There's plenty of Bands that run forever and we'd love them keep rolling, but to Sully's point we don't want to be the Stones at 80. BUT there's a big difference between writing your own end rather than your ratings right it for you. How many season and sequels of NCIS, CSI Fast and Furious movies were/are there now?
@@janice8925 Tell me something, have you ever been in a band before? Have you ever tried to tour? Because it’s rough. You have no home life most of the time, you’re away from your friends and family. And after doing it for so long, you start to feel a little burned out, and you want to just simply be a person again. Think about that please.
@@janice8925I missed the part where he said that he was going to stop writing. Just because he's not going to make new albums it doesn't mean he won't write stuff in his free time just for fun and not for profit.
After 27 years of music it’s more than fair to call it. I’m sure sully will put out more solo albums. Nobody wants to be doing music at 90. At least not at a high intensity. The Rolling Stones are legends but their 25 years past retirement.
Godsmack will never go away, just because they have chosen to put out a final album doesn’t mean they’re done. The great thing about music is that every song can have a different meaning or impact you in a different way each time you listen to it. Godsmack has found a way for a single song to reach massive amounts of people who are all going through different struggles, triumphs, and other life changing events. Take a bow gentlemen, you have achieved more in your life times than most others can, and you have touched more people in this world than others can. This isn’t “good bye”, this is more like “I’ll see ya later”.
Sully and Shanon, your drumming has inspired our now 29 year old son to become a fucking monster on the drums as well. We took him to one of your shows when he was 10, you changed his life.now he plays for two bands. Can't wait to see you live again with him in Pittsburgh! Love you guys! 🌟 Sully please don't think about this being your last album. Please just take a big break and put out another album when you have a set of songs you love as you live life and come up with them. Then you can put out another album down the road. Yes we all love hearing the hits by the legends but sometimes the latest album and time zone may be the best or it is just as great and keeps is all going. We always love you and need Godsmack and you're solo albums to look forward to & enjoy. Have fun doing whatever you want!😎👍
They gave us damn near a quarter century of great music. Their self titled and The Oracle albims are my two favorites. But the growth it took to get from point A to point B in this specific example is exemplary.
These guys have MORE than earned the right to go out the way THEY want to. They have ALWAYS tipped the cap to those who came before (see Sully's comments on touring with Metallica) and they have ALWAYS tried to give some to those to come (see "Unforgettable" video). Bravo gentlemen and kudos for always doing it YOUR way. 💯👍🏻🤘🏻
Godsmack has been my absolute favorite hand since 1996... I am both undeniably heartbroken this is the last album and be gone elated that they will have much needed family time now.. Sully is someone I adore for not only his earth shattering and sould commanding voice, but how genuine of a person he is.. This news is a blow but also a new beginning.. ❤
Godsmack was in Minneapolis last spring, but it was the same night my son's senior prom, so we flew to Tampa to see them. 100% worth the trip. These guys are awesome and I wish them the best, cant wait to see them live again.
Finally someone who gets it. Far to often bands keep making music that never seems to capture the same feeling or quality and everyone just wants to here their older stuff they love. Some bands are fortunate enough to just keep hitting homeruns like Red Hot Chili Peppers but Metallica fan's just want to hear anything before Garage Inc.
Yes so let's triple challenge Godsmack to follow that hit after hit success like The RHCP. The new Godsmack single ROCKS!!! I love it along with their big known hits and gems. ☺
Im a Metallica and I like even their newer stuff. Death Magnetic is a great album. Sure Ride the Lightning is still my favourite album but their newer stuff is good too IMO
im sorry Metallica sucks always has and theyre a has been band and a bunch of jack wagons who dont appreciate their fans and they just need to go away the old farts they are and couldnt even begin to measure up to bands like Godsmack, Slayer, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, etc.
