  • Today we're out on the Bay of Quinte fishing with the flexi jig. We tried for walleye, but ended up catching ourselves a slew of huge sheephead!

Very good eating. I usually only keep them up to 16 inches. Can't tell it from bass when fried up.

I fish BoQ all year, i launch from family property near pickerel park Hay Bay. Trolling cat tail sinkers and crawler harness(or crankbaits) is the way to go for walleye during the summer! But the sheephead go for those too a lot of the time. They are most active toward mid to late summer I find. Great video, hope you can do more videos on the Bay!

Caught my first ever Sheepshead last week at the Beaverdams and fell in love... I heard they aren't easy to find from shore though unfortunately :(

Drums are great eating. Most people toss or kill them. As good as bass or crappie.

Wanted to ask how you tie your braided line to the leader? If you could make a video on that? Cheers

Hey there Ivo, I will finally be fishing the NY side of the lower Niagara river at the end of this March. Can you provide any tips for that time period? What species should we target? Bottom bounce egg sacks? Spinners? Any tips would be appreciated.

end of March is a great time for Steelhead on the lower, and if the walleye have not started spawning yet, the walleye bite will be on as well. Bottom bounce roe bags or beads will be very productive (yarn flies or flies also work well on the bottom bounce) for steelhead as will the spinners, if you can find an area that it can be fished (i.e. current wise) The Spinners will also catch walleye :) Hope you have a great trip

I have no idea why so many people target walleye when just about everything in the lake is way more fun to catch.
