The Executions Of The Nanking Massacre

- One of the most horrific war crimes ever carried out in History was what occurred inside of the city of Nanking in the build up to the Second World War in the Pacific. For years before the conflict broke out in Europe, the Japanese tried to captured parts of China and they assaulted the city of Nanking/Nanjing with brutality. It's believed that around 200,000 people were executed and slaughtered in the city.
The Japanese military committed a number of terrible war crimes, in which they targeted women and subjected them to a terrifying ordeal. The Japanese also burned down many buildings and looted, but large scale executions were carried out inside the city of Nanking.

Even today, the Japanese people know little to nothing about the massacre in Nanking.
And a large group who deny it happened or say only a small number of POWs were executed. Sad.
And if they were told, would they believe it?
@@rino7789 I think if they were actually a free country, yes. Their people are heavily monitored by their government. If they had our freedoms, yes. But they first have to discover their past and that takes freedom to learn … which is not what they have. So I guess the way things stand in Japan, the answer is probably not.
Do not use this thumbnail. This is a famous image of Chinese killing Chinese. It is unbelievable that this image is still used as "Nanking Massacre".
Even today, the Chinese people know little to nothing about the massacre in Nanking.
With the entry of the Japanese troops, peace returned to Nanjing, which had been torched and looted by the Chinese KMT, and Nanjing's population increased from 200,000 to 250,000 in one month as Nanjing citizens who had fled outside the city returned to Nanjing.
This is the actual footage filmed inside & outside Nanking Castle for about a month from the day after Nanking fell.
There are no bloodstains, corpses, you can see peaceful Chinese people.

I visited the museum and the memorial hall of the Victims of the Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders in Nanking, China, in 2017. It was a sorrow and tragedy for several hundreds of thousands of Chinese slaughtered by brutal Japanese troops. The real hero was an American Episcopal priest, John Magee, who managed to smuggle films and pictures that he filmed during the Nanjing Massacre out of Japanese-occupied China. His film and photo evidence showed the truth to the world, which Japan vehemently denied and lied. John Magee contributed to saving thousands of Chinese lives throughout the event.
The women of Nanking were a little more than assaulted, I believe the word you’re looking for begins with R. Is that a UA-cam thing.

If you want to learn more about this a good book is The Rape of Nanking, by Iris Chan. It’s available both in print and as an audiobook.
Excellent read. Everyone should read it.
Good read. Sadly, the author killed herself before finishing a book about Bataan.
Yes. So sad. I bet her book about Bataan would have been great.@@einerreklov4304
Yes, I read the book "The Rape of Nanking" a long time ago, and it led me to visit Nanking in 2017. It was interesting, but it was a horrific tragedy for slaughtering several hundred thousand Chinese by brutal Japanese troops.

This is why I haven't a shred of sympathy for the innocent of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Innocent people can be in Japan too. What the American Army have done in Iraq is not the American People. Have some empathy and sympathy for those who caught in the cross hairs.
The heart is deceitful above all thing, and desperately wicked: who can know it? (Jeremiah 17: 9)
It is still the same today - just look at the news!
Without God, what are we but a guide to our own destruction. (St. Augustine)
This may have been an horrific act, but ultimately more lives were saved by the atomic bombs than if the war had continued.
I do get that the atomic bomb ushered in a new and horrific era in warfare. I'm also glad America got ahold of that technology before Germany or Japan. I'm just unmoved by the numbers. More innocents were killed in Nanking than in both atomic bombs combined, and those in Nanking died far more horrible deaths. The fire-bombing of Tokyo was more deadly than either of the nukes, and far more painful to the innocents. I am completely unimpressed with the sad tale of the poor innocents instantly vaporized by the nukes. Sorry, not sorry.
@@bholmes5490Iraq invaded Kuwait and killed thousands of civilians. Bin Laden was upset at America because it used Saudia Arabia as military bases. He didn't like Westerners killing Muslims and using holy ground. The whole thing is totally stupid
It never ceases to amaze and disgust me what we are capable of doing to each other 😢
My great-grandmother died a few years back at age 96. She was in Yuyao, a city less than 400km south. She managed to survive by hiding in a water barrel.
The book, The Rape of Nanking, is a devastating documentary of these events. It’s horrific.
That book is a creative book, not a documentary.
Both the photographs and the content of the book have been found to be fake.
Also, it wasn't like eons ago, it was just 2 generations ago. A Zebra doesn't change its colors that fast if at all.
I read one story years ago so might be remembering the details wrong but during the occupation of China, one was that group of Japanese soldiers had a man tied up to a tree, still alive but they’d cut strips off flesh, fed it to nearby dogs (or maybe theirs). Brutal things happened back in that war and no side was particularly innocent.
It is the famous Chinese punishment of lynching. The illusion of the "Nanking Massacre" hides quite a few Chinese crimes. This happens because Westerners cannot distinguish between Asians.
@@TTT-fc9iuthere were chinese and koreans in the IJA too, but Japan is still 100% guilty.
I think the Allies were a hell of a lot more innocent when it came to war crimes and pure evil brutality. You trying to make the American soldier and allied nations on par with the pure evil sadistic bastards of the Japanese army is offensive.
the picture of people with subjective truth no morals
Never forgive.
Never forget.
Forgiveness is a sign of weakness.
I do believe in forgiveness, but not to someone that denies that it ever happened. Which is what the Japanese people do.
A friend’s father was a prisoner of the Japanese during WW2; he would never talk about it afterwards.
The Japanese never really paid for such crimes, thanks to US military commander Dugout Doug.
The Soviets took care of the Japanese in China.
They were not tried because the crime did not exist in the first place. Don't make it a conspiracy theory.
no mount of denial can erase Japan's barbarism @@TTT-fc9iu
As a sexual assault survivor, I'm totally appalled by this behavior of the Japanese. No wonder their behavior has been labeled as the rape of Nanking, given what they did to the whole entire city. I feel so bad for the whole entire city of Nanking - not only back in the 1930's, but also today as well. OMG, when will we learn that we can't do this kind of stuff to each other? I mean, seriously?

