- The Sect bio:
Growing up hooked to the bleeps and breaks of The Prodigy and London’s pirate radio stations, Blade and Virtua followed the development of Jungle to Drum & Bass, eventually finding themselves drawn to the futuristic output of labels such as Underfire and Renegade Hardware - and in particular, the techno-edged Konflict sound.Meeting through friends in the late 1990s, they have been producing Drum & Bass together ever since.
Their first release as The Sect came in 2003, but it was their debut EP on Offkey in 2006 that brought them to the attention of many of the scene’s most important players.A string of releases followed quickly on a host of other respected labels, including: Position Chrome, Freak, Obscene, Habit and Subsistenz and they have received support from DJs across the Drum & Bass spectrum for their productions and remixes on labels as diverse as Cause 4 Concern Ltd, PRSPCT, Red Light, KSS Black and Utopia Music.
Despite the heavy production schedule, The Sect are as at home behind the decks as in the studio. Virtua has showcased his formidable turntablist skills at competitions and nights around the country and Blade has been DJing for nearly 20 years, playing regularly at events across the world, from the UK to Russia and New Zealand. They have established a reputation for high-energy DJ sets, combining tight mixing with cutting-edge dubs to move crowds wherever they play.
The Sect’s debut album ‘Fractured State’ was released on Subsistenz Recordings in December 2011.
The Sect´s debut EP was one of the records on my first order, when i first bought my turntables and started to dj.
Techno-Dnb was starting to blow up and these guys were probably the ones who got my attention the most at the time.
I remember Temper D playing tunes like nerve attack (before it´s released) at one of our local clubs and we went totally nuts on it.
I have been obsessed with techno-dnb ever since.
The Sect were one of the strongest names on the scene, I bought every record and you didn’t even need to listen to them before, everything was rolling and techy and pure fire, just as I like it.
Unfortunately, after a load of insane releases, the duo has come to an end.
Dave is now working solo, as Section 63, and he still makes kickass tunes.
Ill wait a bit and do a special set on his solo work too.
Not sure what Ben is doing but I hope he is doing well.
Thank you guys for being true to the sound for so long.
You rock!

Massive thanks brother. I try ;)
But honestly, could never go wrong with The Sect! Big ups
Big Ups!
Sick mix !!!
gwan dave, ave it
Agaaain fireee!
😍 Big ups mate!
The sect é o rei do Technoid, o verdadeiro "peso".
@@BlastDnb sim eu sigo o projecto dele.
Moar!
great set. How are u feeling the XDJ-700, are they worth it, or do they feel cheap for the pricep ?
Hey mate! Im loving them tbh. Was used to my old cdjs 100 and 400, which were not functioning properly, so the upgrade was exactly what i needed.
Just missing hot cue buttons on this model, but i can do fine without them.
They are light and compact, perfect for a small studio. So, i have no complaints really :)
@@BlastDnb nice to hear, i have the CDJ-1000MIK3 but im super tired of burning cds. Also dont wanna spend 2000$ on a new cdj...jesus the prices
That Kill all Humans and Annihilation double drop though
🕳🕳🕳
💕🩷❤️❤️🔥Whuahh 🤤🤤🤤
Nice one dude!
@@BlastDnb Ha momentos e contextos pra tudo. Uma coisa é certa, quem tava lá sentiu a energia xD Keep up with the great work, maquina! BigUp
pure fire!
Love the “The Sect”!
THIS IS BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!
Big ups man!
Used to rinse some tracks from you back in the day too! Long live techno-dnb!
@@BlastDnb wow! Thanks mate. Technoid dnb is still the best and my techy radar tinkle a little whit your force. Cheers! 🤘 Thanks again
