Haven’t heard of the surfrajettes lately...
Awe man. My TS sounds great at home
It's a shame you didn't get hold of the Aquarius Delay - that's lots of fun. It has multiple modes and an inbuilt looper.
You need to review the entire Joyo M Series line of pedals. They look extremely versatile!!!
If you get an opportunity, could you demo the XVI, UZI, Vision, and Cab Box from the same series?
Edit: Im all about that Atmosphere pedal! Those extreme settings were gorgeous

The O.C. Drive is Orange County Drive and is a tribute to those who spend more that half their waking hours in cars. :)
It's a keeper. But, here is a question...joyo king of kings vs joyo baatsin? i have the Joyo Atmosphere and it so versitile. A lot of options.
“It feels like have a sunbath in the Forrest” lmao
thats a nice clear distortion pedal
I love Surfrajettes! You've caught me on this!
Great reviews....
Is there a Pedal that will make the sound of Dire Straits song so far away? That doesn't cost a arm and leg. Thanks
So, the issue with this is that the instrument is not a guitar, but a dobro with a slide. So, unless you play a dobro, probably not. With that said, if you "have" to accomplish it on a guitar, I'd try tuning to dobro tuning (or maybe experiment with using lower octave pedal like a POG). In addition to that, using a slide would be a must, and then add a leslie speaker (rotary speaker) emulator. I have the Big Spender by Danelectro, It works great for the leslie sound. It's like $70. Can probably get it much cheaper used on reverb.com
Some of the sounds you didn't like try them with the trail off, they sound much better 😊
Just got my shipping confirmation from Ali Express today. It'll probably take close to a month to get here, but I'm eagerly awaiting my BAATSIN!
Great vid as always!
How did you like it?
@@Jaysteenn it's great! Lots of different overdrive sounds to play with, although I think I find myself using the 808 most. I have a Joyo Uzi as well, and it really tightens up the sound.
@@CheesePlow Awsome Thanks for the Reply!
That's why the price went up like crazy........ Pulsating light... I WANT ONE!!!! Joyo says Baatsin is analogue......
On the atmosphere, maybe I'm missing something but how do I take advantage of the trails toggle? I don't know how to use it.
잔음이 남는거 아니에용??
Hello nice Video. Joyo Atmosphere vs boss rv6 what would prefet soundqality wise, are they even close?
Boss. Roland have been industry leaders for eons. Use some common sense bro
These are both on sale on Amazon right now
Would love to hear a bass through the atmos
The scientific "secret" of why TubeScreamers sound good LIVE and sound like crap at home? Those are called "mids", lol... For YEARS I always dumped my mids, but now I see them as a "necessary evil" if you wanna be heard through the mix, lol...
¿Para cuándo una demo del Joyo R15?
for when a full demo for the Joyo r15?
Hi sir Ryan your patch cables look awesome what are those??
Hosa Cables.

Just when I was pretty much committed to getting the Behringer reverb, I see this. Now I gotta rethink it!
Matthew Brech which reverb pedal did you decide to get?

Love my Baatsin. 80% of my board is Joyo and they’re stuff is great for the price.
Since there's 8 different settings, I'm guessing "Baatsin" comes from the 8 Drunken Immortals or 8 Taoist gods or Immortals (drunken fist training).
Ian McCutcheon nice, grasshopper...
That was my guess as well
Maybe it's too heathen for Ryan!
Ryan, I just bought a pedal, cmon man ;_; edit: that said, I'd love to hear the Baatsin pushing the Revv
I've had this pedal for a while and like all except the OC Drive. There's something wrong with it (mine, at least). It sounds super muffled even with the tone all the way up. I bought a Joyo Ultimate Drive pedal, which the OC Drive setting is supposed to be., and it sounds *great*, so not sure what's up with the Baatsin OC drive.
Found this on Joyo's website:

I bought the Kmise Ultimate Overdrive from a review Ryan did, it has become my favorite pedal! Those OCD clones are pretty spectacular!
I have two Joyo pedals, the Sweet Baby (an AWESOME boost) and the Moist reverb (it's useable). I have been eyeing the Atmosphere, and appreciate this run-through of features. Thanks.
Can you do an A/B with a pedal that does get you to that full surf thing?
Try a using a parallel frequency splitter.
KMA Machines - Tyler Deluxe
or
EHX - Tri Parallel Mixer
I like the Atmosphere. I could find a use for it. I don't like the Baatsin. Either had too much treble or sounded flat. I reminds me of the "distortion" on the little battery powered amps that come with First Act guitars.
do you have a link for the cable you used to connect the pedals?
its in the description
I bet JOSH knows what TOD stands for!!! Ha ha ha🤣
Funny how you don't know why companies copy the Suhr riot. Then you go on and have the most fun moments hahaha
i just think its funny that its such a common clone in the import pedal game. it seems like every brand as a riot clone.
Did you enjoy the baatsin? looks like a winner to me!!
I only have the aquarius delay and its GREAT.
I was looking for the baatsin/atmosphere and your demo came in perfect time! Thankyou!

id go for the A7 personally
Tod: Tube OverDrive?
Love my Atmosphere reverb pedal. The plate and the shimmer are killer. Turn the trails off in the Shimmer mode dude. The ONLY problem I had was that freekin light in the front was adding a “thump...thump..thump” in Echoverb. Shut it off with the switch on bottom, and problem solved !! The drive being too bright.. the guitar Gods saw it fit to give you a tone control on your guitar 🤷🏻♂️
Omg this comment just saved me from selling this pedal. That noise was annoying, I didn't know there was a switch under my velcro.

Surfrajettes T-Shirt for the win!
Sold me on the Atmosphere but I already own a bunch of Joyo stuff
I got a Baatsin on a trade from a buddy of mine for my Ehx Silencer I never used anyway. It's a cool pedal if you wanna check out drives you've never used before, or have a small amp you wanna take to a jam and not carry many pedals.
The Timmy isn't bad, Sweet honey mode and B.boost are probably my faves, and the T.8 mode just prompted me to buy an East River Drive. Volume isn't great, and the tone stack is all but useless.
Again, fine pedal if you want multi drive types and something easy to toss in the bottom of your combo for impromptu jams, but don't expect them to be real spot on clones of your faves.
Think im gonna replace my Holy Grail Max with the Atmosphere

Man, the guy is making fun out of the equipment. Is that for real?
In most cases, I can sort out the redeeming qualities of a pedal that might be advantageous in some way, in some setting, somewhere. A pedal that might have that one sound where you could say..."sure...why not?"
I can't hear any of that in the Baatsin.
Not in this demo, or any other demo I've heard to date.

You're the man, Ryan. You've helped me immensely, and I love your surfy vibe and enthusiasm for all things groovy... but that may be the ugliest guitar I have ever seen. Is it a tribute to 'the clash'?