The Japanese government likes to pretend this never happened
Exactly. The United States education curriculum also refuses to teach this subject.
Because it contains quite a bit of propaganda. The photos are also very much false. Some of the photos show Chinese crimes as a matter of course.
the Chinese numbers had no problem recovering did they
Iwane Matsui did NOT give the order to massacre the Chinese in Nanking, it was instead Prince Asaka who had ordered it. Matsui was surprised and shocked by the level of destruction and crime done by the Japanese army during the time he was sick.

World History covers this in much better detail and more accurate research. I get that Mark Felton’s accent is annoying even for a Brit he is very nasal and expressionless.
Most Japanese killing was driven by racial hatred of the world, but the Chinese people got under the Japanese nails by being indistinguishable from them. The same problem fueled Irish revolts.
The Japanese considered themselves the only pure race.

Besides the bomb, which didn't kill nearly as many people as the many whole cities we burned to the ground with carpet bombing, did the Japanese pay? Were there war crime trials? Were people held accountable.? Hell, we rebuilt their country because that's what America does, we are not savages.
sorry but what about the chin massacres aganist TIBET and the MUSLIMS
I am so sick of listening to the British accents used in commentaries. If it shown in America speak English
Not sure how to tell you this, but, he is speaking English.
It's the British making these documentaries, so what do you expect?
I love the accent
Hey Bear. I'm not sure if you're a troll, a parody, you're being humorous, or you're just a gobshite, but I'll try to explain.
England is a country, and our native language is English.
Britain is a political union of the three countries that make up the bulk of the main island in the archipelago, and it dates from the accession of the Scottish King James Stuart to the throne of England following the death of Elizabeth Tudor ( That's a Welsh name BTW).
That's Great Britain, as in all of the main island, and it has nothing to do with how good James thought Britain was ( see also Greater London, Greater Manchester et al).
Both the Tudors and the Stuarts were instrumental in the conquezt and colonisation of Ireland, which is why some in Ireland now consider themselves British.
Nobody speaks British or British English. The English speak English, the Scots speak Scots ( derived like English from Middle English ) and Gaelic, and the Welsh speak Welsh and English.
And the Irish speak Irish and English. Or should we consider it another language in the same way we do Scots?
PS The lad who does these videos hasn't a strong regional accent, but I'd hazard a guess at the Midlands.
That's the modern English Midlands and not the British Midlands of James Stuart, which are now known as the Border Counties.
What's crazy is the world has allowed Japan to create a huge military again and the Germans are the richest country in Europe
Japan’s military is 8th in the World.
Why has the world allowed the United States to have the most powerful military in the world and to be one of the wealthiest countries with one of the most powerful economies in the world with their history of genocide against indigenous people and a 400-year history of slavery?
Are you naive enough to believe that modern-day people in Germany and Japan have the attitude and morals of people 80 years ago and that they are incapable of change?
Don't buy Japanese
Allies
