- Charley and I went on an overnight adventure. This is not the full video but just a taste of what we were up to over the last couple of days. Growing up in the Ottawa Valley I grew up watching Tom in the 90s. Its so good to see him living his best life. Welcome back to Canada Tom we missed you.

Tom I've been a huge fan of your comedy since I was ten years old. These videos just confirm how much of a legend you are. I never thought I'd get a chance to see Tom Green in such an environment and in such a well-produced fashion. You've gone from being a sketch comedy pioneer to being Jeremiah Johnson. This is truly inspiring.

Tom. My wife and I saw your live comedy show at the San Jose Improv in 2011. We laughed our asses off. It was phenomenal! We've always loved the Tom Green Show and have our TGS dvd's in the collection.

Nicely put, being new without a clue, but I thought something was up. Cosmic hugs to the man. Maybe when he goes back out there we, the entire chat, can hide in the woods and bum rush the tent with a good old fashioned 4th grade pig pile on top of him. Cheer him up a bit.🎁
I mean I’ll glady bum rush his stage/tent/bed...teehee🤭🤫😋🙃😙😚/whatever (😅 jk about that second to last one...or am I? K, straight dude here, but sometimes you just idolize your heroes so much the lines get...well...blurred...okay, not in a Robin Thicke 😱🤢🤮😬😳😪😴🤕😵kind of way but you know what I’m saying. I would simply be giddy like a school boy similarly to if I were to, for instance, had met Steve Irwin when I was 12 or something like that.) and do the Wayne’s world bowing routine without hesitation because that’s what I’ve already done to him once in Fayetteville, Arkansas circa 2013 after his hilarious standup set and I, like a true and certifiable dipshit, blew it because I was a dumbass, 23 year old version of myself, not to be confused with this current, 31 year old iteration which is 8 years the previous version who “met” Tom’s senior making the previous installment also 8 years the current version’s junior. Point being, a lot can happen in ten* years. (*I’ve rounded up for sheer desperation’s sake and other obvious and not so obvious reasons.) People grow, Tom. They learn and realize that being left by the 3 odd people they carpooled with for some 3 odd hours to see some 3 (-1) odd hypothetical, consecutive sets of Tom Green’s hilarious stand up routine where he mounted a stool and demonstrated the human race’s inevitable conclusion (which consisted of it’s devolution into giant touchscreen wielding thumbs) and hanging out with him afterwards for an indeterminate length of time isn’t that scary of a concept. Okay, truth be told, at the time my thought was “I didn’t drive here, how will I get home?” However, now I would just immediately realize that Tom would take care of it all. Not to take Tom’s money for granted just because he’s a rich celebrity. Just saying I really did make an impression on him at the Time and Tom, yeah bro, totally addressing you via a fellow youtuber’s comment, this is my way of officially reaching out to you and saying “hey”. I’m also into cold weather camping and I’d love to show you my Hennessy hammock and jacks r better underquilt sometime. I think you’d dig it. Also I’m curious about which mittens you have there. They look like what I’ve been looking for honestly.

I get carried away sometimes...I’s sorry, boss, won’t happen again...don’t doubt the validity of the story though. That did really happen. But I was gentle when I rushed his stage. I crawled around there like a playful pussy cat. Because I obviously have nothing but love for Tom. I don’t wanna hurt/humiliate Tom on stage like he’s my little brother. And also, what the hell am I gonna do to him anyway? Dude’s huge. He’s like 6’4” I believe. Plus he’s totally matured. Not lanky at all like he was in his famous under utters pizza “sketch”/reality prank(??). God, I love that bit. How mad those Jersey dudes got. How long Tom held out and how he kept his composure in the face of adversity manifested in the form of that hammer clenched in that douchebags hand. (Come on, seriously, who gets thaaaat mad over a silly prank? Mildly annoyed due to hanger, okay, maybe, but threatening with a hammer and kicking over his tackle box? Come on. Juvenile, uncivilized behavior. Completely uncalled for. But Tom’s commitment to his craft and repeating certain key phrases to push that guys buttons persistently in the face of danger and just the sheer unmitigated anger of that douche bag made for some pretty killer comedy.) Anyway though, I digress, all I was saying was I didn’t jump on nor did I aggressively hurl myself toward Tom with any malicious intent in any shape or form whatsoever. Period. Those are facts. I’m randomly channeling a survival military dude from a reality show right now btw. But trust me, bro, if I had, he could’ve easily just had this huge blonde 270 lb bouncer dude flick me off the stage like a bug in an instant or he could’ve just kicked me in the face himself easily for that matter 😅😅 Look. 😐 point being, when asked by the aforementioned huge bouncer if Tom wanted my removal from the stage (even amidst the booing/general utterances of displeasure directed toward yours truly by the members of the crowd that night), he responded “no, it’s cool. We’re having fun here. And Tom roasted me a little bit after I foolishly interrupted him a couple times and I totally deserved and relished the attention btw. Oh how I was a total glutton for Tom’s unwavering punishment. He was a stern ruler, but a fair ruler. And, at times, he could even demonstrate gestures of kindness, albeit fleeting...jk he was nothing but nice minus the light roasting that I elicited with my playful heckling antics. I was the only one brave enough (or perhaps dumb enough) to sit on the first row couch which was placed center stage, you know. And yes, there were couches. It was a more, how you say...intimate setting. Man it was a good time. I feel bad about interrupting his bits in hindsight but if I’m being honest I was just pouring adulation on him because he’s like my fucking idol dude. His original, oddball comedy and even just his persona at the root level when he’s just not really doing much, just kinda standing around silently has always made me ugly laugh uncontrollably. He just has a real presence. Like an impressive aura maybe. Even though I’m not really a subscriber to all that meditation/yoga mumbo jumbo. Jk there’s a lot of wisdom to be learned there I’m not yet mature enough to comprehend, I’m sure.

