- In this video I am going to adjust the carburetor setting of Honda Hornet 160r BS4 2016 model. I have thought about this technique myself, hope it will help you too and it can be helpful for other bikes as well. This will help you to gain good mileage and performance which will increase the life of the engine. Please do this at own risk and use proper tools before taking such action.

At first i set the screw at 2 complete round anticlockwise direction which was giving me approximately 50kmpl then i make it 1.5 now its giving me easily 55+ kmpl but a little struggle in morning time due to winter.
I set 1.5 turn anticlock in hunk. Bike giving 62kmpl. Struggle only in morning frst start but later all time pickup nd accilarate very crisp smooth ride. Thnx.

Can I do tuning keeping the engine in neutral?
If you kept the engine in neutral the speed will be zero and you have to find the right point based on acceleration...which is not very accurate in digital meter ...so speed helps us to find the sweet spot accurately.

Welcome bro... Its winter season so it is struggling in the morning but in summer it will be okay...if you turn the screw in clockwise direction it will give lean mixture and anticlockwise will give richer mixture. Thank you

Its not properly set. Air fuel mixture screw is making rich mixture . Do it from the beginning and slowly rotate the air fuel mixture screw.

1 open carburetor mixture screw 1½ turn
2Start the motorcycle and put it in 3rd gear.
3Increase RPM with the idle screw At 3000rpm
4 Adjust with the mixture screw looking for a stable rpm level in this case it was almost 3500- 4000 RPM and then adjust with the idle screw to 1300_1500RPM

Yah you got it right...first tightened the air fuel mixture screw and then increase the rpm so that the bike wont stop running. Now put it on third gear or higher and unscrew the air mixture screw until you achieve the maximum speed. At last reduce the rpm to 1300-1500 rpm and check bike response.Thank you

This is normal way of mileage setting. But this won't help all the time. Sometimes company setting would b giving better mileage than this setting.
Company setting is set by taking care of all things like milage, performance, pickup etc but in this setting performance will slightly decrease and which will help in increasing the milage, because milage is inversely promotional to performance.

Brother i have hornet , bt i am facing some problem can you help me out , my bike didn't response smooth , and every time my bike rpm flactuate krta rehta hai , kai bar co level set krwaya hu tb b , or bike bar bar band ho jata hai agar race ni do to
1.Check if there is some cloth inside your seat which might stuck in air filter or change the air filter if its gets very dirty.
2.Check the spark plug or change it if it completed 10000 kms.
3. And the most important clean the carburetor. Due to filling fuel in bad oil pumps can cause this issue.
Without physical inspection i can suggest you to try the above methods. Thank you 😊

Bro after turning clockwise, how many turns anticlockwise?
2 turns will be enough but if needed more milage then 1.5 th turn will be good but may face some issues in morning during winter season.

Sir mera hornet bike me ride krte waqt same exlater pe automatic speed low and High hota hai or ye problem kai baar servicing k baad v nhi thik ho raha hai. Ye problem kaise thik hoga.
Ye problem clogged air filter ya carburetor ke andar blockage hone se hota hai. Dono ke atchay se check karna aru fuel tank ko bhi saaf kar lena.

Didn't check screw was full tight or not. Yes but I turned 25 times then it reached at max rpm.
I guess screw was tight since last servicing 4months back.
Does tigh screw impect on engine.

Hello Bhai. Mera X blade he. Me jab 60 ke speed pe hota hu aur bike ka speed breaker ke liye bike ka gear kam karta hu tab bhi mera RPM 2200 hota he aur 5 sec baad normal 1100 ho jata he. Bike ka clutch bhi dabamne ke baad bhi engine ka rpm kuch secouds ke liye 2200rpm tak reheta he. Koi solution de sakte ho?
Carburettor tune karna padega...i think lean mixture ke vajay se ho raha hai ...ek bar tune karwa lena thik ho jayega.

That's very low mileage. Get your bike checked, there might be some other issues... clogged air filter, tight brakes etc etc

If you turn the screw anti clock wise it getting richer mixture i.e better performance... If its turn clock wise then lean mixture is provided to the engine i.e better milage but decrease in performance.

Wrong...the fuel remains same its set, it cannot be altered. The only thing you can change is the mixing of air ...the screw sets the airflow in the mixture and the rpm screw on the right has nothing to do with the mixture

It is normal if the rpm increases after riding few kilometers because due to heat the size of the cylinder increases and makes the piston free to move which results in increase in rpm. If the rpm increases more then it should be, then check the acceleration cable and then check the carburetor. Hope you get your answer 😊

Yes Profermance will increase but ride in high rpm will decrease the mileage
But the method that you told in this video is for pickup or mileage??
This method will help you gain the perfect amount of fuel air mixture ratio which will result in better milage and performance... But riding at high speed and also expect to get good milage is not possible. If you ride in range and 60-70 kmph then you will surely get a good milage. Thank you

But My Hornet is having very bad pick up and bad Top speed too even though it has well maintained and less used

1st gear pe jyada rpm achieve nahi hota aru aasa nahi hai ki 3rd pe karne se he hoga... 5th pe bhi ho jayega par ideal ke time engine jhatke mar sakti hai so... 3rd gear middle parta hai.. So 3rd use kiya.

Bhai rpm graphically show hota hai toi pata nahi chalta accurate hua ki nahi aru sound sunke pata nahi chalta isliye gear laga liya toh speed dikhega aru pata chalega.

1). 1st we need to fully rotate in clockwise direction and then need to do 1.5 rotation in anticlockwise or what..?
2). I can't get air filter from showroom. Shall i buy from outside shop. [non branded] pls prefer smthg..
3). When the bike is in center stand, 1st gear shifted & fully holded clutch.. Tire will rotate or what.. [ For me its rotating]. Is it any issue or normal..
1. First turn in clockwise direction until it full tight... Be careful don't tight it hard... And make sure rpm screw is also turn few in clockwise direction.
2. If its urgent you can use from outside shop non branded.. But don't use it for two long... Change it after 5000 kms.
3. Thats normal... Its also happens in my bike.

Ye to sab bike ka ghumta hai cluch dabane par bhi tyre ghumta hai na?
Please check your air filter is clean or not... And also check is your air filter smells strong smell of petrol... If yes then your fuel is not burning completely... That means your tuning is not accurate and also check is there any difference in mileage
