Thanks for the video! I have both of these pieces. I use both frequently. If only allowed to keep one, I would go with the deep oven. It's better to have a bit too much space than not enough. I'm glad I don't have to choose!

If I could only keep one I think it would be the deep oven as well, I think I'm going to agree with you and lean into the idea that I would rather have more space than too little, for sure! LOL

The deep oven is my favorite. They sadly discontinued it.

According to everyone on all the groups and such, I'm a weirdo. I seldom use my sautuese, and everyone told me I wouldn't use the 3.5 round if I didn't use the Sautuese. But when they had the 3.5 round brought back for sale, I got one and I use it ALL the time! Still seldom use my essential oven lol. If I had to choose between those two (I have a Staub 5 qt tall), it would be the 3.5 wide round every time. As long as they weren't the only two pots I had, lol!

LOL! The hubster is the one who uses the sauteuse most often, I think the size is more manageable for him when cooking because he tends to make just enough for everyone, whereas I cook like I am feeding an army of people.....LOL

@@karenandmaya8329 Yes, to the army or people, lol. I like leftovers, what can I say? Plus I grew up always cooking for at least 6, my husband eats for two, so I always cook a lot. The round wide gets used both for sides and for just one when he's gone. It's fantastic for that, and since he travels a lot for work, it sees a lot of use!

@@raggsj38 LOL, I love it! The hubster eats for two and takes the leftovers for lunch! Currently the round wide is my favorite but the essential is used by me most often to bake circular bread loaves.

I think I would get the sautese since I already have a dutch oven AND it comes in white!

I think if you only cook for a few people, the sauteuse could do most things, as it is shallow enough to fry, and deep enough for a stew.

I totally agree!! and your right it's great for frying, we've used it several times for this and it worked so well. Thank you for sharing!

Could you do the sauteuse in place of a braiser? looks similar to me.

Okay for sure, you would like the braiser vs
the sauteuse? That's a great comparison!
