It's so weird listening to these old game soundtracks and realizing this is where my taste in techno came from
Mine came from my first console the N64 and the soundtrack to EXTREME G.Definitely worth a listen to.
Same. I forgot the day 3 existed but as soon as I heard it, I was like "Oh, so now we've come full circle."
When I was young didn't know this was techno
@gpl992 Extreme G also is the reason why I subconsciously groove with trance 😅
That second stage music was fucking HITTING as a kid. Between this and SoR we never had a chance.
They still need to make Vector Man 3 and Knuckles.
There was supposed to be a Vectorman 3 on PS2, if I recall correctly. I believe it got shelved though.
Que madre hacia knuckles aca wtf

Vectormania
One of the most 90s feeling game soundtracks to exist
That's because the music is supposed to be EDM, which I find to be a great fit for a game like Vectorman
Oldschool rave tracks
True
All 90s kids remember.... The originality, the creativity, and the memories of these games.... Damn I feel old even though I'm 35. 😎
Same. Sometimes I feel twice that
tekken 3 remastered Ps2 Tag team Tournament FTW :D
I'm 14 and I know what this game is and I love this song sooo I get it
@@DXG1405 i played it for the first time in 2008 lol. i was 17... but still felt it is my childhood haha. vectorman music is great but i cant beat level 2 xD. the only thing i remember as a 9 year old was getting lost in Pokemon blue on the gameboy color and that scary music when you are surronded by a pokemon :s true childhood moment. haha . of course i abandoned that game too lol. playing tetris on the game boy color. :) omg amazing music once again. when im older Tekken 3 really impressed me. As a teenager.
Lady snake84 I’m 18 and this is a amazing game
I'm so 90's I held a tape recorder up to my TV speakers and recorded over an old cassette just so I could vibe to this whole soundtrack at my leisure.
I love how they gave you a whole playlist of this soundtrack in the options menu...I remember rocking out to ending which was called "win" on the playlist...and my genesis still works to this day.
Ditto
Same.. my dad bought me the sega back in 1997 and we used Sega Channel, it existed in Chile for around 2 years, amazing games. Now I own an arcade cabinet and fell in love with it
I was gifted a Genesis console for my 10th birthday and each day since now I regret getting rid of it. Now I've been on eBay looking up good used consoles for sale. I just really want a Sega Genesis so I can re-live the good days, but in all honesty though you never know what you're buying when it comes to used gaming consoles on the internet.
@@scorpionwins6378 you can emulate it in a computer and connect it to a TV, I know it's not the same but games actually look even better. And use a controller
The first video game I ever beat. Anyone remember how cool Vectorman looked when standing in dark spots so his eyes glowed?
I would always stop in the caves just to see that eye glow
This, is how good GEMS could sound when used properly.
rockmanhunter are you referencing Sonic Gems Collection? Becase this game and Vectorman 2 are in the Collection
@@tatianeroza32 No he was refering to the sound driver/engine of the game.
Ahmad Moemen ops, Sorry 😅
@@tatianeroza32 no problem👍
It was made by smashing gems together
Wow. I can't describe the intense wave of nostalgia that hit me the second Day 1/Day 6 started. I nearly fell over lol. Those Saturday mornings back in the early 90's felt not so far away for a moment...
Day 1 is so damn impressive man . Love that track
Congratulations. Now play without cheating.
I remember that damn this game was a Troll lol
I'm 27, still haven't beaten this game without cheating :P
Lmfao
None Ofyerbisness No way xD
I made It!!!!!
The bass drums are so satisfying to listen with headphones
Hell, they are satisfying WITHOUT headphones.
Badass music here. Honestly it sounds like a Jesper Kyd soundtrack, except without themes that go for 7-10 minutes before looping.
+Gender Neutral Chibi Thing Kinda, but his tracks are more industrial and make much better use of the sound chip.
7-10 minutes? Whoa, that's awesome. Most games have tracks that last 1-2 minutes before looping.
@@k-leb4671 The title theme for The Adventures of Batman & Robin for example is nine minutes long before it loops. The title sequence is maybe like a minute or two, maybe less. xD
That's why I love Jesper Kid especially his Batman and Robin soundtrack . Seriously for a sega game that soundtrack does not sound like a genesis game
@@Alianger ehh, I wouldn't say that Jesper Kyd's MD OSTs are that much more impressive than this, or at least his earlier works that is. I mean, if you compare the intro music from Pro Moves Soccer to something like Day 4 or Day 7 here, the difference in instrument quality isn't really that big at all.
