    Yes! I’ve been holding out on buying a Strike Multipad because I first need to know if the hi hat could be play/controlled closed, half open (sloshy), and full open. Sometimes I’m situations where there are space and stage volume limitations. It would be great to just walk in with this pad, a stand, and a foot pedal and hi hat pedal/controller. I’ll order one right now if the hi hat can be played like an actual hi hat. Thank you and great playing and great use of this pad!

    • @dannypattersonmusic
      @dannypattersonmusic  2 роки тому +3

      Thanks. From what I have read online it can be done to have multiple hat settings but it takes multiple pads to set that up and I don't have it set up for that so I really can't comment on it, as my hats are only open or closed nothing in between (I have two pads setup for hat sounds; one open and one closed and is controlled by the pedal). In this video you can see how my feet/pedal does control the hat sounds. ua-cam.com/video/AvD-H4BsBc8/v-deo.html

    I have interest in what you’ve uploaded on YT. And thanks for that. It does sound great.
    Looking at a similar setup with variable genres myself. So my Q is.......
    I understand downsizing, travel load, setup, mics, eq, etc... but are you really comfortable with just the multipack?

    • @dannypattersonmusic
      @dannypattersonmusic  5 років тому

      I use this setup only for certain situations. Either the stage/venue is very small and/or the venue requires only electronic kits. The MultiPad works great for situations like this.

    Good stuff man! How do you like the sensitivity/dynamics of the drum pads?

    • @dannypattersonmusic
      @dannypattersonmusic  3 роки тому

      The sensitivity on this Alesis is better than the Roland pad I had.

  • @essjay2910
    @essjay2910 5 років тому

    More setup Q’s.....
    How is your output O/P settings?
    Are you just using the main O/P or are you using the AUX O/P as well?
    Would you consider using the Kick on a separate O/P for low depth frequencies than the mid snare and high end crashes for example?

    • @dannypattersonmusic
      @dannypattersonmusic  5 років тому

      I really don't do a lot of electronics so I'm really not understanding the question ... but I'll answer the best I can. I'm using the standard outputs (main out) into the FOH mixer. All sounds are from the Alesis built in sounds. The sound you are hearing on the video are coming from a floor monitor on the stage as the whole band is directly plugged into the FOH (no guitar amps).

    Could you use your fingers and hands with this unit? Is it sensitive enough? Thanks for posting.

    • @dannypattersonmusic

      You could if you set the sensitivity higher. I can get the pads to register with my fingers (as is) but would be easier if I changed the sensitivity level.

    Do you run this straight out to speakers? Or do you have to go through a computer or midi?

    • @dannypattersonmusic
      @dannypattersonmusic  2 роки тому

      In this video I am plugged directly into the (front of house) PA through the Alesis output. At some gigs I run out of the Alesis output into a drum amp. I do not use any MIDI or computers ... all the sounds are stock Alesis sounds. Thanks for watching.

    Awesome Danny! I just got a Strike MP a few weeks ago and played one live gig with it so far! It sounds great. If I dropped you my email would you be able to send me a copy of your kit you used here? Or, can you also let me know what Volume levels you set each of the pads here? I am struggling so far with making each pad balanced my PA speakers... Thnks!!

    • @dannypattersonmusic
      @dannypattersonmusic  4 роки тому +2

      Thank you. The drum sounds are the stock sounds that are inside the Alesis. I just pick drum sounds that sound good to me. I also don't use the same "kit" on every song (example this is a completely different kit/sound ua-cam.com/video/AvD-H4BsBc8/v-deo.html ) so I really wouldn't be able to tell you what setup this was from as I'm constantly changing/adjusting settings. When running through the PA we are using a compressor to balance all the sounds for the front of house.

    • @progression_decibel
      @progression_decibel 4 роки тому

      @@dannypattersonmusic Thanks for getting back! I use the stock sounds too. The intention of my question was to ask what volume levels you generally abide by when making your kits? Do you for example, make Kick and Snare pads Volume 100, toms a little lower like 80, cymbals a certain volume, etc etc? As I make my own kits I'm trying to get a good balance but I find some pads don't cut in the mix as well and I over compensate the volumes I think. I do use the built-in Master FX Compression and EQ to give my kits an even boost as well.

    • @dannypattersonmusic
      @dannypattersonmusic  4 роки тому +2

      @@progression_decibel You're welcome. I'll have to check and see what the volumes are (as I really don't know). I do want to say that my snare volume is maxed out and everything else is lower ... I'll check and repost the info later.
      I am not using the onboard (SMP) compressor but the compressor in the PA/Mixer for FOH.

  • @itsowen2113
    @itsowen2113 5 років тому

    Are the built in sound good on this? Is there good variety of sounds that sound like an acoustic kit? Was this a preset kit you used or did you build it with the sounds to make a custom kit?

    • @dannypattersonmusic
      @dannypattersonmusic  5 років тому

      The built in sounds are fantastic and over 8000 sounds to pick from. There are numerous snare, kick, toms and cymbal sounds. The kit I'm using in this video was something I programmed as there isn't any "drum kit" presets I found usable for this type of situation.

    • @itsowen2113
