- This tutorial explains Boyle's Law - the link between pressure and volume for a gas held at a constant temperature.
Pressure is usually measured in pascals (Pa) and volume in metres cubed, however, other units will also work for the Boyle's Law formula, which is:
Pressure x Volume = constant.
This means that for different pressures and volumes in situations 1 and 2:
P1 x V1 = P2 x V2
... as long as the temperature of the gas is held constant.
