  • Emma's silence has nothing to do with her being selfish or stupid but everything to do with being scared and too hurt but that has caused Zolani and Lindiwe to end up having very wrong assumptions about why she has changed.

    It's easy for people to expect a person who is sexually assaulted to just "open up " about it. It's not easy,the fear if rejection and not being believed is what makes it difficult for those people to open up. I wish that we can understand that and stop being judgmental.

      I LOVE YOU 💯I think people are just feeling entitled to a world class storyline where ever goes their way and avoiding the actual reality that a victim goes through after being sexually assaulted, not forgetting the perpetrator is a successful person who is married, and people will not believe you even more when you come forward.

      @@misericordia3323 I understand it's not as easy, but is it not better to open up to your partner? Why take it to the perpetrators wife? Would she accept the downfall of the source of her wealth? I know it's a very hard thing, but she could have opened up to Zola I atleast

    She tells the wife but will not tell Lindiwe??? I can understand her not being able to talk to Zolanie (her husband). She knows Lindiwe will go hard in the paint for her family!! Can we please get to that part to move the storyline to the next phase.

    I can understand Emma not telling Zolani...even Mabuyi didn't tell Madlokovu on Isibaya. But what I don't understand is her not telling Beauty or Andile then she goes and tells the wife....the one person who is least likely to believe her. Mara ke, I have never been assaulted so I can't even begin to understand what goes on in a woman's mind when they go through such.

    Emma's silence is making things worse for her... She could have at least said something to her husband. Keeping quiet like this will give her abusers more power over her and they might even flip the whole story against her.

    This show has really gone downhill. It started off so powerful. Next thing, a main character-Tumi-leaves the show. And now the latest--this storyline where Lindiwe gets to berate Emma without trying to find out if there's something else going on. This show is just a disappointment nowadays.

    This storyline makes no sense. Are we really meant to believe a married woman with a child living well off would act like this after being raaped by a stranger. This is the same woman who tried killing Lindiwe and doesn't let anyone get in her way. She doesn't fear men, she used them for money in fact. Unless this guy groomed her in her young years there's no reason for her to be acting like this. They should've given this storyline to another character.

    • @ntandomabunda2012
      @ntandomabunda2012 3 роки тому +45

      I think they have a good storyline because this is the awareness they are trying to create about rape, even the most powerful women get raped and become so afraid to speak up because society will have such comments, "how can a woman like you get raped? How can you, a married woman living well off and act like this after being raped by a stranger?" We really need to start changing the way we see rape honestly

      @@ntandomabunda2012 My comment said don't get triggered by the subject matter n u clearly failed to understand that btw I never said powerful women don't get raped, they do but you know something all those powerful women were in 1 way or another dependent, exploited by powerful men whom they couldn't speak out against for safety, financial or any other reasons, there was power dynamics at work. Emma DOES NOT need to protect this man is doesn't make sense why she's not trying to destroy him, she loses nothing if she destroy this guy unlike real life powerful women. Even if she doesn't speak out, she would at least in keeping true to her character express that she wants to destroy this guy or plot something on her own( She tried to kill Lindiwe for God sakes, she's murdered before)..We know her character to be angry where is her anger?Again my comment has nothing to do with rape, it's about Emma the character. There is inconsistencies in the character we've come to know. But you insist on being triggered by the subject matter. Even this awareness thing of yours is being handled wrong. I don't buy this storyline. Her behavior is that of a younger woman who doesn't have the type of experience this character Emma has with men or life. My comment has nothing to do with how rape is viewed, don't get confused please if anything I'm talking about women here. Clearly whomever wrote this doesn't know women very well. As a woman watching this so called awareness all I'm thinking is you could've put more effort in making it realistic.
