He’s a legend. Don’t care what people say. It’s also a brain injury that changed his personality but his acting chops never changed. He’s been in over a hundred movies that were classics
Always liked Gary. First movie I saw him in was Gumball Rally as a little kid. He's always been funny, unpredictable, and an American icon! God bless him. God bless them both, great interview.
A friend of mine and I went to the hospital when he had his accident. Of course we couldn’t get in, but we sat outside. We met him right after Buddy Holly. It was a bar on Hollywood Boulevard and we wandered into it. I was old enough that my friend wasn’t. He came up to us and smiled and asked us what we were doing in the bar. He had the biggest smile and the whitest teeth.
never really heard of him till the accident. lol recognized young jake from Christmas with the cranks though. saw it last night and screamed THAT'S Jake Busey!
Just letting you all know that I have been showing your comments to Jake Busey and he truly appreciates the love for his father and their respective acting careers. Jake is one of my best friends and I have produced three movies with him and he is truly an awesome person. He takes his big great dane Callie with him everywhere. When we made Bikers VS Werewolves in Nevada, we shared a suite at The Palms Hotel Casino and Callie slept on the bed with Jake. Remember that next time you get a room in Vegas. You never know what happens on those beds, lol. By the way, Gary is doing amazing for a man in his 80's, who has snorted mountains of coke in his lifetime and slammed his head into the side walk after a motorcycle accident. And I grew tired of the Ai videos of Gary looking like a lunatic and wanted to show everyone, and especially his fans, that there is still a lot of brains left in Gary's hardened skull. Jake and I truly thank you all for your kind comments. ---Robert Rhine
I have to say you are very lucky! I have never really cared to meet people in the lime light, but Jake and Gary are cut from a different cloth. Conversation with them would be very interesting. Seem to be very good people!
💥🤔 i would like to tell him about the time i met his father. Its a pretty incredible story just because of when and how it took place. I was working at a gas station on Christmas eve. Around 11pm or so a black Mercedes pulled up and a guy hopped out with a big london fog type jacket on. It gets pretty cold some bakersfield nights. I didn't notice who it was until he was standing in front of me with a strange look on his face. He looked up at the ceiling and than back to me and says.... You hear that song?? I did a little movie with Mel Gibson that stated with this song. It was called Lethal Weapon. You ever heard of it?? I said.. Yes of course I know that movie. He told me he was on the way to a party and paid for his gas. Pumped it and came back in for a receipt or change. I quietly apologized and asked if he would sign a receipt paper for me. Unfortunately he said no because other people would bug him also and he had to get back on the road. I said ok and thanked him for coming to our store and for the cool movie stuff he had done. Very chill experience and crazy how it lined up nicely. I bet he remembers that song playing at a gas station he walked into Christmas eve all those years ago. 👍🤠🤘
I was gonna comment the same thing. Silver Bullet still scares me and he was great in that. I also loved Gary in Point Break and Under Siege and The Buddy Holly movie was good too. He is a legend.
I seriously just rewatched this maybe a week ago. I hadn't seen it in maybe 20 years? Still a great movie. Love the part where him and Corey Haim are playing poker, "Piss on the yankees, piss on the indians, piss on the-"
Jake is hilarious and loves his father…. I truly think he should be in so many movies. He is just so funny naturally. Gary is a professional and so great…
I'm feeling really dumb right now cause I had no idea that was Gary Busey's son lol, I've seen Jake in a ton of movies and stuff ofc but just never put 2 and 2 together I guess
Thank you for this. A real interview, no loaded questions or agendas. It was nice to meet both of them for the first time. I would have them over anytime.
I really enjoyed this interview.Hadn't seen much of Gary or Jake in a long time.Glad you 2 are together and doing well.I hope Jake gets a new truck.Best to luck to both of you.
One of my favorite movies is Silver Bullet. The relationship between Marty, and Red, actually reminds me so much of my uncle, and I. Gary nailed the roll of Red.
Was expecting an A hole fest, but there’s something beautiful here. An eccentric loving father and a wonderful son. Very moving in many subtle ways. 🙏🏻
This was an outstanding video to watch. The Buseys are true gems. For being 80+, Gary still has a strong head on his shoulders I don't care what anyone says. You can also tell he still truly loves his son and is a proud father.