@@darkshad0wz69 without Metallica there wouldn't be any of those other bands and they would ALL say that themselves! You're just one of those douchebags who can't like anything once it becomes too popular. Get lost. Master of Puppet's is one of the greatest albums of all time! They may not be your cup of tea but that's like saying the Beatles and Elton John suck. Ok, bad example. But you get my point 😉
I 150% respect this! They are people with lives! An they can do what ever they want! They never have an never will owe us anything! But I love them for everything they have done for us!
Just saw them on this current Staind/Godsmack tour 2023. Haven't seen them since 2004. They still rock so damn hard. Total respect for what he's saying here.
I discovered the band in 2016 after playing Prince of Persia Warrior Within on my PC. The energy and Thrill of 'I stand alone' and 'Straight out of line' was just awesome. I wish you the best GodSmack. Seeing this as your last album is definitely a bit saddening for me, but you said it right, there is much more things you wanna do in life. Wishing to see you soon !
I'm sad. But, Sully is an amazing singer, the band is brilliant and badass. I've listened to them since the beginning and hope this thing kick arse. First album was magic in my eyes and ears. This new album sounds really amazing.
Good luck Godsmack. Just wanted to say you guys were absolutely fantastic at Birmingham 02 academy UK a few weeks back. Was the best gig I been to in a long time. Really cool night.!!
Even if this is the last album by Godsmack....I will always jam your music. My favorite album is Awake. But all of the albums hold their own ground and I will rock to them all
This band is just as or possibly more talented than most big names if you ask some people. This is not what most metal fans want to hear but will always support you. Your work is so appreciated and underrated.
People need to stop being so upset they have put amazing stuff out. I still listen everyday. I'm 27 and I understand how tired they are. And guys they can always change their minds I'm the future and let them live their lives with their families they deserve it!
Godsmack has always been a good solid hard rock band. I've never seen them in the headlines for any negative reason, and from what I can tell they keep their private life private, and keep the fans properly informed about their musical ventures. Though I've never really followed them at all, I do like what I've heard from them, and I respect them very much as musicians. They've had a damn good run. Keep em moshin guys 🤘🤘
Dude I remember the first godsmack song I ever heard. It was The Enemy from WWE Summerslam 2006 and I thought to myself "this song is so fucking cool and then years later I saw them live and until I saw green day that was the best night of my life. So learned a couple songs after I saw them and I fell in love with 1000hp and have been a godsmack fan ever since. So yea when they come around I'm gonna rock out with one of my all time favorite bands Godsmack.
Thanks for bringing us this interview. Godsmack's recordings thus far are in the can, and that music will certainly last - because it's rock solid. @Godsmack - You are deeply appreciated as I'm sure you may have heard rumored. :) Thanks for being a great example of professionalism in Rock -N- Roll artistry. It completely is understood about the Journey you are taking. The Universe has Blessed you over the year's with a Legendary Gift!! No matter what Path you Choose to take us true fans will have that DUALITY TO Ride with you till the Afterlife. So excited to hear this new one as I have everyone you have made signed a sealed to carry on the Multidimensional Realms of Frequency you carry through each realm. You are the true Pillars of Strength and the Blessing as the Beacon of Light to a World Unawakened. As Above, SO Below, AS Inside, AS Outside your Roots will always connect much Deeper then the Depths of the Ocean. Let's persevere forward and see what you guys are bringing to the table. Thank you Sully Shannon Robbie and Tony and all the miraculous phenomenal motivational inspirational extraordinary unique things that you are sending lots of love and light!!!
I'm so fortunate to have an expectation to see Godsmack playing live for the first time on November, 12th here in Brazil (Godsmack first time on South America) - Godsmack 4 Life!!!
Yeah about that, we'll have to wait for the 1st South American tour lol :/
@@fuckinliveinsin Yes .... Sad 😭
I like the self titled and the Oracle the best as well
These guys have MORE than earned the right to go out the way THEY want to. They have ALWAYS tipped the cap to those who came before (see Sully's comments on touring with Metallica) and they have ALWAYS tried to give some to those to come (see "Unforgettable" video). Bravo gentlemen and kudos for always doing it YOUR way. 💯👍🏻🤘🏻
Love this… Inspirational!!
