@@SunnySunblade the current plan is to release everything at once to avoid the mix of hi res and ds textures , which will includes all worlds , characters , weapons , effects , panels , ui , and menus . the ui and menus might come after but everything else will definitely happen all at the same time . please be sure to stay tuned for the next progress report :)

I still hope that someday, somebody programs a software that lets us replace character models in the KH DS games. I tried it multiple times before with different ROM Browsing Softwares, and all I figured out is that the character models are stored in an encrypted archive together with their textures and animations. If you saw these "Play as Ven in 358/2 Days" videos you probably know already. I have no idea how to decrypt these archives.
@@Dewdlebot thankyou ! if you mean textures of the models , yes , in this video you can see roxas now has new textures . if you mean replacing character models , we dont know how to do that at the moment , and will likely be a far future thing , but its atleast a thought weve had
Man, I'm glad this is being made. Its disappointing that Square didn't just port the DS titles to consoles and pc with the Final mix compilations. Altering them to work with a single screen and higher resolution really shouldn't have been that hard. I'd argue that wouldn't have needed much man power or time with full time resources. You guys are doing all that but on your free time and still making good progress, so imagine how much faster you'd be able to work with a full team and full days.
Looking great! I would add some drop shadows to the bright brick patterns in the tunnels to match the original though, it looks a bit off and flat without them. I would also recommend roughing up the edges on the trees in the Sandlot a little to make it look more natural.
@@Fighter_Builder thankyou for the feedback ! i thought about drop shadows in the tunnels but ultimately i opted to go without the drop shadows , as thats how they are in kh2 , which is what im aiming for and have been incredibly closely referencing when making them . the trees are actually rendered directly from kh2 and then flattened into a png , but i can probably try to get better shading
@@bean3326 Just checked, yeah you're right :v I still think it could use a little something when it's blown up to this resolution but I guess I misremembered what the OG PS2 textures looked like lol, just looked a bit off when put side by side next to the DS version.
@@Fighter_Builder no worries ! yea its surprising sometimes the changes they make for days textures , a lot of them have drop shadows where there shouldnt be and when the kh2 light is shown on it it can give a feelijg of "surely thats not how it looked in kh2 right ¿" some of it may be the renderer issues as well , it currently pixelates the textures more than it should and may help with making it feel off , which hopefully should be fixed on full release . though i will take your feedback into mind :D i appreciate it

I personally do prefer the Days drop-shadow-y look in some places (mainly the tunnels tbh, IMO they add some nice depth to the wall patterns but they could definitely still be toned down) but they definitely went overkill with em lol (though I imagine it probably helps with texture readability in the context of a tiny DS screen).
@@ezronco.8671 theres no estimated completion date , but the other worlds are pretty close to completion as well , i think i have an idea of which worlds i want to finish up next . there will be another progress report hopefully soon
