Found your video one year later! Just got an open box from a local PC chain store, and it was only 1,979. They warned me about Dell thermals, but your video made me much more confident in the purchase. Thanks
Was planning on writing this. I can second this. Couldn't keep anything connected via bluetooth. Was about to call Dell when I thought I'd try hooking up the "WIFI Adapter" (or so I thought). Haven't had a bluetooth issue since.
Even proprietary 4090s use the 12VHPWR pin. One would’ve thought that Dell would cut corners by integrating an 8 pin to use their existing PSUs. Instead they went native 12VHPWR route
I would like to see Alienware make some sick looking motherboards and gpus exclusive to their pre-builds. Alienware should look, run and use the best of the best. Builders should look at an Alienware and want to purchase it just to get their hands on the crazy looking components. Yes, yes I know looks don’t equate to performance
the internals are dull af i agree. its always been about showing off the pc internals. you look at the alienware chassis and youre like "oh damn" then look inside it looks like rubbish.
@@RyanYu I doubt it. I read a comment on someone’s page from an engineer from Alienware and he went on and on about the how higher ups basically have the engineers hands tied when it come to innovation. Especially when they have surplus from older builds
@@garretts431 it’s crazy to me how dull it is. I understand wanting an Alienware pc but when you price out components to build it yourself or use a site like Xidax the bang for your buck in performance and aesthetics is leaps and bounds ahead of Alienware. I want to be an Alienware “fanboy” because of the nostalgia I have but they lack in so many areas.
If you are going pre-built, Corsair's PCs IMO are better because no proprietary parts. While this Alienware is better than the last version, I would get a VENGEANCE i7400 Gaming PC, i9-13900K, RTX 4090, 2TB M.2, 64GB DDR5-5600 for 3949.00. Just my thoughts :)
@@monticam1 more than likely isolated events. You’ll find a small percentage of issues with some prebuilt PCs based due to human error etc. Vengeance uses really good components btw. The 4090 is a Founders Edition in the Vengeance and not a custom model.
I purchased the R15 at a great discount, but the space, parts, and how cool the Corsair Vengence i7400 runs are making me question my purchase. I didn't consider a Corsair until I ordered the R15 and I am now impressed with it.
I just got a r15 with 13900kf rtx4090 2tb ssd 32gb 4800mhz ddr5 for 3450 from dell on their summer sale 3743 out the door after taxes seems like a crazy good deal honestly
One of the downsides of Allienware is that there are basically no extra slots for video capture cards or even a sound card. There isn’t enough space between the graphics card and bracket l.
I just picked one of these up for $3500. Dell was having a sale. This is my first pre-built, this video helped me just day f it and try it out. The price was right.
I just got delivery of mine 2 days ago and it amazing and is replacing my old rig with a 3090 and i can see performance differences in 4K 120 hz gaming
@@RyanYu yep, its R13 with these specs 12th Gen Intel Core i7 12700KF (12-Core, 25MB Cache, 3.6GHz to 5GHz w/Turbo Boost Max 3.0) NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 10GB GDDR6X LHR 32GB Dual Channel DDR5 at 4400MHz; up to 128GB 4TB NVMe M.2 PCIe SSD Dark Side of the Moon its working great, same as the day i bought it, came with win 11 pre installed, i was actually amazed how well everything worked.
I just ordered mine with the same specs big upgrade replacing my old 2016 area 51 alienware I can't wait they defiantly improved the air flow on this and thermals.
Hey there Ryan. Buying barebones chassis and reworking them is a hobby of mine, so I have a lot of time in with the Dell Aurora platform from folks dumping them on eBay after yanking the GPU during the chip shortage. Personally, I'm a fan of the Dell Alienware systems, mostly as a mid-tier gaming and content creation PC with parts that wont push thermal limits.. So i5 and Ryzen 5, etc. But that's not my question. My personal machine is a 12900k running 4800 ddr5 on a gigabyte z690. My multi-core cinebench r23 reaches high 27,000s and sometimes 28,000. Your 13900kf should be way into the 30,000s, nearly 40,000 with cinebench r23 multi-core. Something is choking performance hard on that system. I really like the changes Dell's made on this for cooling, but I think there's more going on under the hood with power limits and other changes that are providing a bigger boost to thermal performance but at the cost of overall system performance. I hope you figure it out. I'd love to see this running a 13700K as a gaming and content creation station to see how it may perform. There can be an advantage to keeping the intel igpu if you are going to do any content creation. Cheers Rick
@@RyanYu - awesome. Figured that Dell tweaked the power settings to keep noise and thermals down. I love my Alienware systems. I know people hate on them, but I like them. And, they keep popping up on ebay for a song. If you are willing to role the dice on one. I looked at the config on dell that I would want and it was 3700. (13700k / rtx 4080) I can build the same or better spec system from Newegg for about 2600. The Alienware badge does draw a premium. I still like them and enjoy building with them. Enjoyed your look at this. Makes me want to get an R15 to play with. Cheers Rick
I purchased an aurora r15 with an rtx 4080 & i7 13700KF 16gb 1tb ssd Price: 2.8k runs super smooth. it doesn't make a sound playing resource intensive games.
