I stumbled upon this video and so glad I did. So much of what you said resonated with me. And I am not single or childless. But in spite of that, I have spent many Christmases feeling very lonely. I was married for 26 years to someone who did not like Christmas and it was always up to me to make a good Christmas for my kids. I learned during that time some of the lessons you pointed out such as buying yourself a special gift and wrap it, discovering what parts of the Christmas traditions I wanted to do for myself, etc. My children are all in midlife now themselves, and I am remarried to someone who enjoys Christmas, although his joys are not the same as mine. During the height of Covid back in 2020, we could not get together as a family, so it was the first time in my entire life that it was just my husband and I for Christmas. And yet, looking back, it was one of the most enjoyable Christmases I've had because of nearly zero stress. and chaos and just really enjoying the day in my own mind. Thank you for all that you expressed in this video. Many women in my generation, married or unmarried, have given too much and not let ourselves enjoy the special days in ways that bring ourselves contentment and /or joy.

Happy half birthday! The half birthday concept reminds me of the "un-birthday" from Alice in Wonderland.
