She’s a nice engine. I wonder if Lionel will make a “traditional” version, kind of like what they did with the USRA 0-8-0? Just shrink her down slightly and make her either in simple detailed form for starter sets, or a more detailed version for those who want something with a little more bite?
Nice Loco, Ryan. That is one of the more affordable ones that Lionel makes. I love the glowing Firebox and Operating Steam Whistle! Thanks for Sharing!
Completely agree with you on Lionel’s 2-8-0 game. They’ve only made 2 scale classes of consolidations, the Pennsylvania H-10 and the one that you have, which is based on similar classes that the Union Pacific and Southern Pacific had. With the 2-8-0 being one of the most popular locomotives during the days of steam, along with all of the great variations/classes of it across many different railroads, it’d be nice to see Lionel come out with some new scale classes of 2-8-0s.
Could you please explain the lion chief motor part. Are they really well made?I have heard the new ex MTH mikado has problems with the drive rods /motor.
Well done video
Ooo new lionels?
Pretty!
Sorry to hear about your cat ,good looking engine 👍 looks great on layout
They made a C&O 701 2 8 0, the prototype is on display in covington va. It has the flying number boards, it was a older release.

Maybe some CN versions? I think CN rostered a rather large fleet of 2-8-0 versions, which would be good for subsidiaries GT/GTW, DW&P and CV.
Sounds amazing !
it really is
Nice engine Ryan.
Thanks!
I like the shirt! Great video!
thank you
I got my ex MTH tooling 2-8-0 in NYC Central. Lionel did a great job and I hope they redo the Chessie like the one MTH did.
Is it a good runner Douglas?
@@huntercoleman460 yes sir. Those new Lionchief motors run like a Rolex. You get the MTH durability with the tooling but without the weight and drag.

@@williamkolina3988 lionchief motors are maintenance free and can survive the abuse of kids. The run very smooth and are quiet responsive.
