In Part 2 of my in-depth conversation with the legendary David “Rock” Feinstein we dive deeper into his musical journey with Ronnie James Dio that wrote heavy metal history. Despite the trauma of a harrowing car accident Rock and his cousin Ronnie demonstrated unparalleled resilience, returned to the stage and went on to win over audiences first as The Electric Elves / The Elves and then as Elf.
Rock explains the influence of the 1960s group The Easybeats and his friendship with the band’s guitarist George Young (brother of AC/DC’s Malcom and Angus Young), and we find out how a fateful friendship would open the door to the opportunity of a lifetime: an audition with legendary producer and star maker, Clive Davis.