Your tip about the extra fans is a good idea but probably going to fall on deaf ears. That space is only what's under the bottom of a normal case tipped up a few degrees to make the looks of a new design. It's still just a rectangular case and using that case is to keep costs down their end. I cancelled my Alienware last year and went for the Corsair Vengeance, Intel i9 with RTX card and its case is far larger and air flow much better. It cost less to and has no parts that can't easily be changed. I like Dell machines, I have a Dell Precision work station and several Dell servers but I just could not see the Alienware line, as good value.
@@RyanYu how about making the parts standard and not proprietary? What good is a pc if the motherboard and power supply only work in that computer. And honestly it wouldn’t surprise me if the ram only works on that dell BIOS
You didn't show what setting the DLSS was on the Cyberpunk. It definitely was still probably on Auto or performance mode to get over 100 fps. You get about 60-70 in quality and with DLSS off you get 30fps. Let's not misguide people
The timespy benchmark score is kinda bad if you ask me... a 13900k (not kf) with a 4090 normally gets around 34k, that's 7k more, which means that the R15 is underperforming pretty badly... About the 100+fps in Cyberpunk, that was probably with DLSS ON, right?
You convinced me.. I think I’ll get one of these especially since the price drop. Compares with other pre builds in specs and price but the aesthetics is incomparable !!! Especially if I can exchange future parts that’s the main thing, seems like you’ll be able to so thanks for the video!
They've severely throttled that CPU, and GPU could use a little help. For comparison, my 13900k/4090 scored 34,962 in Time Spy. 38,774 GPU score and 22,458 CPU score. The CBR23 score just shows how much they throttled that CPU. Heck, my 12900K/4090 Time Spy score is 32,393! The 12900KF in the R13 can hit 30K in CBR23 multi-core. The single core score is 316pts lower than mine, but your temps are 25c higher. The gaming part made my chest hurt lol. CPU at 70c and 1GHz underclocked. Goodness.
thank you for pointing that out, you are in fact correct, and i hope that your comment have helped to save a couple of users which were about to purchase this prebuilt pc
@@RyanYu not sure! I linked my result, but it seems UA-cam ate the reply. All I did was unbox it, update the BIOS and drivers, and run TS with HWInfo64 in the background. I used an HDMI monitor to avoid any G-Sync silliness, but beyond that, just straight out-of-the-box config.
@@RyanYu Monitor resolution doesn't affect the test. If you're running G-Sync, that will, but otherwise, it shouldn't. I used the standard default Time Spy settings, and didn't change any of those.
i am thinking of buying this, but what is the best ram speeds this motherboard can handle? i don't know how to build my own pc, but i have swapped out ram sticks on my current pc years ago. any plans on doing an upgrade video of this pc where you swap out ram and add another m.2? something that wouldn't be too difficult but would be instructional and help the buyers of this pc.
in cyperpunk the cpu runs at 4.4 and goes to 4.3 at 75°c. i definitly think undervolting your cpu would make higher and more consistant temps wich results in better performances + lower power consumption. Dont get me wrong, it performs well, but you could even get more from it :)
gpu seems to be doing ok, but it also can perform up to 20% worse than it should due to throttled down cpu , so perhaps if the cpu wouldn't be an issue the gpu could have suffered (too low cinebench r23 and time spy scores, even after the recent retest, in comparison to anandtech) about aio, dunno about maintenance, but what one would need to do for sure is to max the fan speeds of case & aio fans, though even that may not save the cpu from throttling, so may need to open front/side doors / purchase other case fans
What are the settings that you have to be able to see the overclock and thermals? I also have windows11 and i nees to shut off memory integrity and virtual machine platform.
