Having a problem, I made a custom life icon, it is 16x16 the tex file generated, and it's named correctly in the lua, but it won't show up. It's just the missing image question mark when I load the game.
In your Lua file, search for CT_CHAR. There should be one more instance of it lower in the Lua file. Change that to CT_(whatever you named the other ones). This should fix the issue.
Idk if anyone has typed this already, but there's and easier way to rotate things in blender and also get them at perfect angels. You can press r and any one of the keys that corresponds to different axis (xy and z) and them type 90 or -90 depending on which direction your trying to go. Doing that it'll just snap to a position that's 90 degrees from it's original spot. And you don't have to only use 90 it works with any number
@@Garrulous64 the only reason why i went to this tutorial was to find out how to open the templates so i can mess around with the rig and make animations or renders lol

For those who have a problem with shading your model smooth and it looks a bit broken you can go into edit mode with your mesh, press A to select everything and then you can press Shift+N. Then everything should be fine!

What's even worse is that Modern Sonic's eyelids used to be tan too, up until a certain game, which scarily implies he spontaneously grew fur over them one day.

Hey i'm having a problem. My character's model is not showing in game, for some reason it only shows his skeleton(somehow), did i mess something in the model? how do i fix it?
I'm getting a 'Metal Mario.001 has no mesh children' error and the github seems to not know either. As well as '"Capless Switch" in armature "Mario" has a mesh switch option with no defined mesh.' Animation and texture wise everything worked out fine. Does anyone have any idea how to fix it?
TIP: if you want to rotate an object by a precise degree, you can simply press R while selecting any object and then type in the number of degrees you want to rotate it by.
I am new to Blender and I like to do things manually so I know it's correct. I'm not in this to rush through everything and have the program make mistakes.
it says "A vertex was found that was significantly weighted to multiple groups. Make sure each vertex only belongs to one group whose weight is greater than 0.5. (Torso, Body)"
it also says "All vertices must be part of a vertex group, be non-trivially weighted (> 0.4), and the vertex group must correspond to a bone in the armature. Groups of the bad vert that don't correspond to a bone: []. If a vert is supposed to belong to this group then either a bone is missing or you have the wrong group. Groups of the bad vert below weight limit: ['Head', 'Torso', 'Left Shoe', 'Butt', 'Body']. If a vert is supposed to belong to one of these groups then make sure to increase its weight."
Yes. This is that issue i mentioned in the video. You missed some vertices when assigning groups. Click your mesh and go to edit mode. Now click the select tab close to where you changed to edit mode. In the select menu, click select all by trait, and at the bottom, select all ungrouped vertices. Then you'll need to assign them vertex groups.
Oh ok. I misread your initial question. You have vertices that have multiple vertex groups assigned. Click on Torso in the vertex groups list, and then hit select. This will highlight all torso verts. Next, click Body and then hit remove. There us no Body vert group in Mario's model though which means you did not delete your model's existing vert groups before assigning the correct ones. Go into your vertex group list and look underneath Right Shoe DL. There should be no Mario vert groups past that point in the list and you can delete everything below right shoe dl
"A vertex was found that was significantly weighted to multiple groups. Make sure each vertex only belong to one group whose weight is greater than 0.5." Then it tell me some bones that aren't even connected with one another. Does anyone know how to fix that?
That message should tell you which vertexes have more than one group assigned. Go into edit mode, and find those points, and remove the second vertex group.
