Anu was sentenced in 1999 for the conviction of manslaughter after the killing of Joe Cinque, her then boyfriend whilst together, studying as law students at Australian National University.
The death of Joe Cinque occurred in Canberra, Australia on 26 October 1997. Cinque's coffee was laced with rohypnol, a sedative, at a dinner party, after which he was injected with a lethal dose of heroin by Anu Singh. She was sentenced to ten years imprisonment, but was released early in 2001. Since her release, Anu has undertaken criminology research.
The crime has since been portrayed in Helen Garner's celebrated non-fiction book Joe Cinque's Consolation (2004), which was later adapted into a film of the same name.

The movie actually made me sick to my stomach....How this psychopath bitch only got 10 years and out in 4 was surreal!! The sociopaths all got off Scott free per usual. I am abhorred and beyond disgusted, not to mention the nausea.