Just a note on the wifi antennas - they also cover Bluetooth. If you don't use them, your Bluetooth AND Wifi signal strength will be awful. Plug in your antennas, folks!
@@RyanYu interesting. I've seen a bunch of folk on Reddit comment that their Bluetooth and Wifi signal really sucks, until they then get told to plug in their antennas. I guess it depends how far from your peripherals and router you are, and whether or not your PC is under the desk etc!
This is probably a dumb question, how do you plug in the antennas. I.e I have an R11 with awful Wi-Fi connection that I didn’t know may be contributed to the antennas now being plugged in.
Well with those decibel readings, why would you bother upgrading or changing fans? 37 db during cinebench is amazing. I saw in your hwmonitor once it hit 99c it started to thermal throttle. Can you manually turn the fans up to 100% and run cinebench again? Or in your AWCC you have to have the thermal profile set to 'Performance'. I believe it's on Quiet by default.
In your opinion, do you think the i7 13700kf/rtx 4080 variant of this r15 would be able to give a great experience with Microsoft flight simulator in VR while maintaining those good cpu/gpu temperatures long term?
Ryan, great unboxing. Love this R15! I am going to be lookin gto buy in the spring of 2024 and want to know your thought on the R16 vs R15. Seems like better airflow in the R16, but it has a limit on the video card atr 4070ti. Should I buy the R15 in March? I am playing Diablo, Cyberpunk, Witcher, Total War: Warhammer type games.
Great video, I wish Dell would of put a 360 AIO in this case, it certainly has the room and PSU for it. that would of resolved performance and temps for the cpu as the GPU's perform very well in the case. They really dropped the ball on that.
Hi Ryan ! I own an Alienware R12 with a rtx 2080ti , 32gb ram and my biggest complaints about it is that I have to keep it constantly frame locked to 60 FPS in almost every modern game or new one that comes out now a days, or else my fans will go absolutely crazy and be so loud for no reason. Also couldn't stream because of this. Been a problem for me since I got it day one out of the box. I was wondering how your experience has been with the R15 noise wise and what kind of workload you stress it with day to day. Was thinking of grabbing one to dual pc stream with and giving Dell another chance.😅
I also have the same R15 setup for over a month now. I found out the computer runs a lot better if you turn off overclock in AWCC. Try turning off overclock in AWCC and run timespy again, it will shock you lol
We got several 13900KF+3090 for data processing($1000+ for a 4090 is way too much honestly). The main issue is the maximum RAM can only be 64GB (Z690 with two ram slots, unlike the Ryzen version with 4 ram slots), and the extra power we got (1350W) cannot power anything else ( we have two 6-pin unplugged because there are no pcie port left for a second GPU…). The upgradability mainly focuses on the storage I think (correct me if I’m wrong, I’m just a newbie in the area. In terms of the noise, it’s silent in a 35dB A/C-cooled office, but definitely makes noise and heat for a 20dB bedroom setup. So far it’s satisfying as a performance monster, but not a perfect one, still.
Near future is only 1 GPU and 2 RAM slots anyway just because new technology is simply stacking cores to the death and not major advancements in productivity, which is actually fine. There will be 128 GB sticks soon and having 4 slots will just be obsolete. (No one ever will need more than 256 GB RAM even if you are making the next Hollywood 3D VFX movie (you are very limited on VRAM at that point)) If you do need more RAM you are a Server and you are not a PC. If we are honest there haven't been any progression in GPU technology for many years now. Its just more power glued together. Therefore, companies like NVIDIA will stop supporting 2 GPUs completely because that's what they are simply doing. Making 1 GPU as if it was 2 GPUs. If you are doing gaming you really will never need anything more than 32GB RAM and 3080 and I5 12700k (i5 13600 if you really want more CPU Power (I mean really i5 13600 is amazing being only 8% worse than i9 13900KF at third of the price, currently its 3rd best cpu after i9 13900 and i7 13700, yes I mean i5 13600K its better than i9 12900KF by 2% and half the price its nuts you should check it out if you want an insane setup for as cheap as possible) I would recommend to save $500 USD on a CPU like i5 13600K and buy a better GPU instead. its already an overshot these days I mean for most games my CPU runs at 10% or less I am able to render at 100% of my power and still game on the same computer at 200fps on games like league and some older games running at ultra ahhaha. If you are doing rendering, you always want more power. However professional renders are not done on the same GPUs as gaming is. For that you will run I9 13900KF and NVIDA Quadro (1 card anyway) and 128GB RAM. Why would you ever