What a sound! Nothing can make THIS sound but the 8D. (Yes, I know there is a 6 and a 10 in the mix, but the 8 is the predominant sound here.) Frankly, you don't hear this rich, deep, warm, and complex sound in our orchestras and bands anymore. Outside of Hollywood, are the Cleveland and SF Opera sections the only 8D sections left? Smh. I've heard great things about the new 8D from credible sources. We need this sound back. It's sorely missed.
Lawson horns too, those things sound great. I still have always dreamed of a John Williams score featuring the Vienna Philharmonic, the sound of a vienna horn is so powerful
@rcbuggies57 the Minnesota Orchestra is the only Lawson section that I'm aware of. I agree. Lawson horns sound wonderful! Dallas, Nashville, Baltimore, and Atlanta were Lawson sections at one point. I miss that sound too.
@@Tigerwarhawk Yeah, I play on a 103, but I was able to get a lawson s670 cup and it is the most perfect mouthpiece. My old teacher was good friends with him so I got to try out all the different bore sizes until I got exactly what I like. Also, the 103 I got just happened to have a Lawson leadpipe, so the whole combo just feels amazing. He made some fantastic stuff.
