    I have the exact issue that you described and that is why I'm looking at getting the backstrap. Your video has convinced my to purchase it. People that don't know about that imaginary anvil hanging off the end of your stabilizer that make it all but impossible to get your pin back up to the target/bullseye just don't know how lucky they are.

    I got this as soon as it came out and it cured target panic that lasted about a year and I couldn't fix it. This took me about 3 weeks to adjust to, and I am shooting my old high score when I feel like I am shooting terrible and 10-20 points higher than my old high score in my better days. Amazing.

    You describe exactly what’s been happening to me. I’ve even flung some arrows under my target. I just got a used Carter Like Mike today and think I’m going to like it. It’s not a back tension release but has basically no creep and you can adjust the tension it takes to set it off. I like the webbing adjustment compared to my Little Goose. It always felt too far forward. I have the tension cranked all the way down and the webbing shortened all the way up and it felt pretty comfortable so far.

    You can adjust any index release to have the trigger under your first knuckle. Having the trigger next to the hook creates a better anchor point.

    Hopefully this one will actually last. Part of the reason NockOn came out with new versions of their release because the old ones break after a few years. I personally think these releases are too expensive to not last 5 years. Even after maintaining it as Dudley described, my original silverback has become virtually useless. It was a great product and I'm glad I used it but I personally feel the release should last more than 4 years.

    Back tension takes a lil while for your body to understand. For me, the best explanation I was told was once you get to your draw length or anchor, imagine pulling your elbow inline with the back of your ear.

    • @MichiganGreatOutdoors
      @MichiganGreatOutdoors  3 роки тому

      I agree with that, or pull your elbow back away. Thats what John Dudley teaches, back tension is even stranger to me "squeezing your muscles together. It works when you get that perfect feel!

    This release is pretty sweet. I've worked up to some groups at 40-50-60 where I have arrows touching. As someone who just picked up archery within the year it's a great training mechanism to get proper back wall tension and follow through. Teaches you to trust your pin and focus on form. However I do have a couple complaints about this release.
    1. The burrs in the hinge ate my d-loop until I got smart and took some scotch brite to it. Fixed it, but took some time to properly smooth it down.
    2. I get some string jump to the right causing my arrows to consistently fly left. I don't have this issue with a traditional wrist release. I'm not sure why this happens. Maybe its the strap attached to the release that gets torqued by my hand? Anyone else had this issue?

    • @MichiganGreatOutdoors
      @MichiganGreatOutdoors  2 роки тому

      Dude, I had the same exact issue with my arrows hitting left!! Drove me insane!! Definitely a really good realease for the money!!

      @@MichiganGreatOutdoors Thanks for the reply! For me I just threw my sight over a bit and it was perfect for field points. Then I shot my broadheads and had some issues with consistency. No biggie, just going to rock the cheap trigger release for hunting and keep the back strap for off season practice.

    • @davidfargen2167
      @davidfargen2167 2 роки тому

      If your arrows are hitting left you might be “creeping” I am sure there are videos out there that explain it better then I can but basically the bow creeps forward especially if you don’t have a deep valley (like a Hoyt) You’re a bow will slowly forward causing a shot to go off. You would notice this with a normal release because it will go off unexpectedly but since the whole point of this back tension release is to give you a surprise shot you might not notice it.

    Great video. Can you post the length from back of hook to front of trigger (measuring straight down body of the release, but lining up inside edge to inside edge so as to get an idea of how far finger will be from d-loop)?

      Well, it's been a year. Are you still liking this release? Still using it? I bought the Stan Execute II and even though I've used a Carter Quickie Plus for hunting for years I don't like this Stan. It's the new one with a double sear that doesn't transfer any energy to the tigger when at full draw. It's really butter smooth though. It has no trigger travel just tension. Would you consider trading?

    Thanks for the sharing! Just got mine but i was really disappointed. Reason was the poundage of breaking off is always unstable, after I set it at certain poundage (like 15 pounds), the breaking off point could be sometimes only 12 pounds (which causes misfire) while sometimes goes up to 20+ pounds (which causes I can't trigger the shot at all when I am fully prepared, I had to pull very hard and caused left hand shaking already yet still can't trigger the shot)
    It would have been a great release and exactly working the same way as you presents, don't know it's only happening to mine or did u experience the same issue?