want 2 4090 cards in your build I have 0 idea. I actually wanted that but realized it will simply burn the cable and performance for rendering will not really scale properly, you will basically need 2 separate computers to get an effect out of that setup. Only a headache with unsupported compatibilities. However, it's a different story if you actually want to get 2 3080/90s Because you actually get better performance from 2 of those cards and for potentially cheaper price if you can get them to work together properly. However, if you are doing rendering, you won't actually get good results doing that and you would rather run 1 Nvidia Quadro or 1 4090 since its all about that VRAM. I don't think Alienware was ever known for their upgradability. You mostly can only upgrade RAM and Storage. So, you can throw in 2 X 64GB sticks instead of 2 X 32GB sticks. Thier products are mostly known for headache free. (Very good support) and some people find them cool looking. But support is a huge seller for me, they just fix everything and its cheap as well for their insurance in comparison and very easy to get even if you didn't buy it right away. I mean they sell it on older models even if you never bought it before, hint hint that is just amazing considering what I do on my machines. And to be honest I have multiple computers running at full power, so it sounds like an airplane in my room almost 24/7 and I don't mind it haha all that to get a 30 second VFX clip. :) I only used Alienware laptops before, but with this new desktop I decided it's good enough to use it and building one would actually not be better (marginally maybe, but it's just RAM, which I can upgrade anyway, and I am happy with 2 strong sticks rather than 4 weak sticks) and having 2 GPU cards this day just simply does not work.
honestly, i think having 2 slots is better than 4. 4 make more compatibility issues, make your controler overwhelmed then it means your ram is clock limited, and also it often ends with aio tubes pushing on the 1st slot. 2 slots for ddr5 is just fine i guess.
when you run the benchmarks, you can't do them in 4k or you won't get top results everyone benchmarks on low res displays. You can go to top level benchmarks if you put really low resolution and overclocked properly.
There still using the same metal case wrapped in plastic and the back end still has 4 holes from a cage designed years ago. The R15 like the R13 will be throttled in some way, a few extra vents and a 240MM radiator will not solve the R13's cooling issues. Dell continue to produce a product that is built to an expensive price that is far from upgradable and unworthy of the Alienware brand.
I am sure you have seen JustIN Tech Tips review of the R15. You guys literally have the same specs but his cinebench score and time spy score is vastly different. Do you know why this might be the case?
@@phho0698 R15 suffers from severe throttling(overheating) that unfortunately affects the gpu as well due to slower CPU (hence lower time spy score, gpu score supposed to be 35,700~36,100 on stock) / worse 1% low & 0.1% low what you can do to improve your score is the following - open case panels/doors max case&cpu fans speed use manual volts and ghz instead of the stock, manual volts and ghz generally have better ghz and lower volts than stock, lower temps you also can try adaptive volts though they are less stable 13900k should get 2258 single thread and 40,145 multithread in cinebench r23 according to anandtech , aim to get as close as possible to these numbers with all the mentioned above info
Its cooling performance is absolutely not doing justice for the sheer amount of parts and engineering dell put into this thing. Anyone with a moderate amount of experience in building a gaming PC can see that. The top mounted radiator is used as exhaust and is not only getting a poor amount of fresh air, but also taking the heated air from the flow through 4090. Why, dell, why?
Hi friend,if I purchase the Aurora r15 with 3060TI gpu,can I still upgrade to let’s say RTX4070/4080 in the future??I saw that the one I wanted has power supply of 750W??And if I choose the 4080 version which I cannot afford currently has 1350W,I also read that the one I wanted to purchase cannot be upgraded to RTX4000 series is that true?
Yep, I still have that Aurora R11 with the 3080. I am very tempted to get the R15 but my computer still get it’s done just fine so I think I’ll hold off for now.
The reason for the poor performance is that alienware limits the voltage in the motherboard because if the higher voltage was enabled it would melt the case (not literally but it has poor thermals). So basically you're paying more for the higher power supply that you'll never get to use.
I've had my R15 and I love it, it is definitely extremely quiet and temp cool it's crazy. Has anyone notice the PSU in the rear small amount of coil wine like sound I had the PSU replaced last week but even the new one is making that slight sound can anyone confirm this being ok?

