      I thought this too. Larger airports, decline it easily, no problem... But man. A smaller air port like PGD... They care. Idk why, but dammit, they care. 😂😂😂 The smaller ones are more strict and have more security than most of the larger international airports we go through lmao. It's always been odd to me.

    • @saorise28
      @saorise28 Місяць тому +51

      @@MDR2657 it could be because that’s where the rich people fly in. Seriously. If you are in a populated city and there is a “small” airport around, they have better security and seem to “care” a bit more because the big patrons likely pay/demand it. The John Wayne airport in California is one I fly in and out of a few times a year, every year and it’s small. It closes to all planes after 10pm and also requires most if not all of the flights to head out to sea after takeoff and do a BIG 360 over the water before flying off. This is because the rich people who keep their planes there and live close to the airport didn’t like they could hear the noise of the planes taking off so now the planes have to adjust flight path AND cut the engines mid air, while flying over the specific houses, before they can reengage them and continue with your flight path.

      @@Jason_Hubred at a certain distance, face recognition technology yields less reliable results. The problem with face scanning isn't the fact that you're being recorded by a camera. The problem is that the complete details of your face is being fed into an arbitrary black box and you don't have control over what the TSA does with that data.
      You also don't have control of security cameras following you around the airport, but they're also significantly less capable than having a camera directly in front of you.

    Hey Mike!
    This video came out at the perfect time for me. I am a lifelong wheelchair user and I have flown many times in my life. While my story doesn’t involve TSA it does involve flying international. Two days ago I came back home after a vacation in the Philippines with my best friend and it was a bit of a nightmare for me when it came to flying with a certain prominent airline.
    The airline we took to fly most of the way to Manila lost crucial parts of my wheelchair leaving me without my medically certified inflatable cushion (which is made to help prevent pressure ulcers from forming) and one of my side guards that protects between my leg and wheel, leaving me in this position for my entire vacation. So far the airline has only handed me replacement parts only after the final flight with the airline going back home. We tried repeatedly to get compensation via seat upgrades for my friend and I as we had economy seating but the airline employees gave us the runaround until eventually after our second flight, the head employee of the gate for our third flight, became very rude with not assisting and claiming we do not have proof of talking with prior employees about getting seat upgrades along with claiming they cannot provide seat upgrades at the gate. (Which to be fair that may be true and also we didn’t have a proof, only the word of the employee we spoke to previously at a separate airport. It’s my first time flying in a decade and first time traveling as an adult as well as international so I wasn’t familiar with this protocol.) I’m currently writing down all of the events that took place with the mishandling of my wheelchair with the airline and the behavior of their employees being unhelpful in getting any form of compensation other than the afterthought of replacing my wheelchair parts after the fact my 3 week vacation was over.
    I’m curious for your take on the situation? Maybe it’s a potential video for you to make (you have my permission to do so if you choose to.) I’m really hoping not to have to lawyer up and the airline can provide a proper compensation for damages to my wheelchair, to my body for having to use an incomplete wheelchair for 3 weeks (which I do fear I have a new pressure ulcer from this ordeal but I’m afraid to check.) and for the emotional damages of being more disabled than what I already am in a country already not accessible to begin with. (Sorry Philippines, I still love you.)
