The KTM RC 390, like the Yamaha R3, Ninja 400, etc. is a budget bike with budget non-adjustable suspension, though KTM at least gets the fork rebound correct when new. But more important for the serious rider, with suspension upgrades the RC 390 is a sharper weapon than its competition is when similarly upgraded.

can the bike still be setup even though the compression is at max stiff? with the adjustment of rebound

I have a FZ25 and it starts wobbling above 120km/hr, I tried to increase tire pressures but it didn't help, stock pressure is Front25 and Rear29 and I checked with Front28 and Rear32 which improved stability during cornering but the speed wobble was still there...
Front forks are on level with the top of the triple tree, there is a lot of sag on the front(almost 20-25mm) and rear is on the lowest preload setting whitch helps a bit with the wobble.
It's a non adjustable suspension setup with only preload in the rear......what can I do to fix the wobble ? Please help!

If you softened shock preload and it was better, that indicates that the shock is too stiff potentially. Have you assess shock travel via a little chain lube on the shock shaft? Without that verification, a clear path is a guess. The other factor with softer preload is that your fork oil is far too thin and 15w oil would resolve the issue. Check tire wear as shown in the Contact Patch playlist.

@@CatalystReactionSBW Thanks a lot for the reply, I will change the oil to 15w however the rear shock shaft is enclosed in a tube and can't be lubed and front forks do get compressed to 10mm from completely bottoming out right now.

@@theguycalledturbo Thanks for the additional information Ashish. Shame on the shock. fresh oil should reduce the speed of travel and therefore get you 15-20mm from bottom out to give you the safety margin you need.

Just took my RC390 out to its first track day and had a blast! Dave do you come out to Spring Mountain or Las Vegas Motor Speedway?

I have in the past - how well attended are track days in that region? Do you have suspension vendors present?

@@CatalystReactionSBW I don’t know about Spring Mountian, but Las Vegas Speedway was almost full on Saturday Nov 14th through Apex Assassins. Though they did have a suspension vendor there already.

@@kinker200 If they have a vendor present I am not welcome as a vendor. I can be brought in as a private coach for 4-5 riders from 8am to 5pm. Not sure if there is an interest in that type of service?

Did you completely empty the forks over a 30 minute drain time and only use the stock oil amount, plus check the oil level? If you are not getting full travel, there is too much oil in the fork.

At the track or for suspension set up for road bikes, the fee is $40. If you need online help it is as low as $20.

Litre bikes are fun but 1 gear and you are over the speed limit... and old ZXR250 on the other hand sounds like you are flying but going the same speed as the others.

You can change fork oi and volume, fork springs, fork location. You can also change pressures to meet your needs so there is a lot that you can do. Please visit the Free videos playlist and see what is there that can help you get started on your journey.
