- The Cincinnati Bengals lost to the Washington Commanders 38-33 on Monday night.
James Rapien and @EliseJesse give their thoughts on the game.
Jayden Daniels completed 21-of-23 passes for 254 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for 40 yards and a score. His best throw of the night was a 27-yard touchdown to Terry McLaurin that sealed the win for Washington. It was a vintage performance by Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase. The star duo combined for touchdowns of 41 and 31 yards.
Burrow completed 29-of-38 for 324 yards and three touchdowns. Chase had six receptions on seven targets for 118 yards and two scores.
The Bengals play Andy Dalton and the Panthers in Carolina on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 1 p.m. ET.

Washington outplayed us, period. Their quarterback was on fire and wide awake. This is going to be a tough week for us. Let's hope we can turn it around. Go Bengals!

So deflating. Our defense looks awful. Offense looks good. Even though we can technically get back on track, that just sucked the life out of me.

This is the second time that ZT loses to a head coach that 1st year with that team. 1st the Pats, and now the Commanders. I had a lot of hope for this team. It's still early, but the Bengals defense looks terrible. If the Bengals lose next week, kiss our season goodbye 👋.

The common denominator is Zac Taylor… 1-11 in the first two games of the season since 2019! Every knowledgeable bengals fan knew the defense(dline) was going to be bad, couple with inexperienced corners. The offense was flat for most of the game and wasn’t aggressive until the fourth quarter. Yes the defense was terrible but that’s not the strong suit of this team, offense was flat for too many opportunities and didn’t wake up until late!

We went from "SB contenders" to worse than a Carolina rebuild IN THREE WEEKS. This team is cooked worse than pre-Burrow years. I legit can't watch football this year because Brown doesn't want to fucking take care of the coaching problem. Have fun losing a fanbase keeping Zac Taylor. Also enjoy your home games be as empty as the WNBA bleachers until Zac is cut. Don't get me wrong, Zac seems respectful and nice, but we need a football coach, not Mr. America...

They attacked Carter and Bell frequently tonight. Carter is too slow and not strong enough to play 3t, he was a edge in college and the only good part of his game was his quick first step and that was lost when we asked him to put on weight. Bell isnt quick enough anymore, he was never fast to begin with, but they cooked Vonn in coverage tonight. CTB had a bad game and needs to STFU and stop giving opponents bulletin board material. Lou had a terrible scheme and for some reason he didnt treat him like a running QB. No spy, no comtain on the edges. No pressure all night, except like 2 or 3 pressures from Trey. We are $20m under the cap and we are doing nothing with that money, didnt pay bates, reader, mixon, Tee or chase. This starts from the top like it always has

Two things can be true: Jayden played a heckuva game tonight, and all the credit goes to Washington. However, this team kicked 7 field goals last week against the Giants. The Bengals not being able to get a single stop is inexcusable.
Watch when they play Arizona this weekend…he won’t complete 90% of his passes. The Bengals ineptitude was on full display defensively
@taboohstidbits4479 that's fair, but the Commanders have had 14 scoring possessions in a row. We kicked field goals agains the Giants because of stupid OL penalties in the red zone; it wasn't anything the Giants did and at least 3 of those FGs could have easily been touchdowns.

Two words - HORRIBLE DEFENSE. And - NO PRESSURE. The Bengals dont have NFL caliber defensive line right now, its embarassing. Trey is literally ONLY player forcing pressure. Commies have a decent game plan to try and get Trey out of equation. Hubbard has fallen off a cliff and there NEEDS to be actual answers soon. Otherwise, I dont know when our next win is.

Only 3 weeks in the books and already cooked. This organization is pathetic. When Joe Burrow leaves this team when his contract is up, I may very well become a fan of his new team and stay there. I'm so tired of cheering for a lost cause every year, because the Brown family just absolutely insists on being a poverty franchise. This is the worst I've felt in years. It's miserable knowing that even though the season has barely began it's still over for us and now we gotta sit back and watch 15 weeks of everyone else actually playing for something while we aren't. Nightmare is a little extreme my man but I’ll admit that defense is a nightmare…they couldn’t stop a high school Jr high team man…I don’t know what to say other than yeah this is typical bengals football…we get this freaking stud QB but don’t invest in a line and he’s hurt more often, our great WR is a greedy child who wants “yo all da money”….then how do we start 3rd year in a row 0-3…sure we made AFC championship 2 years ago and got officiating screwed over again, but last year we lost Joe, now how’s this year gonna play out? I know Joe will say “Chill people we’ve been here before and pulled out of it…” and I’d love to have his confidence and maybe 2% of his income but they’re all still rich…who knows maybe we’ll be ok but I’m not an optimist…

That defense has been stagnant and inconsistent year after year. It starts with coaching. Everyone talks highly of Anarumo, but I'm not impressed. They consistently fail to stop runs and intermediate passes. They can't get to the QB. I just think the coaches can't get the right players and plays in there. Taylor and Anarumo seem like good dudes, but I don't think they're the ones that'll get the team a Super Bowl.
