    I’m amazed by your space and I love videos with larger play spaces because even if it’s not possible for a family to do everything you’ve done there’s so much inspiration to pull from here and that’s so important! I think people with larger spaces shy away from sharing their homes because there’s so many negative comments made and that’s a shame because we’re all using the resources we have to be a good parent regardless of whether our space is larger or smaller. I really appreciate you sharing.

    I love to organize so I love this perfect playroom...the wooden boxes, wooden everything...the rainbow...the human body omg. This is how toy stores should look (if they even still exist)...it's just too perfect (for kids). And I'm not hating at all bc I love this playroom. With all that space tho I would have to have some sensory swings, rock climbing etc...and maybe some color.

    This is a beautiful space. Very thought out.
    I do think it’s important to point out the shear cost of a space like this. Even the best deals, buying used, bulk purchasing, wholesale etc- the value alone is well over 10k (furniture, rugs, art, in addition to consumables + Montessori supplies). Not to mention the hours of research and curating of materials and studying the methodology behind Montessori.
    For sure a value when you factor in cost of tuition / driving for a school.
    Again, great job! A true inspiration for Montessori at home.
    I’m considering taking classes and getting certified so I can properly work with my daughter at home as the closest true Montessori is over an hour away (in no traffic).
    The cost of certification and supplies- I’d still come out ahead comparing to tuition and the hours we would have to commute. Not to mention selling the high quality durable items when we are done.
    .

    • @allhart
      @allhart  3 роки тому +3

      Absolutely true. The cost of certification and supplies is incredibly expensive. But in the long run, it’s time and money well spent in my opinion. You are able to spend time watching your children grow and learn and if you decide to teach professionally later on, you have the option to do so, and if you don’t, the resale value of Montessori materials is really good. I guess it really just depends. Either way, whether you decide to get certified or not, your children will definitely benefit from having you there with them and having your full attention. ❤️

    Absolutely amazing spaces 😍 Seriously though, do your kids keep these areas organized (& if so - tell me your secrets!), or are you spending hours cleaning & organizing every night?? I have 3 girls (5, 7 & 9) that I homeschool eclectically with Waldorf/Montessori influences (so have many of your items) and it’s a constant battle to keep our spaces clean & organized 🤪

    • @allhart
      @allhart  2 роки тому +1

      Both of my babies are organized. The key is to start when they’re young. We always played with one to two activities at a time. While they’re engaged in an activity I don’t care that there are things on the floor. For example if my son is playing with his train set, and peg people and houses at one time and the train goes all over the room…so long as they are playing with it they can do whatever they want with their creativity. Once they are done, they know it needs to be put back. When they were younger I would help them. Now, they both know to place things back so the room is ready for the next time they want to play. They’ve also learned that the more toys they take out, the more they have to clean up, which isn’t as much fun. We also have a “clean up” song that we sing while cleaning up. Sometimes you have to make cleaning fun, especially when they’re little. ❤️

    • @allhart
      @allhart  3 роки тому +1

      When I say I immersed myself in everything I could find that was Montessori, I mean...I’m not kidding. I read books, watched videos, listened to podcasts, took some online classes and even volunteered as a student teacher at a wonderful Montessori school. I was lucky enough to be gifted some wonderful resources from former Montessori teachers and now that is what I use as a guide to teach my children. My advice would be to read as much as you can on Montessori early education practices. I’ll try and do a video soon on some of the things that helped me. I would like to help as many Montessori homeschooling mamas and papas as I can. I know how difficult it can be to navigate all the information that’s out there and even more so, to know how to apply it. How old is your little one? ❤️

      @@allhart Wow! You really have done a lot of work in regards to this. Which definitely shows in your videos too. My little one is about to be 2 years old. For kindergarten, and ongoing, she'll be attending a traditional school, so will be trying to do Montessori at home as much as possible. Cant wait for the video to come out on what helped you with homeschooling.

      @@allhart that's awesome! Do you feel like they ever get bored or are they usually always excited and engaged with the same materials? I ask because I love the idea of leaving everything out and not having to have a separate space where I keep everything to rotate. But I guess it also depends on people's space limitations.

