Tree Shelter In The Rain - Solo Overnight - Bucksaw Crafting
Вставка
- Опубліковано 28 вер 2024
- A simple tree shelter in the rain. Some crafting and making a Chili con Carne I dried last year. The Spruce tree worked great. It was pretty windy so had some drops in there but with a good sleeping bag there was no problem. If you find a dense high spruce like that you can stay quite dry. Especially if the rain falls straight from above and not sideways by wind.
Cool. I just started following a British guy who does some wild camping. Man, the guy just never shuts up. I so much prefer the quiet and peacefulness of your videos.
'Actions speak louder than words.'
Cheers.
Thanks! Yeah for me its unthinkable today listening to a guy talking about what he will do later. Why not do it instead if he knows how to do it?
@@Swedwoods amen.
@@hermit6208 I enjoy both kinds of channels. Just depends what mood I am in..if don't like a certain type, don't watch.

So refreshing. Your subscriber from Pakistan.
Thank you very much!
you're good I love you I love camping gracias desde California
Thank you!
Nice video, beautiful saw, nice location but. . . not anxious to set fire to such a beautiful coniferous tree? Thank you from France for these wonderful pictures.
Thanks! If unattended, bigger, and closer to the branches, in summer....yes maybe. But in the end of October in the rain I could not set it on fire even if I tried.
Nice work on the saw
Thanks my friend!
Another great video. Thanks.
Thanks a lot Mark!
@@Swedwoods And another thing I really like about you sir, is that you take the time to answer every single person who makes a comment, no matter how small. That is a rare quality and very commendable. Thank you.

Great job mate all you need now is a Mrs Shedwoods on your adventures.
Thanks! Someone needs to stay home with my small children Im afraid...
Oh, I enjoyed that video a lot. Thanks. The axe is exactly what I am looking for. What is that for a brand?
Thanks! Husqvarna Carpenters Axe
Another great video! I can't wait till the snow falls in SE so you can make some new winter videos with PL Lavvu:)(i'm Polish:))
Beeing honest you have probably one of the best "Bushcraft" channels! I like your style. No special tools, no hi-end gear, no fancy hats...and no words, just pure, raw "art", pure woodcraft. Keep up with the good work!
Thank you very much! yes longing for some snow here.
What he said...
Very nice Bucksaw. I crafted also one shortly ago. Look a little bit like yours too but way less beautiful... :-)
Thanks!!
How come you don't have a store, or an influencer page on Amazon. I'd love to know about the little knife you use for wood carving. Also your axe too.
oh sorry I dont know what that is
mora 120. Husqvarna carpenters axe
Was that an opinel u used to do the fine carving on the bucksaw? Never been a fan they seem too bulky but i cant deny the efficiency of them. Great video brother, breathe fire
thanks! Its a mora carving knife. no 106.
Отлично 👍
thanks!
I think you should build a hut to shelter from rain, it will be safer for you to sleep overnight!
I dont do permanent camps much. Always on the move.
Great video on making a bow saw, tree shelter in the rain, not so much. Where was the rain?
when i set up a tarp you can hear the rain making sound on it. but you can still see the water streaming down the spruce twigs if you decide to watch the whole video. Thanks!
Too Good
Wow thats cool but where did you find the steel to make the blade.....
Mycket bra👍🏻
Tack!
Love the pot holder! Nice video, good food! Thanks!
Thanks!
Is the bahco brand blade what you usually use for your saws? I have watched you make lots of different frames, some smaller than this as I recall. Also read about a brand of blade called G-man, I think from your country. Do you have a preference?
I mostly use bahco blades because they are cheap and I know the quality is good. The G-man is also cheap and my guess is the quality is also good. Ive yet found a tool made from scratch in Sweden to be of bad quality.
BEST.👍👍👍
Thanks!
Cool video bro. From Rocky mt
Thanks a lot Willie!
peaceful
Thanks!
Why did not use shavings from carving?
Because it needs to be collected. And pointless with it being soaked from the rain. And dead spruce twigs comes in bundles. And a bundle of straight kindling burns a lot better than a pile of shavings.
That’s how it’s done
thanks!
Friend, please tell me which shoes you use. I see the “Vibram” sole, are they probably good shoes?

Why rub the saw with oil
Tools must be oiled or they rust.

Excellent cover. What oil did you impregnate the saw wood with? I soaked mine in linseed oil.
Thanks! Yes linseed oil!
Thank you for the video, I really enjoyed it. Please make a longer part on the campfire, it so relaxing.
Thanks!
Delicious. Great crafting, better ambient. Thank you so much for sharing
Thank you very much Ani!
good job mate. love ur videos. keep it up! greeting from malaysia🇲🇾
Thank you!
Always enjoy your campout videos and this was no exception. Great camera work as always.
Thanks a lot Lonnie! I was inspired by your Ready made woodland shelter vid. You are dead right about the fact that when you look up you should not be able to see the sky. I checked out many spruce trees before finding one that didnt leak. Well they all leak but its a big difference on constant dripping that makes you soaked or a few drops now and then. A few drops is no big deal if you are not just out in the clothes you wear.
@@Swedwoods I agree
Love your approach to these videos. Your creativity is much appreciated.
Thank you very much!
Watching your videos makes me homesick to Scandinavia (Norway)! Keep up the good work and your concept! Warm greetings from Thailand!
Thanks a lot!!
As usual a very nice video my frien, I am jealous with your forests, and I told you, really you are a master. Nice weekend! Greetings from Madrid
thank you! Have a nice day my friend!
Parabéns por este vídeo fantástico.
Um abraço aqui do Brasil
Thank you!
Love watching these early videos.......
Another pattern for tensioning a bucksaw! That pot handle 'hack' is AWESOME! You use the same principle as you did with a recent pot hanger and showed a different application.
Exactly!

A good Sunday morning to you, and thank you for the gift of your work. The axe sharpening has a nice rhythm to it...

Thank you my friend! I use a Panasonic Lumix G80 with a 12-60 mm tele, a 42.5 fixed lens, sometimes a GoPro hero 7 and a DJI Mavic drone.