Seeing somebody this dedicated to the Genesis' awesome sound chip makes me really happy.
Remembering how good Day 16 was makes me really happy as well.
The Genesis' sound chip uses a certain type of synthesis called FM synthesis.
It's very unique, if you listen to some 80's synth pop you'll hear similar bass/lead sounds that's because the Yamaha DX7 uses a sound chip very similar to the Genesis'. For example the bass line for Take On Me by A-ha uses the DX7 "Bass 1". Mason+Fenn's Profiles album extensively uses the DX7 FM synthesis.
@@gabrielproteus3172 strange that fm synthesis was always used in like pop music. But when you use fm synthesis for techno music it's a completely different story
Back in the day I recorded the sound test menu onto cassette tape. I called it VectorCuts.
Day 3 is absolutely mesmerizing
Can you believe this was released 1995... and in a 2 MB rom... including the rest of the game
It is wild. Literally one song in MP3 form from the OST would be bigger. I kind of wish I could have been older during that era to mess with the soundchip. That type of constraint really made sound designs get creative.
@@Mr___f You can still do so, though... The famous Yamaha YM2612 microchip... There are videos on here of people playing around with it
Sega's answer to Donkey Kong Country, and the game that did the concept of human civilization fleeing Earth in the distant future due to excessive pollution, leaving robots to clean up the mess thirteen years before Disney and Pixar's Wall-E did. It's sad that Vectorman was one of Sega's many mascots who never evolved beyond the Genesis era, having only two games (a third one was planned for the Saturn, and later the PS2, but it never saw the light of day). Fortunately, Vectorman's games are frequently included in Sega compilations.
C A < < A C A B
Why do i still remember that after at least 15 years.
Because AB>ACA\/AB>A
CALLACAB
ABRACADABRA
ABBADABBA
They got creative.
I still love this soundtrack ❤
this game is balls to the walls nuts
vectorman is made out of balls so you're not wrong.
@@SoApBoX This is hilarious and true!
Fantastic music and I have the ocean level theme stuck in my head.
It's kinda funny how Day 11 is a simple bassline and drumbeats and it's still a catchy tune.
1:06 THIS IS SPARTA THIS IS SPARTA
02:54 - Epic music which changes tone and... mood. From reverie to injection.
Excellent music for a work out.
Grew up watching my older brother play this game. This soundtrack defined my childhood
This and Contra Hardcorps had the best soundtracks of the era =)
My two favorite Genesis games, as well.
21:08 Day 8. \m/
Day 3 was a real banger.
Never played this before. Holy crap does it sound amazing. Really well done music!
I was glad to be around in the 90s playing this game. It really pushed the limits of what Sega Genesis could do.
This game was so lit. Like for a vectorman remake rpg!
Ah yes Vectorman... Wall-E of the 90s. Who needs a love story when you can just blow up your enemies and show them that the Genesis can do what dk country can do but better.
+James Evans As much as I think the Donkey Kong Country games are overrated, you think this is better? First time Ive heard anyone say that.
It's certainly more fun to actually playing Vectorman though
andyukmonkey Yeah, Vectorman is better than Donkey Kong Country. I stand by that completely.
As someone who's replayed Donkey Kong Country 1, 2, and 3 numerous times
and replayed vectorman numerous times as well
I can safely say I honestly prefer Vectorman and think it's better tbh.
@Andoc Agreed
Are you guys saying that troll games are better than games with proper level design?
I've finished both vectorman and vectorman 2
7:44 The model-Kraftwerk
DUDE YES IVE THOUGHT THIS FOR YEARS
The best game music only on Sega.
супер как и раньше)
Day 3: 90's Club! right up there with best house tracks.
Heck yeah!! You da man Dustin!! I've been waiting for this for ages now!
Days 2 and 7/14 are my favorite
Even the options music is a sick beat
thats my fav track here tbh!