    How do you source the toys/activities, or choose which ones you will purchase? ☺️

    • @allhart
      @allhart  4 місяці тому +1

      I choose activities/toys that I feel would interest them and that I could utilize in more than one way. I love open-ended toys for that reason, as they can be used in so many different way. Sometimes I’ll find items through Montessori groups, EBay, or Facebook marketplace etc, other times I’ll just purchase new through official Montessori stores. Try and choose toys that will help with specific lessons. That brings the sensory element to whatever you’re teaching. Hope that helps ❤️

    What about for. 3 year old and 1 year old. Every room I try to create, my 1 year old just pulls everything from the shelf!!

    • @allhart
      @allhart  Рік тому

      If you have both children sharing a shelf then I would suggest placing the youngest child’s activities on the bottom and the older child’s activities on the top shelf. At one year old it is completely normal for them to pull things from shelves. If anything, I would suggest adding activities where she’s meant to pull things and that way it’s a positive activity for her. I would also limit the amount of toys on her shelf so she doesn’t get too overwhelmed. Hope that helps ❤️

    • @allhart
      @allhart  3 роки тому +1

      That is most definitely not the intention. Everyone’s Montessori journey is different and looks different. The fact that you are taking the time to watch these videos and gather information for your children makes you the complete opposite of a bad mom. If you have any questions, I am more than happy to help. Your children are lucky to have you. Take this journey slowly, one day at a time, one activity at a time. Being present and observant of your child’s needs is the most important thing. ❤️

      You don't need to homeschool and have an amazing collection of expensive wooden toys to be a good mom. I hate videos like this tbh. We need more videos of apartment play areas. Lol

      Maria Montessori's first school was in a very poor area and her methods showed that the achievement gap among the children born into poverty and those born into priveledge could be closed....Fast-forward to our society now and the word "montessori" is associated with exclusivity, money & privilege. People think of expensive wooden toys that are aesthetically pleasing, but this isn't even what this learning philosophy is about. Most of the exclusive fancy Montessori schools we see today arnt even following the true Montessori methods. The internet is full of videos and hashtags of "montessori" playrooms, homeschool classrooms but the concepts are wrong alot of the time. There are so many different early learning & development theories to choose from. Waldorf is another one the rich are making exclusive. We can't have anything. Lol

    I'm just confused at how your kids don't absolutely ruin the space. I love it it's beautiful but my son would literally dump everything on the floor every single time. I am truly shocked. Your children are saints lop I could not even have 3% of all that out simultaneously. I have to hring things out one at a time. I'm hoping my 6 month old daughter ends up being less crazy !

    • @allhart
      @allhart  Рік тому

      I would definitely continue as you’re doing. Only bring out a few items at once, show them how they’re supposed to be used. If they’re open ended toys then they can play with them freely. Repetition is key. Then show them where that item is supposed to go at the end of their play time. Every item needs to have a “home” and they need to know where that “home” is. It will take time and effort but it’s worth it. As they start to learn you can add more activities to their areas. ❤️

    It's beautiful, but it's not a playroom, it's a play HOUSE! My kids could be in there for an entire year and not use all those materials

    • @allhart

      We are lucky enough to have a wonderfully large space. Keep in mind that these materials and toys are not meant to be used for a period of one year, but are meant to grow with my children as they learn and develop. Many of these items can be repurposed and used in a variety of different ways for many years to come ❤️

    I really love your content. There‘s just one thing I find a bit annoying. You label almost everything as „Little“. I‘ve recognized this with other youtubers also and just don‘t feel it‘s a good thing. It somehow says „not Important/just toys/not for real“ etc. I‘m highly confident that‘s not what you want to say though 🤔 maybe it‘s just because I‘m German this subcontext only ads due to translation?

      When I mention the word “little” I’m referring to the scale/size of an item, NOT to diminish an objects importance. ❤️

    Hi! I noticed that you don’t have your desk area anymore in your new tour? May I ask why?
    Also, when your youngest was little how did you make sure she did not access the small toys and craft supplies? I have a energetic 2 year old and an active 8 month old.
    Also, since your homeschool room is not attached to your main house when in your day to you use this space and how long? Do you have set times?
