- A rare cinereous vulture found near the Singapore Botanic Gardens last week failed to fly after it was released from the bird hospital. It will remain here for further recuperation. Read more: str.sg/wgpp

Such a pity. A majestic bird like this should be so giddy to fly and soar. I guess it's not feeling good. Needs more rehabilitation.

Guess the vulture must have enjoyed itself too much at JBP that it is not willing to go; look at how at ease he is with the keepers around.. He shd stay on & b a "SG resident", we will definitely welcome him with open arms. 😜
All you guys are wrong. It can fly but it chooses to stay. Being a large wild predator yet it does not struggle when you guys touch it or carried it. Good food good weather good handlers here, i wouldn't leave if i were it 😁 It loves you guys it loves here it's not willing to leave just yet!

It was released on the 10th of January.
The cinereous vulture is a scavenger, not a predator. It feeds on carcasses.
Could it be that it was aware of the weather at the time thus reluctant to take flight, and that it was still unwell? In any case, it's one humongous bird that is hard to take my eyes off in this video.

Eat good , sleep good and shit smoothly and so many helpers cleaning it’s nest and clear it’s waste and even play with him , it has becomes a life style and daily routine , who the F want to leave ?

Might need to be off a hill. Big Vultures are lazy flyers, they usually need thermals for continuous flight. Could be full too.

You put Ulsain Bolt in a tiny cage for daysss, can't strech fully & constraint to the max. Then you take Bolt out & get him to do a 100m dash 😆😆😆

Why would it want to fly and have to hunt for its food while it has nice comfortable accommodations and 3 square meals a day and gets to hang out with its best friends. I don’t blame him / her.

Pity the bird. I think taking him to the sky needs heavy windy to lift up his wings for hovering. Therefore flight training before bring him to somewhere windy high cliff in Malaysia.
