Great sit-down! I'm a fan of these. It's a tough call, I think I'm waiting to see what's in hand. I'm feeling the Xtransbots as a early projection on Springo.
Saying Fans Toys in a high pitch voice was by far the funniest thing ever, but seriously that's a lot of Springers and options are always great for those with particular tastes.
I really really love the sit down Saturday segments even though a lot of times the final answer is going to be fans toys. I would love to see a recap on the different Hound versions since they have many as well as different color versions
Brother I can't thank you enough for the honesty of your reviews! At the same time I don't always agree! At the same time you really make me think about the money I spend! For that alone I can't give you enough thanks. Love ya bro keep it up.
Good stuff, man! Accuracy wise, definitely X-T in all modes. It's pretty incredible looking. But, for me, something about Allen is just awesome. I just always saw Springer as this big stoic bruiser and Allen not only nails that chunkiness, it speaks to me a comic book level. It's so cartoony. So yeah, that's just where it's for this fan.
First off, hilarious as always Bobby. Between dice rolls and high pitched FaaannnTooooys, I was in stitches. As for the bots well, tough decisions there. I'll keep my options open for now and wait on you getting a few for review purposes.
I'm sorry if this was mentioned already but the image for open play's robot spinger is the same as the one shown for toy world with the shoulders moved. its the same product.
Great video Skull Brother and thanks so much for doing it. I think I'm going to pick up Allen as there is a pretty good sale on him. I'm getting him just to mess with and I think I'll pick up the Fans Toys for my main shelf piece...
I got that Open-Play Big Spring from TFcon on Sunday and he is a good figure (granted he isn't supposed to be officially be out till December(?) But A3U brought them as a somewhat a con exclusive). His face is really ugly but I guess were going to get a replacement part for it since it's easy to replace. The face plate just pops off so I don't really get why they didn't give us a better head already with the package. The Transformation is fun and there is only one quick review off him on UA-cam right now and it was enough for me to understand his transformation. And for $90 Canadian I can't complain about it but his build quality is surprisingly there. Not a lot of paint though but I'm not a stickler for paints because paint makes me want to just display the figure and not have fun with it. BTW 6:45 that is still Open-Play Big Spring not the Toyworld Springer for anybody who gets to read this in the future.
Any chance of another comic video? I would love to hear your thoughts on the recent events of Lost Light #6 & 7. I was not at all happy.... bad times were had by me in regards to the story-lines of a few bots.... :(
Yes Bubbeh Bee! Please do El Stunto-cons next.! I'm too lazy to read all the drama that's unfolded lol. Hope you make a long discussion video since this is your favorite group!
Awesome video Bobby. My money is with fans toys. I would love to see a sit down Saturday for the dinobots. There are so many options for the dinobots. Maybe too much lol
I think most of the dinobots have already been released, making comparisons much easier with so many reviews available. But still, within a couple short years, we've had the AoE/TLK ones, Toyworld, GCreation, Fansproject (both their Saurus Ryu-Oh, and Lost Exo Realm versions), Gigapower, Planet X, Iron Factory, Fans Toys, etc. There's even those super clunky Star Cats combiner ones, and a few one-offs like Bullsfire, and Warbotron. If that wasn't enough, there was also a third party company developing a movie-based dino combiner as well, but I forget who at the moment.
I've only been collecting 3rd party for a few months, but my collection will now consist of two main groups; WeiJiang oversized MP, and FansToys. Production quality and G1 accuracy are the most important things for me. My Apache is on the way.. I guess that means your review will be upcoming next week maybe?.. I totally agree with you about his tiny canopy. Fanstoys usually nail the robot, and come close with the alt mode. I saw the colour pics of Rouge, and the car is way off model..
I would also like to see a discussion about what makes a Transformer fun to transform and see some examples that you do what type of Transformer that you constantly like to transform from one mode to the other. this can be some chug versions as well as some Masterpiece versions
I (grudgingly) chose Unique Toys Allen...the only thing to me that didn't translate over well on Allen was the feet. I can even support the bulky calves, but the feet are sadly over-stated. That being said, in my opinion they nailed the 2 alt modes, with the exception of the green verticals. Perfection will never happen, luckily, we as collectors, usually have several options to choose from to cater to our own individual sense of aesthetics.
I already have Allen and he is a great figure. I also plan on getting the Xtransbots one as well. I know some of their stuff has issues but all the Xtransbots stuff I have has been good. I know FansToys has great quality. I have a good chunk of tneir stuff as well, but the Xtransbots one just seems to tip the scale a little more for me. Then again I might get tne FansToys one too, because like Hotrod/Rodimus you can never have enough. Its just another Springer I can add to my collection.