Temporary fixes are manual resets with a usb or tech service repair, but the issue pops up again making these short term resolutions. Bummer
I got the 3090 version of this PC and am pleased with it. I don't need 4K so it meets my needs perfectly. I used to only build mine using custom parts, but I'm getting older and tired of wrangling parts. This was a good video, thank you!
@@RyanYu why can’t it do 4K? What is the limiting factor? People are doing 4K on other desktops with 3090 aren’t they? Forgive me if I’m wrong. Very new to pc’s.
i wanna clarify something here: Its not alienware that you should be bashing on. its Dell. i personally don't like the way dell tries to restrict Alienwares components and the only thing you can upgrade, is the SSD, the ram, and the GPUS what i hate about some of the newer aurora cases is that you can't fit the 3090 gpus (or the 40 series) only the 3070 standard design. i have an aurora r8 and an aurora r4, and was able to fit a 3060 ti and a 3070 ti, even though their cases can technically fit a 3090 ti if i wanted to (but won't cuz power consumption lol) and performed much better than the aurora r12 (which is essentially a heat box to keep you warm in the winters lol) i really miss Alienwares old engineers. they actually cared about how they designed their cases, and only to sell the entire brand to dell, they're just recycling this idea, rather than adopting new ideas like what the corsair and asus do to their individual components. i want an alienware case, with the freedom to add any component to the system. i like their monitors, i like their mouse and keyboards, i like their chairs. for fucks sake though. give it more liberty lol
mine just got out of the Production stage and about to ship :)...did yours come with that Fury RAM? I ususally see the plain jane green stick RAM in other vids....I ordered mine with 8gb of ram and swapping out for Corsair Dominator Platinium RGB 32gh 5600mhz RAM.

Hey buddy, awesome video. I wanted to ask you if you figured out how to improve your Cinebench score. A Redditor managed to hit 34.4k on his R15, so I'm curious about what others are also achieving.
@Ryan Yu Hey, I did more research and have been asking other R15 users about their Cinebench scores, and so far they have been successfully achieving 35k multithreaded and 2.2k single-threaded scores. This score is with no other modifications to the system. You should try uninstalling bloatware, updating everything, and closing background tasks to see if you can also get a similar score. I have also seen people uninstall Dell Support Assist because it helps them during gaming and stops random stutters. Good luck!
Hey, have you tried running your R15 (13900k) at a 90w TDP? I'm curious about what kind of performance gaming benchmarks you would get lowering the TDP. Any tests would be awesome.
I have an R15, you can upgrade to 64GB with various brands. I have Kingston Fury Running at 5600 you just need to revert to Bios Version 1.0. create the OC Ram profile and upgrade the Bios back to 1.10. You can upgrade cards you just have to make sure you get the configuration with the 1350 power supply as only Dell PSU's work with the mother board. They do sell the PSU's to the general public so if you get a configuration with a lower psu you can upgrade later.
You can upgrade the ram and the video card. But you have to ensure the video card will physically fit into the case. The motherboard is custom to the case. So if you want a new mobo then you’d need a new case/fans/psu. But honestly for that reason I try to buy these at the top config. Makes upgrades a non issue. By the time you need it it’s time to replace nearly everything anyways.
I just bought the R15 also, and I don't see the equilazer settings on command center. Anyhone else have this issue? As I watched the video i also doesn't show the sound effects tab. is it normal for the R15?

That's a good looking rig! I ordered a new R16 but I like the case design of the R15 better. Very clean looking and the internal case RGB is superior to the minimal amount of RGB in the R16,
there was nothing wrong with the previous designs, it was the interior they needed to fix. They need to fire whoever is in charge because they are ruining alienware

@@RyanYu 13 percent. I think it may just be me. The noise sounds kind of loud I’m just not use to it as my older pc I built seemed more quite but I was only running a gtx1080.
Thinking about getting this but there is one concern I have. I live in the middle of the desert and it gets HOT. My room is the hottest in the house, even with swamp cooling. With my current pc, I can already tell that the pc makes the room hotter, but I dont know if the added heat coming from the sun will affect my rig. Basically I am trying to see if the Aurora can handle a hot summer day, despite its cooling system and extra 2 fans it has than my current build. (EDIT) ALSO, i know this pc doesnt have much options in terms of upgrading, but is it good enough to where it doesnt really need an upgrade? I just dont want have to change parts or even the rig all together because of the next generation of gaming, I would want it to last.
