I’ve gotten more compliments with this fragrance than any other I own. That includes heavy hitters like Aventus and Tuscan Leather

I purchased this last year when it was released. I own a couple other Varvatos fragrances and, wary of its performance, opted for the smaller bottle of this. Even though this isn’t a winter fragrance, I still wore it then and as I near the last few sprays, I’m kicking myself for not purchasing the larger bottle. Fantastic fragrance with good performance and am always complimented when I wear it, especially now in late spring. Will without a doubt purchase again. Great review, Jeremy.

This fragrance has already become my favorite. The opening is very bright, fresh, and evoking, but the most beautiful beautiful part is in its dry down, after 1 hour mark. And the bonus is in its longevity. I got solid 8 hours easily on my shirt and about 6-7 hours on my skin.

Love this fragrance, my wife got this for me on our anniversary last month. My only complaint is it doesn't last long, it's not an all day fragrance but it does smell amazing!

And Artisan Aqua is a refreshing scent for the summer. But the Pure version has the best of both worlds.

Very nice citrus blast in the opening, fueled by the usual bergamot petit grain combo. Instead of neroli, it’s lemon and orange, but the effects is still the same. Very refreshing, sour, bitter green citrus fruits. The base is soft and woody with just a little of the bright green opening hanging on. Seems like a great summer scent. Perfect for casual but it’s also refined enough for some formal wear. Projection is good during the first couple hours then it settles down on the skin. That final phase lasts up until 4 to 5 hours. To me it’s a must have just for the mesmerizing smell of it alone. But I guess to each their own when it comes down to this fragrance.
I just bought this one yesterday, already got a lot of compliments just walking around the mall. It's a great pick.

I love most JV fragrances. I received 2 compliments on the first day I wore JV Artisan Blu. I also own the original JV, Artisan Acqua and Dark Rebel. The only one I tried that I didn't like was Dark Rebel Rider.
I like the bottle, something rustic yet sophisticated about it. Very outdoorsy, summer, beach...

I am with ya! I would be so nervous to walk up to people and get them to smell a fragrance. Jeremy is a good looking guy so obviously nobody is hesitant to be in his company and let him pitch his scent survey. I'm actually jealous these random people get to meet him, where as someone like myself would love to meet him. I have tried this one. It is very nice and although designer, it certainly breaks into niche territory. Nice review as always!

The original has been my favorite of all time for years!
beautiful, well-made, rich and high-quality ingredients, relatively cheap to buy, no coughing or synthetic notes in it and all this with a new DNA: "woody/citrusy"
Sour/bitter smell that needs the heat to turn it sweeter and stronger, easily casualy to wear, but sadly not very versatile, but very unique.
This is not a 10/10 masterpiece like your Savauge/Aventus/ADG/ADG Profumo, but also not your typical cheap cologne.
A safe buy imo and worth having for a change of pace.

I have more compliments from this scent during summer than any other any other fragrances combined together including Dior Sauvage. If it has long performance, it could be best summer fragrance of all time.

Ah la promenade des anglais. I used to live not far from Nice, near Menton. I tried this in a store in London last month, I thought it was delicious & refreshing, really something special going on there, one of those scents that you want to keep on smelling (Can't find it here in France though).

I like this...very fresh and citrusy. However, there is a good hint of musk that smells a tiny bit pheromonal. My wife thinks it’s nice but now thing special. Not a ton of sillage and projection is just ok. Performance is average but that’s to be expected from citrus scents...just layer after dry-down.
This stuff didn’t wow me at first but I’m starting to like it more and more. Easily the best John Varvatos frag. As always well done Jeremy! #fragrancearmy

I did a blind buy and I just got the bottle today... Doesn't smell like its going to be long lasting at all. Its smells fresh, but not like a beast or super compliment getter, in my opinion. I will wear and look for reactions, but smells ok to me.
Smells very good and masculine but just doesn’t last very long at all. I get about 3 hours and that’s on a good day.

I bought because of this video. It is long lasting. I didn’t get any compliments to my face, or peripherally (hmm, something smells gooood!)
The sprayer is cheap though. Sometime it squirts, sometimes it sprays properly.

I tried this out on a paper strip and wasn't a huge fan to begin with. I sat the strip in my kitchen and forgot about it. When I returned to the kitchen it smelled amazing. I couldn't stop sniffing the strip after that! Haha. I returned and sprayed myself to see how it performed and it seems to have some great longevity on my skin. So I went back and picked up a bottle today. Thanks for bringing this fragrance to my attention.