What I Love more is that you keep it Real & Sincere ❤
Saw Godsmack for the first time in uk in October,so happy i did
It was a great experience to be feet away from Sully & Godsmack....Hell yeah !!🤘🤘
Cameo appearances in others songs every now an then would be a blessing to the fans whenever they move on
These guys are amazing. I've loved em since the beginning! Totally relate
I hear you, but Death Magnetic still has some of my favorite metallica songs
🙀😞 man you guys are legendary I hope to catch a show before you stop touring it’s been my dream since your voodoo album 😢
Loved seeing you in concert
I wish the group a wonderful life afterwards! I hope they all fulfill their dreams! GOD SPEED!
I understand but it’s sad we won’t hear any new music. 😢
Completely
It’s time we all take that leap into the void full of gratitude for all the earth lessons.. Love u Godsmack✨😽🌹
I seen you guys in Tampa performing arts center an Wow BadAssGood thanks for the Adrenaline Vibes❤️
I enjoyed your music God Bless good luck on your next adventures in life
No keep going on your albums man we love the group
I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart I'm going to put it all together for her just like she deaerves
I sure hope they keep playing shows I gotta catch at least one
I've never had the opportunity to see them in concert & now I'm sad that I never will
I'm sad. But, Sully is an amazing singer, the band is brilliant and badass. I've listened to them since the beginning and hope this thing kick arse. First album was magic in my eyes and ears. This new album sounds really amazing.
I have to see them live, please tour UK, Bristol or London
Good luck Godsmack. Just wanted to say you guys were absolutely fantastic at Birmingham 02 academy UK a few weeks back.
Was the best gig I been to in a long time. Really cool night.!!
Even if this is the last album by Godsmack....I will always jam your music. My favorite album is Awake. But all of the albums hold their own ground and I will rock to them all
This band is just as or possibly more talented than most big names if you ask some people. This is not what most metal fans want to hear but will always support you. Your work is so appreciated and underrated.
Sully is such am awesome person in everything he does.
Thanks Sully, you guys deserve to do whatever the hell you want. See ya in 20 years for the 401k tour! Another Boston guy.
🤘
No wonder i been listening to the 1st album again. I have it from when it first came out in 1998. I love you so much Godsmack!!! ❤
They get better with age man love the new single and saw them in satx amazing musicians rock on 🤘
Dude I remember the first godsmack song I ever heard.
In my eyes, y'all rank right up there in class with the likes of Bob Dylan, Pearl Jam, and others that are "Rock" or "Pop" "Acts" that are NOT ACTING - but BEING great entertainers with great values on display - AND being professionals as far as smart, clean etjical treatment of yourselves AND your CUSTOMERS, we fans.
Godsmack's music lives. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! TAKE A BOW AGAIN, GENTLEMEN! WORLD CLASS!
Sully is an amazing talent
Its sad to hear that from my absolute most favorite Band since I was a kid, but if someone earns Everything good in the world its this guys. So the only thing I can do here is to say Thank You for all the awesome years of mind blowing music :D
Godsmack is always stays in our hearts❤they are golden . The best. Thank god i knew them in my life ❤so sad that they won’t put more songs out😢 literally got me crying 😢 😢
❤ GODSMACK ♾️ 🎵🎶🎶❤😊
i will never forget meeting Sully in North Reading Mass. I knew then that he was going somewhere
Much respect on his view on old bands and new releases.
I've thought this guy was the coolest shit since I was in like the 6th grade. He's held it down. I'm 34 now and I'm more of a fan now than I feel like I've ever been, because we're getting to see it come full circle.
You are awesome!!!! ❤️
Awsome you guys rock
Godsmack was always a great band and always will be thx for the great stuff and live performance its sad to hear but i understand the covid disease change alot people like me to we all have only one life we should do what we want to do with wish all members from the band the best 😎👍🤘