I'm so happy to see he's living happy with his sons. With him sometimes behaving outside "the sociocultural norms" due to a TBI it's really hard to see how we as a society judge him. Not fair to him or many others that suffered from TBI's. He's a gem.
I grew up watching gary buseys movies. When i was little, i knew him as "uncle red" from silver bullet. Hes always been my favorite actor. When i was 11, i mailed a letter to him asking if i could be in a movie with him. Lol. I was sent with my reply and a signed photo of him. Im 40 now and i still have that photo. This was a really nice video to watch.
Great actors loved listening to their stories. Gary busey has an amazing memory for his age I'm 47 and I struggle to remember things 🫣 great interview.
Man. From seeing Gary on Gunsmoke reruns as a tiny kid with my own dad by my side, to Buddy Holly, Silver Bullet, and on and on- And Jake's career taking off with so many great roles- Starship Troopers, Tomcat, The Frightners, newer stuff like Pig Killer and Nazis at the center of the earth. Can't forget Twister. Praying his Truck gets back on the road soon. I know the battle to well. I can't believe Pops is in his 80s and Jake is 10 years past me so he's 53 I think? Where does time go. They both look great for there age. Thanks brother again for doing this.
Gary Busey was a great actor. He has certainly has had his share of troubles. Glad to see his son Jake with him. He also is a great actor, and seems well grounded. I hope Gary has good caretakers.
I really enjoyed watching father and son both together, unscripted. I remember Gary and was a fan of the Teddy Jack Eddy performance, it was a real thrill to watch his career over the years, someone from Tulsa Oklahoma making it big i thought. I found out later that he wasn’t from Tulsa. His son is gifted as well, they both shared in this video, it’s unscripted, and just works. I wish them both the best, i feel like im watching members of my family walk down memory lane even though neither would know me from Adam, call me a fan, i guess, so thanks for posting the video! Very worth watching folks! 😎👍
Good to see you two. Thank you for the work you have both done, and making us all escape the reality of our own lives for a few moments with each one of them. 🙏
for an 80 yr old? yeah. i dont wanna sound like a mom but if we use our brains while we are young end educate ourselves our brains will never deteriorate. i had a friend whos mom lived well into her eighties and was still sharp as a tack

Hell yeah. I studied theater at Coffeyville Community College. We had a little Gary Busey shrine backstage. He and Jake have always been favorites of mine.
Priceless, absolutely priceless interview with two of my favourite human who are totally unique and thank god for them. My father took me to see The Gumball Rally in 1976, i was seven years old and became an instant fan of Gary Busey from that point on and when i found out Jake acted too i couldn’t get over how great he was with those captivating eyes of his especially in movies like Contact and The Hitcher 2
They didn't add "The Hitcher 2" in his acting credits for somereason, there could be more but I ain't sure, I just knew this one because it crossed my mind when I was reading his acting credits during, well, the credits. lol
I watched this before work today and it gave me life!!!! The relationship with these two is something most sons and fathers wish they had… the way Gary is so enamoured on every word Jake says and so engaged and proud is so lovely. So quite honestly, had you not known they were actors, it was like sitting around in their house for a visit on any given day… no egos, no entitlement… so modest and so sweet. For a man who has bank, their living room was just a normal, regular, semi cluttered cozy living space. I loved it! Reminded me of my mom’s house. Cozy and warm… Jake reminds me soooo much of Josh Homme! Theirs Will Ferrell and Chad Krueger - Jake Busey and Josh Homme! 🎸 🥁 Thank you Richard for going over to Chat with these two and share your visit with us … how fun!
Very interesting! I haven’t seen an interview with Gary and Jake in a long time. I hope Jake can get bk to acting if he chooses too. God Bless Gary! Thank you for the many hours of movie entertainment!❤
Beautiful interview & so wonderful to see Gary deep into Spitituality giving him Peace. I hope your ex-wife agrees to see you as I see you are seeking forgiveness through the Love you feel towards her. Forgiveness frees us to continue Loving!!!
