I am reading Kelly’s book ‘To Cause A Death’. I am so touched by her story. I hope she reads this message: thank you, Kelly. We can all learn from your journey. I am so sorry for the pain you have experienced, but I am so grateful for the lessons you share. I don’t believe in the concept of a ‘good’ or ‘bad’ person, but I want you to know that I truly believe your actions in this world are positive because you have always had kind intentions. You were a child when you made a mistake - we would have made the same mistake if we were born as Bren and our lives had lead us to that day. There are so many of us facing similar journeys of forgiveness, I know that I have my own ‘mistakes’ that I am learning to accept with self-compassion - your story is inspiring me to be more open with myself and more forgiving. I am sending you so much love and gratitude. X
Nice to see you looking well Kelly. I know Kelly from being in a residential college. I really admire her and her strength from all she went through. I miss her very much. :)
Donna Lloyd:Are you saying that Kelly is no longer with us? I can so relate to her story. In my story i was sexually assaulted by a first "boyfriend".however because I had accepted his invitation to date i felt that i ought to have been able to discern his basic dishonesty?Regardless I did what she did.i pretended that i was okay for over 40 years! Then I could no longer bear the pretense and living in a world where socially people always expect you to be just fine, thank you".
This is a wonderful story told on video. The only thing I need to know? Ms. Connor does not say anything about any family member or friend of Margaret. Did anyone forgive Ms. Connor for the motor vehicle accident?
Yes, if you read the story Kelly Connor describes how the son appeared two weeks later. Kelly says; “Two weeks later I came home to find Margaret Healey’s brother talking to my parents. He told me that he wanted me to know that neither he, nor his family blamed me, and nor - he was sure - would Margaret. Deeply generous as I knew this to be, I wasn’t in a position to accept his forgiveness. I didn’t feel I deserved it. In fact it just made things worse because I knew I’d given a false statement to the police.” Read Kelly's story here: theforgivenessproject.com/stories/kelly-connor-australia/

Thank you Ella for this beautiful reflection.
Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.
