Got caught tonight at Save A Lot by the General Manager. She yelled at me thinking I was dumping, when she got closer she saw that I was retrieving from the dumpster. She told me to hold on and she would be right back. Here I am in my business clothes, grabbing a pineapple, and she comes back with 2 boxes of stuff that she was planning to throw out. She had no trouble with me being there as long as I didn't make a mess. I was able to get permission to continue diving. Yay!!!
Get anything good? Im kinda curious.

@@amandabudgets7485 congrats! I've had one or two hauls like that. The one i remember was when i found 4 spicy mac n cheese pot pies(the ones that are like three or four dollars each) and some really good tater tots, as well as 5 things of low sugar orange juice that had 4 more days. I grabbed them right after the employee threw them out and everything was still frozen/cold. Sadly it was only a temp dumpster while they were getting a new compactor because their old one broke or something. I really wish they'd kept the dumpster instead.
@@Raspopopo the best haul was a few weeks ago, 31 pounds of ground beef, still all good. I was strutting like a peacock for the rest of the day. Lol.

I do the same at Dollar General. I got 80 boxes of Hostess twinkies, zingers cheese danish and donuts. Today I got 60 boxes of name brand cereal and fed 6 families with cereal and 8 boxes of pop tarts and pop tart bites all good until Feb. nd july 2020
It is just so shameful that stores toss all this stuff instead of donating.

I am 3 weeks tomorrow 3 weeks cold turkey off dumpster diving as I am recovering from back surgery. I am in major withdrawal and cant wait to be able to drive. My terrific teenage son said "its ok mom. You can drive and I'll be your designated diver."
I give a 10 on the dismount. It takes true bslance to cath yourself and stay on your feet.

@@gptach yep. Worst part is 2nd surgery is less than two weeks away with a more extensive recovery. I am hoping I can at least look into a dumpster before my next surgery.

Mango: According to the National Mango Board, mango peels contains vitamins C and E and fiber. U know what I would have done when the garbage men came. After they opened it, I would have said, do you mind if I grab s few items for the senior home donation box, we r regular donators and they get so much joy from it. Garbage men love finding things themselves. I have seen many of them searching through bags as they throw them in the truck and take things out. One driver found a very old vintage lamp and showed it to me. So, they don’t care, they’re looker than u think. 🌝💛👌🏼

It just makes me so mad that all these stores just throw everything out. And if they are too lazy to donate the stuff they should at least leave the dumpster unlocked. I get that they don't want people to return stuff but how hard would it be to make a mark on the label or whatever with a sharpie? Makes me not want to shop at any of these stores. So glad you two save so much from the landfill and donate so much to homeless!! Those gnome ornaments are too sweet!!
Try putting the kale in cold water and let it sit for a while. It may bring it right back to life.

Re. The clumpy powdery stuff in the dumpster...it looks like Spillmate. I used to work for Big Lots stores and whenever there's a liquid spill, you sprinkle Spillmate powder over it and it turns the liquid into a solid so you can sweep it up. It's great stuff for the stores to use, but I don't know what chemicals are in it so I really wouldn't want to use any food that has it on it. So be sure to wash those mangos. I saw some of the powder on them. Luv your videos!

I finally found something with Clark Griswold on it this year for my husband, a set of drinking glasses. We found one pair of flannel lounging pants with Clark on them, but they were smalls, and every other size was sold out! A spatula would make me happy, because it would remind me of the love my hubby has for that movie. Great score!

Car conversations are the best! There have been countless times when I have been in the car with my husband or a friend and stayed in the car once we got home, either to finish listening to a song on the radio, or to continue a conversation. I did that a lot more when I had roommates, so the conversations were private, especially when I was in college. Also, I hope you never, never, NEVER find a body or body parts. I am trying to work up the nerve to dive, and that would make me never want to try it.
I’m in Dayton. He had put her dead body in the closet then in the fridge. He then put her in the apartment dumpster. A diver saw a shoe then saw it was attached to a body!