Nothing but love for Gary, but Jake is fantastic. His role in Justified is probably my favorite Jake Busey role. Really made an impact, and his character went out with a bang.
Drop Zone 👍🏻👍🏻😎 These two will always have a special place in my heart. Excellent interview cause it's Genuine so Thank you n well done. Blessings to you All n to your loved one's friends. 💙
Found this via Jake’s Instagram. Sometimes, you meet people who, for whatever reason, when the sun shines on them, anything is possible. Yes, they have terrible times, but they also have amazing times. It takes bravery to step off the regular path, or at Gary puts it, being on a smooth path and letting things slide by as you experience them. I love Jake’s acting too. I really think we are in need of a good werewolf or vampire movie with Jake. That leather top hat of his needs some screen time too.
Funny you shouod mention werewolf movie. He's in Bikers VS Werewolvs coming out soon which I produced. Watch trailer: ua-cam.com/video/5r0P1aIT8D8/v-deo.html
This was a fantastic interview thank you. I have been a Gary Busey follower long before there was followers. I have seen Quite a few movies with Jake in them too. Both are great actors! My favorite movie with Gary is Silver Bullet the Stephen King novel. That was the first scary movie I sat threw with my son so he didn't get scared. Never forget Gary's reaction when he found out there was a werewolf and it was coming into the house. I still laugh at that. I love both father and son and I wish the both great times to come together cause they deserve it for all that they have given us fans. Cherish these times together. I hope I am as sharp as Gary is right now at 80 and been through as much as he has. Thank you Gary and Jake!
Never watched Gary's early stuff... never would have pegged him as a singer! Him and his son are awesome. It's a shame we don't see Jake in more movies, I love his comedic style
Badass interview! I wasn’t expecting to see such a loving and respectful relationship between Gary & Jake. Gary is a legend and a truly insightful man. His memory is on point and Jake has a way of telling stories that pulls you in and keeps your attention. Both men are real, fascinating and lovely. Keep rocking it boys and continue taking care of each other, god bless! ❤
My favorite role for these two is Gary as Angelo Pappas in Point Break-"Utah...get met 2(meatball sandwiches) and Jake as Johnny Bartlett in The Frighteners- "got me a score of 12 sir, that's 1 more than Stark weather"
I'm so glad you guys did this. Truly*. Thank you. It's always great to hear the stories of your life. I absolutely love Gary. So many great films!. 👍 I absolutely loved when Gary Busey did the elusive target vote for HITMAN vs Gary Cole. I was dying laughing. You had my vote!!!!. And I absolutely love Jake of course!. Starship Troopers, Identity, The Frighteners especially*. That was dope!. And that scene sitting down with Casper Van Dien at lunch in Starship Troopers, that smile you give. Hilarious!. Love you as well buddy. Amazing people 👏 truly.
Point Break! The Buddy Holly Story! Mr Joshua! Carney !Jake was in Enemy of the State, and Contact. Gary is something special. He's easy to poke fun at but there's something to special about him.
He’s a legend. Don’t care what people say. It’s also a brain injury that changed his personality but his acting chops never changed. He’s been in over a hundred movies that were classics
Agreed. Huge talents. Both Gary and Jake!
I 100% agree Chris! If you don’t have a love for Gary then step off! So many classics and amazing films he made Incredible!

@@GirlsandCorpsesFilms speaking of, i had a movie role in mind for GARY but the idea was stupid cause i figure now he retired, right?
This was such a treat to watch. Both of them are such great conversationalists and genuine. I hope we see more from them both.
I'll let Jake know what you said.
I felt nostalgia watching this.great interview.hope Gary's stays healthy and his son gets some more movie roles
These are two guys that would fun to hang out with and just listen to their stories
Never watched Gary's early stuff... never would have pegged him as a singer! Him and his son are awesome. It's a shame we don't see Jake in more movies, I love his comedic style
Great interview! Thanks for sharing!
Love Gary and Jake Busey.
Anytime i see a movie with Gary Busey i look forward to watching his scenes. He is truly magic on the screen. One of a kind actor!
Love both of these guys and their work. They add color to our lives.
