Might be possible that, by slowly giving the husk bit by bit of themselves, they are allowing the husk themselves to become sentient through the human host, and then, when the parasite realizes what it is, is willing to become one and the same creature with the human of it's own volition, therefore the husk becomes the human as much as the human becomes husk. ...Aaaaand now I'm getting weird looks from my supervisor. Anyone know any captains willing to take a civilian to a station that hosts the church of the husk? This one is way too... Silly, if you catch my drift.
They are using gene modification and alteration. Their clothes have injectors with compounds, that keep husk parasite pacified, while also giving host regenerative abilities of a husk, and working on improved version of parasite, that doesn't require special means to be pacified and allows host to retain speech and mental faculties. However, so far husk needs to be finely tuned to genetic code of the host, to prevent full transformation, making achieving symbiosis a difficult goal.
I think the church is one of the best people to go with because they are really chill guys who just want to help make a race of people who are able to survive in Europa
As a follower of the church I can confirm we are not trying to cause harm, the music festival was a terrible look for us all and i am glad to hear a proper interview without prejudice
I believe the church of the husk is splitting, one group wants to turn us all into husks, abandon complex thought, emotions, speech. However, the other wants true symbiosis, they have succeeded, and I am speaking with them to accomplish the same. Also, there was a crew a few weeks ago, some say they managed to make it to the core of the planet. Can you ask them what they saw if you see them? Its something we are all interested in.
As explained in campaign, lowest ranks of Church often are simply too eager to become one with husk, which ends badly. "Husk parties", where participants consume husk eggs and offered calyxanide to prevent premature transformation, help initiate to get accustomed to whole "there is alien parasite in your throat" thing, both in mind and body, so they can accept symbiotic, altered version of husk without issues.
Appreciate the work you put into these, the new update truly changed the way we looked at things, and with the new secret (cannon?) ending we have a lot to think about
I started and have made serious headway in my first campaign on 1.0. I even named the run S.S. Hailstone, I imagine most colonists would ask what a hailstone is.
If my submarine had a radio your voice will be the one that accompanies me on the journeys through the deep deep oceans of Europa. Along with the sounds of charging hammerheads and panicked gunfires of course.
Great video! Inspiring me to pick barotrauma back up after the drastic changes from the older versions, And starting a group of friends to look into the parasitic infestation that is the Husk! Still looking for people that are willing to get stabbed. Side note, You have a small misspelling in the title!
Thanks for being one of the very few lore-based barotrauma channels, It's really helpful to be able to listen to it as well as play it.
I I know right really makes me enjoy the game more
I'd call these kind of strategy games legend generators, but there's probably a better term already in use

I find it interesting and nice that the church is getting serious in a good way and are actually working towards a peaceful goal.
Well yes, they are working towards taming husk, making it compatible with human host, but without host losing their intelligence and speech.

Thank you for another great lore video. I finished the game supporting the church, something I never thought I would do before 1.0.
yeah i loved the new lore with it so much i had to make this one first

Secret ending?
I started and have made serious headway in my first campaign on 1.0. I even named the run S.S. Hailstone, I imagine most colonists would ask what a hailstone is.
Given how most colonist on Europa are......... they're probably trying to find reasons not to shoot themselves in their quarters.

The Church will be given its proper... exposition
Bub (means good job in the language of BUB)

They will make us whole.
Funnily enough, I'd rather be a part of the Church of the Husk, then the Church of Unitology.
Now that the ancient are in the game are you going to make a new report?