@@RyanYu I couldn't tell u exactly, but i know it def doesnt go over 90, If I had to guess, 88 degrees at most. The main issue is that my room doesnt have ac, it uses a swamp cooler and my house's foundation planning was so shit that it barely reaches my room, causing little to no airflow. So my room can sometimes be still with hot air. I guess I am more concerned of the pc only pullting in hot air. Im sure the coolant system helps with that, but Idk if I need to do anything special to keep it from overheating. Maybe Im tripping idk.
@@RyanYu I mean that's the hottest it'll get without paying attention, meaning no windows opened, no fans, no water cooler (it still helps but not as much as it should), general hotter day than most, etc. It can get up to around 88 and thats if im like coming home from a long day to an empty house for example. Like right now, its 86 outside and feels like its 70 with the fan blowing against me from my open window. So its not everyday, but like 2 days ago we were up in the 90's, making my room feel like its mid 80s. I mean what would you usually do if you found your room being hotter than usual while you were playing, should I just use it as a sign to hop off and go outside? lol. Thanks for the answers btw.

I would like to see Alienware make some sick looking motherboards and gpus exclusive to their pre-builds. Alienware should look, run and use the best of the best. Builders should look at an Alienware and want to purchase it just to get their hands on the crazy looking components.

Cheers

Dont get me wrong, it performs well, but you could even get more from it :)
you are right.
How’s the temperature of GPU?
How’s the maintenance issue for AIO?
gpu seems to be doing ok, but it also can perform up to 20% worse than it should due to throttled down cpu , so perhaps if the cpu wouldn't be an issue the gpu could have suffered
(too low cinebench r23 and time spy scores, even after the recent retest, in comparison to anandtech)
about aio, dunno about maintenance, but what one would need to do for sure is to max the fan speeds of case & aio fans, though even that may not save the cpu from throttling, so may need to open front/side doors / purchase other case fans
There is no maintenance needed for the AIO.

What scores do you guys get in cinebench?
SURELLY. For many years, they still trying...maybe next gen..
Near future is only 1 GPU and 2 RAM slots anyway just because new technology is simply stacking cores to the death and not major advancements in productivity, which is actually fine. There will be 128 GB sticks soon and having 4 slots will just be obsolete. (No one ever will need more than 256 GB RAM even if you are making the next Hollywood 3D VFX movie (you are very limited on VRAM at that point))
If you do need more RAM you are a Server and you are not a PC.
I only used Alienware laptops before, but with this new desktop I decided it's good enough to use it and building one would actually not be better (marginally maybe, but it's just RAM, which I can upgrade anyway, and I am happy with 2 strong sticks rather than 4 weak sticks) and having 2 GPU cards this day just simply does not work.
honestly, i think having 2 slots is better than 4.
4 make more compatibility issues, make your controler overwhelmed then it means your ram is clock limited, and also it often ends with aio tubes pushing on the 1st slot.
2 slots for ddr5 is just fine i guess.
So how’s the pc now?
still rocking
when you run the benchmarks, you can't do them in 4k or you won't get top results everyone benchmarks on low res displays. You can go to top level benchmarks if you put really low resolution and overclocked properly.
I just want you guys know what’s it in 4k
There still using the same metal case wrapped in plastic and the back end still has 4 holes from a cage designed years ago. The R15 like the R13 will be throttled in some way, a few extra vents and a 240MM radiator will not solve the R13's cooling issues. Dell continue to produce a product that is built to an expensive price that is far from upgradable and unworthy of the Alienware brand.
The 240mm is actually helping a lot for the cpu.

Its cooling performance is absolutely not doing justice for the sheer amount of parts and engineering dell put into this thing. i really miss Alienwares old engineers. they actually cared about how they designed their cases, and only to sell the entire brand to dell, they're just recycling this idea, rather than adopting new ideas like what the corsair and asus do to their individual components.
i want an alienware case, with the freedom to add any component to the system.
i like their monitors, i like their mouse and keyboards, i like their chairs.
for fucks sake though. give it more liberty lol
Exactly!!!
5K is is way too much for this system... You can get better than this for 5K... Great review sir!
I may need to build a pc next time.
Will you be doing a teardown of this one as well?