Great discussion as always! One suggestion would be, say if a person wanted to have three versions of Springer on display, in the three different modes, who best nails each mode. I already have Allen, and really like him a lot, no he's not perfect, but nothing unforgivable in my opinion. Will be getting Fans Toys as well no matter what cause they just put so much into their figures. I think I'm done with Toyworld, at this point, so not sure which 3rd option to go with yet. Can't wait to see your reviews on all these guys, hope you can get a hold of them early to give us a heads up, thanks!
Hell yeah would like to hear your thoughts on xtransbots stunticons. I went in on TFM but I like the whole G1 look of xtransbots. The only thing I'm worried about is they say 40 dollars am I getting what I paid for, or will it be something that might start a new trend. In which we don't have to pay 100 for figures any more.
Who made the IDW Springer but then also did an IDW HOT rod repaint of the same figure that REALLY worked! Or was it the other way around? Maybe it was an IDW Hot Rod with a Springer repaint??
Good timing on this video. The past couple days I've been mulling on what Springer to get. Usually i go with Fanstoys or MMC for Masterpiece figures but this time what I'm seeing from them isn't doing it for me. Fanstoys offering just looks off and MMC while they may have a better looking figure, is in the penalty box for KFC tier fit and finish issues. I find myself leaning towards Unique toys Allen. He just looks like a hunk a chunk a burning fun.
I'm actually all in on the MMC version... They did what no one else was willing to do, and that is get away from that horrendous G1 automobile mode. Their automobile is the only one that has some real world practicality, then for me personally, I prefer their bot design above all others. So for me it's a no-brainer.
Thanks for the video. I think Open Play has the best total package (don't like the face though) so I'll be getting it. However, as you said quality is a complete unknown so I'll also be getting FT just in case.
Looking at this again because I got my Robot Hero Airwolf today, which is the Open & Play Big Spring V2 with a new head and metallic paint. It's gorgeous btw, made me swap out Apache. And since Robot Hero is Newage's secondary label, I have the theory that Open & Play was somewhat of a predecessor to Newage. Remember, they also made the Big Cannon Galvatron which had the DX9 Tyrant head... and Newage rose out of DX9 iirc. This 3P companies, man... so confusing, yet so intriguing.
@@MythsAndHeroes Really? Interesting. Newage shared the Robot Hero stuff on their Facebook page, so I assume it's their brand. And the Robot Hero Springer still has the "Open & Play 2017" stamp inside its arm flap. So this could mean that either Newage/RH knocked Open & Play off, or they purchased the mold. I'd like to think the latter, because I don't feel NA is a KOing company.
im a beginner to collecting tfs figs and doing this kinda video really help alot. there are afew 3rd party companies doing the same characters and its giving me a headache as i want to get as g1 masterpiece style as possible.
I think what bugs me so much about the Springer situation is that every company seems to be essentially going for the G1 look with little to no variation on it. If this wasn't frustrating enough, despite my love of triple changers, I absolutely hate the G1 look of Springer. One of the only Springer figures I own is the Generations Voyager version that I absolutely love, flaws and all, and it really makes me wish a couple of these third parties would give up on trying to go G1 with their design and pull something new and different.
Got my FT Apache, and he looks reeeeeeaaaallly good in bot mode. Holds his gun like a champ, same with both swords (comes with a chromed silver one and a plain green one - likely for helicopter mode, though its missing the yellow on the tips). Not transformed him as he comes in robot mode out the box, and my only criticism is his finger joints are a bit too stiff. Strange I know, considering Fans Toys fingers are usually loose enough to manipulate, but this guys are really stiff. Could be a good thing in the long run, I dunno.
stunticons please.... I am already in for the transform mission ones which I am so far happy as heck with but the image from xtransbots looks real nice maybe a bit small in my opinion.
I would say do a video why people hate Fans Toys. Half my shelf is Fans Toys and they are all top notch figures. I can make a symphony of the squeaky joints, but they are still great figures. The Stunticons would also be good video. The KO video is something I am interested in seeing as well.
I've been watching this battle royale for Springer supremacy play out closely. He was always one of my favourite bots from the movie and latter seasons, add in the wreckers saga from idw and he's a definite top bot for me. I had to go with FT too, that bot mode is super nice and you pretty much know what you're getting with FT's track record. XTB is my second for those money modes, they really put it through the uprights, but that transformation is going to be a bitch, and that bare plastic is gonna scream for Reprolables, when I don't wanna hit this guy with stickers, he should be clean. Unique Toys Allen looks fantastic, but he's almost 20% too damn big! They nailed Blurr, look and scale, Allen had that thrown out the window. I look forward to their next releases, ya know, Ted, Mike and Bill. Definitely wanna hear the Stunticon talk, I saw those pictures and I dunno if I'm buyin that look. I'd recommend to them to work on getting a single masterpiece figure down properly before jumping into a combiner, but thats just me lol
Bobby, I chose Fans Toys. With XTransbots being my close second. To me the XTB looks the best in all 3 modes. But with the track record of FT, I'll get this in hand in less than 5 years. LOL LOVE my Cyclonus and Scourge BTW... I want a beefy chest and shoulder pads. With the two greens and grey with a splash of yellow. I want a better helicopter than car, with a spot on G1 robot. Pass on the others. Too skinny for me. Allen does look good, but too Playschooly for my collection...
