I think what the Elbians did was actually the right way to break up a dominant hug box and keep things interesting. Over multiple years/wars the Elbians drifted from your alliance, forming a detente with former enemies. This eventually lead to the Elbians outright allying the Burgundians, to their gain, and with proper rp reasoning. This is a good turn in the campaign, given that so many games end because of meta hugboxes or arbitrary diplo decisions.
If anything I'm kinda annoyed at how Spud's alliance did some cheesy moves, like an early surrender to Scandi, or asking Spain and Russia to join as if this was some unfair, unstoppable threat, especially after they peaced out with Scandi. It ruined a lot of well planned diplo the Burgundians clearly had, and felt too meta for my taste.
If Scandinavia wanted to be on their side, he would have put his army in Burgundy and they all would have joined the war. There would have been no way to avoid it
@@nostalgic9597 I'd say that everything the alliance did was valid and reasonable gameplay wise: Scandi wasn't going to support Burgundy, Burgundy and the Elbians somehow didn't think Russia might be interested in getting their cores back from Poland or Spain supporting their allies, and Burgundy attaching themselves to the Elbians just sounds disastrous. I'd say what the Elbians did was worse; they got land for exchange of an alliance, then abandoned Burgundy and left them to effectively become a buffer. It's interesting to watch but it still feels scummy because Burgundy's potential allies are all trying to push it under the bus.
@@nostalgic9597 Like spud is saying there, scandi probably wanted this war to go on without having to be involved. If other people fight and lose stuff, you’re comparatively stronger after
Was Russia here. I was hung over as hell and following previous Player's Diplo which was dogshit. Luckily I got Pedialyte which woke me up so I undid the bobo diplo.
Not even mad about the backstab, that's the best thing that could have happened for the campaign's health and it's certainly much better than what is happening in the asia hugbox. It's interesting to see how the DM is about to become another "Single Monarchy" but, unlike other SM, things are going really well in mainland europe so even if they do end up losing england they would still be a very strong country.
The diplo from the Elbians is the same trap that the Italy player ran into during your ill-fated Napoleon's Legacy campaign. The player thinks he's crafty by betraying both sides, but in reality, he's just making sure he's the first one to get thrown under the bus. I can't imagine Scandi supporting him wholeheartedly after being responsible for the death of his alliance.
Scandi only has himself to blame. It’s one thing throwing your ally under the bus, it’s another thing pulling out a chair and opening a beer with your new friend and watching it happen.
Hey Spud I got a question. In so many of these games we see single monarchy in France. Ever seen it happen where they lose France but keep England? I know in alot of ways its a weirder situation for that to happen but I am curious.
Really missed out on the opportunity to make a a "I need more bullets" zoomer meme when you showed you aren't getting ammunition. Kind of dumb on your part.
The Ottomans are an unknown quantity, untested in European war for the most part, but they have grown a lot an I know they scale well. I wonder if we should expect to see more from them in the future.
They probably already have all the accepted pops they can get by that point, having already conquered Greece and the middle east, I don't think they will scale more than that.
How could Elbians betray Spud 😭? We could have two "Germans" great powers coexisting in a tense alliance for the rest of the campaign, but now Spudgun will simply kill the Elbians
I feel like pushing to get Alsace out of this war wouldve been reasonable, it was transfered to Elbians right before the war by Burgundy to get Elbians on their side. It isnt really Elbian land, they were willing to abandon Burgundy in the end, creates hard to defend shape for Elbians, and limits Danubian expansion into Burgundy. I believe it also has sulpher to help you with ammunition, but im not too sure about that. It couldve been presented as part of an agreement to look past the Elbian betrayal of the alliance as its not really Elbian land, that wouldve rightfully been taken by Danubia from Burgundy had the Elbians not joined Burgundy.
I don't understand Scandi's Beornia move. Sure it's funny, but Beornia can core and get accepted pops for the entire UK, including Scotland. People lie, but cores and accepted pops sure don't.
With what navy? Scandi rules the waves, controlling access to both the UK and being able to invade Beornia themselves at will. A much stronger alliance against Scandi would have to form for that move to be realistic, and at that point it would be unsporting to join against Scandi
That watch time from subscribers may not be a good thing Spud. Is the algorithm recommending enough of your videos to non-viewers? I think that's the actual tactic, rather than going after the 25%

It's hard when one of my largest sources of potential shared viewers slanders me among many of his own followers