Nope.
mine just got out of the Production stage and about to ship :)...did yours come with that Fury RAM? I ususally see the plain jane green stick RAM in other vids....I ordered mine with 8gb of ram and swapping out for Corsair Dominator Platinium RGB 32gh 5600mhz RAM.
Mine came with the fury RAM yes.
Yes! This is my favorite PC in the market. The warranty can be expensive, but I think it is worth it! Please review more Alienware products! Not many people do! Also-I definitely subscribed!
More to come.
yes, warranty is very worth it for this prebuilt pc given that it may damage itself from hitting 99c daily, depends on your tasks sure
Did you upgrade the ram from 4800 to 5200?
Nope.
I bought the r13 with the 3080 april last year i guess could have waited for the 4000 cards but I didn't have the patience lol, couldn't wait. Oh well maybe ill wait for the R17? With the 5090? to upgrade lol. Nice vid btw.
:) RTX5000 way to go.
Lol well u not the only one I also will wait for the 5000 series lol
Hey buddy, awesome video. I wanted to ask you if you figured out how to improve your Cinebench score. A Redditor managed to hit 34.4k on his R15, so I'm curious about what others are also achieving.
Not yet, still getting the same score.
Good luck!
@@jmight9453 Maybe it's just my PC... I have reset the PC and about the same score....
@@jmight9453 Also, is resolution matters? maybe it's because I'm running in the 4K??
Hey, have you tried running your R15 (13900k) at a 90w TDP? I'm curious about what kind of performance gaming benchmarks you would get lowering the TDP. Any tests would be awesome.
Are you able to swap out the gpu and buy the 5090 separate ? And are you able to buy more ram make it 64 gb ?
Nope, it's non-upgradeable, that's where a lot of negative reviews of it come from, that and the build itself.
As I watched the video i also doesn't show the sound effects tab. is it normal for the R15?
would you know why dell have some alienware desktops on clearance ?
WHy"?
@@RyanYu i am going to get my first gaming pc, but i am getting it from meta, and since you are more knowledgeable in the pc field would that be good idea,if not what site would you recommend?...ps my budget is $1,000-$1,400
@@anthonymontoya880 what games do you play?
@@RyanYu i want to play wow, diablo 4, vr compatible, holdfast ( another game similiar to it, payday ( newest one ) and star field
its crazy its 2023 and the apex gaming pc is the same size as desktops made 20 years ago
:)
That's a good looking rig! I ordered a new R16 but I like the case design of the R15 better. Very clean looking and the internal case RGB is superior to the minimal amount of RGB in the R16,
It is indeed, in my opinion this is the best looking Aurora by them.
there was nothing wrong with the previous designs, it was the interior they needed to fix. They need to fire whoever is in charge because they are ruining alienware
Cool. In your opinion do you think we should still upgrade the fans to a quitter fan or no need?
depends on you. me? I'm okay with it.
@@RyanYu previously I had a r10, the fan went viral, super loud. So I changed it to noctua fans. Does this r15 needs an upgrade? I am still waiting for my r15 to be arrived tomorrow.
@@460212688 Try it first, if you don't like the noise level, then upgrade it.
I just got my Alienware R15 with the RTX 4090. It seems like the fans are constantly running high? is this normal or any suggestions? I've tried to adjust the fan profile in command center with no success. I also made sure all drivers/bios are updated.
Even with no other program running? What fan speed do you get?
@@RyanYu 13 percent. I think it may just be me. The noise sounds kind of loud I’m just not use to it as my older pc I built seemed more quite but I was only running a gtx1080.
@@lordikon1980 13% is alright.
Hey man , I have an r15 with a 3070 and a 1350 psu , will a gigabyte rtx 4080 work in it?
fancy outside and name with cheap in-house made dell parts inside.
I mean how hot does your room get...
@@ghostcappin3294 that's hot!! I don't think any computer will handle that...
@@ghostcappin3294 my room is always around 74
Gamer's Nexus took an R13 apart and found it to be the worst machine they ever tested. I was hoping the R15 might be a bit better but it doesnt look like it
:(
@@RyanYu actually after your video plays, that’s the video UA-cam suggested next. You might want to view it too
That liquid cooler is not powerful enough to cool the 13900k. So anyone who has this how do you feel that you paid so much money without getting the full performance you paid for?
:(
hey man can i change my 13700kf in my r15 to a 14900k since the socket is same
Hi I saw the cpu at 41c at idle with the bigger Rad doesn't look good maybe it's really hot in your house ?