One of the best soundtracks ever
Life got more joyful since I found this OST. :D
07:44 DAS MODEL
Velimir Krstić I guess the composer learned from the best :D
It’s so nice to be able to listen to these cool tunes without haywire robots trying to kill you. Vectorman 1 & 2 were both fun games! Thanks 🙏 for the stroll down memory lane! 👍 👍
OPTIONS are such a masterpiece here
God bless you Jon Holland
Vectorman sound > Vectorman 2 sound
My absolute favorites from this soundtrack are Day 5 and Day 7, and for good reason. They're absolute bangers
Nunca pensé encontrar estás hermosura 😍❤️❤️❤️😍
SNES: You are not able to do epic soundworks...
Genesis: Hold my Vectorman cartridge... and Thunderforce 4, and Batman and Robin, and Comix Zone, and Contra Hard Cor... and get the hell outta here)
That batman and Robin soundtrack by Jesper Kyd was god tier music composing for the sega
Классная игруха и по графике и по геймплею и по музыке. Одна из самых запоминающихся на Sega
I got to the last boss of vector man 2 after many hours and gamed over on that last boss, never went back but Vector man 1 is always in m top 10 of Genesis games.
Sounds better on sega's remastered version or a model 1 genesis.
Just listening to this makes me want to beat this game yet again.
I just noticed the GENESIS letters going out of the way lol
What can I say about this beautiful soundtrack? Genesis does what nintendon't!
Absolutely awesome!
love this music man,, this game was pretty scary as well with this
Day 5's opening is *chef's kiss*
Ayyyy
Hell to the freakn yeah this is legit. I’m 32
J was here 05/16/2018
8:45pm. I was taking a dump when I found this.
Song at 9.53s is the best
Haha, I played this game when I was a kid and I still remember this song. I went searching for it and ended up here.
Vectorman mode ON!!!
One of the best soundtracks on the Genesis\Megadrive
Nah, it's okay at best, imo
Listen to Thunder Force iv instead
@@LavaCreeperPeopleI just really like techno so maybe it’s just me, but i still absolutely love the soundtrack and the game itself. Thunder Force has a great soundtrack too though
Played this game when I was 9 on my PSP. Memories!
This music is trippy.
AWESOME [SEGA GENESIS MUSIC ] VECTORMAN - FULL ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK OST !!!
Day 3 lives in my head rent free next to sandstorm and all-star.
3 уровень это огонь
the waiting room at the cole harbour canadian tire in the 90s had this glory
Power up YEAH!!!!!
I'm hearing a heavy KMFDM influence
Nostalgia
so smooth
This is the best to jam out 2
best game of all time. period
hardest game of all time. couldnt get past level 2 lol.. i was a kid but in 2007 ps2 tekken 4 came ..so ..
Still running im diese Welt und diese Zeit...
8 people had no childhood and didn't enjoy great classic gaming music.
enjoyed this soundtrack
Что игрушка была в своё время хороша и прорывом в графическом плане на 16 битках, что саундтрек к ней. Это же как нужно изловчиться, чтобы поместить такую музыку в пространство картриджа, ведь возможности 16 биток были довольно ограничены.
Godamn, I jam this shit all the time lately 🤣🤣 fantastic tracks. Loved these games
Day 4 still gives me the creeps after all these years...
with this game I listened for first time techno, I was 7 years old
very top!
This truly is the only soundtrack on genesis I know of where EVERY TRACK is under Content I.D. bs.
They really mustve thought this OST would be a hit back then, huh?
My youth was hinged on my mastery of this game. I challenged myself to beat the game in 30 minutes on easy mode and in 45 minutes in hard mode. Day 16 is branded on my brain to this day, with the tornadoes and junk floating to the surface as jumping platforms. The Ending credits music is like pure dopamine. I just wish it included the spamming of sound effects like it did on the old Genesis console.
pretty sure you can get those by watching a "longplay"
Born in 1990. Sega Genesis was the best console.
Genesis synthesizer music at its greatest
FUCKCKK my childhood was LITTTTT
This game needs to come back
29:10 - DROP THAT MIX TAPE!
The title screen bass sample is from Sonic 3/Knuckles' Chaotix
Vectorman was, and still is, THE SHIT
Never played this, but the soundtrack is awesome.
If mass effect was on Sega this would be its soundtrack too
Woah!
Why mega drive music sounds like it's being played directly into my brain?
I used to play this game
I like sonic but man I'd kill for another Vectorman or Ristar.
Goa trance right there!
Okay soundtrack