I learned more about winter survival in 7 min than after watching 7 seasons of Survivorman with Les Stroud. So the key is don't got far from home and only spend 2-3 hours outside as long as your tent has a wood stove. :) Great job Tom.
Our country is a beautiful place to raise dogs and children. Ive lived from coast to coast but Ontario is my home and its deep dark woods are where my souls secrets are kept.Great shots Chris and Tom...winter camping is something everyone should experience at least once in our lives.

Kudos to you Tom. I got out of Toronto and moved to the Thunder Bay area years ago. My Toronto friends always say "What the hell do you do up there" The wilderness is good for the soul!

Fantastic video. Takes time to prepare to camp and film and such a high quality. No one was behind the camera , yet the camera angles / close ups were incredible. Music was fantastic as well.

Another great firestarter is fatwood. You can usually find it in stumps or limbs of a dead pine tree. It's basically like lighter fluid, one little spark and it will ignite and stay ignited. It's also water resistant so it works really well in the winter time when everything is wet. I carry a piece in my backpack at all times. Natives used to use this stuff for their torches because it would ignite easily and stay lit for long periods of time.
You probably have a bunch on your property. I'm sure there's UA-cam videos that will explain how to find it better than I described. Birch bark works good too but fatwood is like having gasoline lol.
We call it "lighter wood" here in North Florida. Or, at least the people I know do. Super old fence posts were made from pine back then and turned into it as well so I had tons of it

Tom: Let's go camping in the snow and see what it feels like to be a wild Canadian!
Charley: Woooofff!! If there is a stove to lie beside and warm my Caribbean bones, then I can take it. Are we going to fry up some more fresh frozen fish?
Tom: We are squatting on an island in the middle of our frozen lake, so that we don't dream of sinking and fall through. I need to get an underwater camera for ice fishing and to see what lives on the other side of the ice. Charley, why do you always love the outdoors and fishing?
Charley: You think it's fishy that dogs love the smell of fish and fried butter?? A dog's brain is directly connected to the stomach via a special food-sensing nerve that points its nose perpetually in the direction of its next meal. This frozen lake is a vast tank of yummy fish, let's get some more.
Tom: Where did you learn about the structure of dog brains? Did I adopt an already educated dog with a Ph. Dog degree?
Charley: Where's the fire and where's my fish?? Let's get out of the wind and snow and get warm again. Do you think the wolf pack will notice us out here on the island? Will a snow shovel be enough to chase them off? Is there such a product as a wolf pack proof tent or do we just use cans of bear spray?
Tom: Charley, you are the smartest and most philosophical dog the world has ever witnessed. But being smart only means you think faster and know the future better. Because I have a bigger brain, I love you more than you love me.
Charley: That is not possible as dogs always love their humans more by nature, you are just a joker. Where's that fried fish any ways? Talking about love always makes me more hungry for some yummy fish!!! I love Canadian fish, they are so fresh and yummy yummy!!! I love the slimy taste of fish!!!
Tom: I forgot my ice fishing auger, so we cannot drill a hole to fish now, but I brought a can of sardines to share with you.
Charley: I love you Tom but I love fish breath even more, so let's eat and make the whole tent smell fishy. Do you think wolves like fish too?
Tom: It is a full moon tonight, so when they start howling outside, we will interview them on their diet. It will be a UA-cam first, Canadian wolves in peaceful dialogue with beer drinking winter campers who aren't afraid of the wilderness because they like being-in-the-wild more than being-in-the-world of humans.
Charley: Being and time is beyond my education, but my stomach is asking could I have the rest of those yummy sardines? Woofff!!! Woooofff!!
Tom: Blessed are the fish finders, for they shall always be the gadget to feed dogs in need. Life continues under the ice and never stops surprising. I always get the warmest thoughts when I am laying on the ice and dreaming of being wild again.

Thanks for re-inspiring me; I live in the Canadian forest (looks the same as where you’re camping), and getting bored of ice and snow…but now I have a new hobby - making delicious cheese sandwiches!!! After seeing this, if I can find some dry kindling, I’ll even get out the cast iron and do it over a fire!
