- I am sharing another another easy pattern to create a pleasing design on a tag, journal card or even a page in your junk journal. Templates just make the design process easier when you need a bit of a prompt to get started. This design is easily adaptable to any theme or idea and to many materials you may have in your stash. Just use whatever you have and follow the general lines and areas of focus to make a beautiful tag.
Check the playlist on my channel for three other tag templates! Thanks for watching.

Another great lesson…very helpful. TY
Thanks so much Alice - I’m glad it was helpful.
So very lovely! I knew there was a design idea behind making tags pretty, but it evades me! TYFS and looking forward to more!
Thank you Sheri. I wish I knew more about why it evades you? Only because I wish I could help you. Can you explain what you mean? Is it because you don’t like the way your tags turn out? No pressure to answer. I just wish I could help.
@@BeAgainBooks Mostly, I think I have a tendency to start with pretty paper and then don't want to cover it. I feel I am having better luck if I wait to embellish tags/cards for a specific page in the journal, but that takes a lot of time.
@sheri wickham - Ah - haha, yes I get not wanting to cover prettiness! And I also understand waiting to embellish so that you don’t have a bunch of elements sitting around. I’m actually the same way. Unless it’s to illustrate a video, I don’t make ahead much. I do some foundations ahead, but I wait to make it match a journal for the most part. Hugs to you! Thanks for your good support.
I love this template idea! Your tags look great! I have a bunch of tags that need some decorating. I'll give this template a try. Thanks for sharing your design ideas! They are very helpful.
Thank you Katrina! I’m glad this may be helpful.
gorgeous results here :)
Thank you Laura!
Kathleen, I'm really struggling to understand this. Your finished projects are always delightful, but apparently, I need more examples. I've made 14 tag bases, but they seem incomplete. I've watched this one twice now, so maybe I'll watch your series and then try them again. I love the challenge!!! Thank you@
Carol - It could be that you are just not reading my mind, haha. I’m sorry to be confusing. The concept behind this one is just that horizontal band that bisects the rectangular tag shape - that is the first element and forms the foundation of the tag. It creates three sections as the foundation of the tag. There other two other elements that make the three shapes in the template. The shapes that kind of stand on top of the foundation. The small rectangular focal shape (which repeats and accents, in a smaller way, the lines of the tag outline shape) and the curved line element (which functions as a contrast to all the straight lines found in the rectangular shapes). These two elements are arranged on top of the bisecting shape and they all touch at that pivot point. Again taking advantage of the number three as a grouping. All else that I’ve added in any of the examples is just there to add variety and interest to whichever design I’m creating. If your tags seem incomplete to you, please don’t hesitate to add whatever makes you feel comfortable with your work - my own thoughts or ideas notwithstanding. Art can be so personal and I only offer these “patterns” to kind of kickstart creativity for people. If this template isn’t working for you, just skip it - you won’t hurt my feelings, honestly. I am happy to try to answer specific questions as well, if you can figure out what might be making you frustrated.
Wonderful lesson, so inspiring!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks again.