I'll risk going XTB on something like Cosmos and Seaspray, but a triple changer - faaaaans toys (high pitch voiced). BTW, yes please give your take on the seemingly underpriced XTB Menasor.
Loving the Saturday discussions! I almost bought Allen when he was on sale. He looks good but I figured I'd rather invest that money in the FT version. Whenever there is FT and any other company doing the same character, FT wins. XTB looks great but I hate their transformations and I'm not ready to trust them again after being burned several times, though I'll admit they seem to be stepping up their game as of late.
God, that comment: "its not your job to not upset people... its your job to be in control of your emotions" well done,. on topic: going FT Apache. FT hasnt disappointed me. Also, YES TO XTRANSBOTS STUNITCONS! And, I love the comments regarding Xtransbots. They always nail the look but jesus christ their transformations make me cringe. Once again, love the vids
Yes, please do the stunticon talk!!! I don't own anything from x transbots but I am really sold on the stunticon set if the rest turns out like their first release. I think it's Gen 1 dead on.
I'll take my chances on the X-Transbots. It's the most accurate to me. I think Kup is the only other character that has about as many 3rd party companies coming out with at about the same time. XTB, FT, TW, if I remember right. Cool vid. :)
I'm getting UT Allen from BBTS just cuz it was half off. I may get the FT one in the future if it gets good reviews. But Springer has never been a character that I greatly cared about having because the vehicle modes are so weird and samey to each other. Its like Traxx's two vehicle modes being too samey.
Yeah, a XTB/KFC discussion might be nice. My first XTB toy just shipped yesterday (eligos), but I've watched all the reviews, so I know more or less what flaws to expect. Somehow it's better when you know about them when you buy. You're rarely disappointed ('ok, so this is the issue everybody talked about'), sometimes even surprised ('wow, it's not as bad as I thought it would be').
Springer is the one bot I've been dying to get! Favourite character from G1 hands down! It might just be me but the colour of fans toys face, hands, thighs are way too green from how I remember him looking in the movie and it really puts me off. I'm hoping and praying for Keith to get his shit 100% together for this one X-transbots stunticons??.. yes please!
Drew Lovelyhell from what I've learned it's the toy lines that tend to stick the most to the original G1 looks, Classics, Henkei*, Universe, Generations. *(I stand corrected, it's not Hasbro, it's Henkei)
Great review. Definitely Stunticons. I almost pulled the trigger on the transformissions. But now i just holstered my gun when i heard another. More 80s version was on the horizon. Hopefully more will get on the Menasor bandwagon and start the stunticons in their company after the Bruticus drama blows over.
So, dumb question, but why does everyone get so worked up on which figure is the best before they get released? I get that people don't want to buy one just to replace it later on, or want to plan ahead, but I just don't get why all the drama.
Yes to the Stunticons next week. Sign me up Mac. :D Mike Ditka... lol I'm a Fans Toy fan boy and I aint ashamed! lol But yeah, if XTbots could just pull the rest together, they would be a powerhouse in the 3rd party game.
damn, that X-transbots really does look sooooo good, but they've burned me before. Fanstoys looks pretty good too, and will probably be the safest QC wise
Bobby Skullface L Hey man I thought you didnt answer the Sitdown Sat comments?Youre doing dudes like me a big favor by not being afraid to say whats good and bad about a toy....seems these days Third party and Hasbro/Takara are wanting to charge through the nose for crap. (Dinobot?) Ugh.
Even though I can't afford any third party figures (cos I am highschool student in senior year) I would probably get the X-transbots , but i am not certain about their quality , but i do know that Fanstoys isn't the kind of company to dissapoint so I would advise people to go for Fanstoys due to their popularity.
Mmm something looks iffy on fans toys version. Mainly the back. But do love me some fans toys though! And on your mask... how about a simple day of the dead mask version! Spice it up!
My wife and I have been guilty of using our daughter as an excuse to get out of quite a few social engagements over the years. I would love to see Xtransbots pull out a higher quality than usual here, but I feel they will fall short, which is a shame because they nailed the bot mode over anyone.
Great sit-down! I'm a fan of these. It's a tough call, I think I'm waiting to see what's in hand. I'm feeling the Xtransbots as a early projection on Springo.
Note: Those Toyworld bot photos are actually Openplay with shoulders back.
Thanks for the help just pulled the trigger on the fanstoys offering, thank you again for the information Skully
Faaanstoyyys~♡ lol. Nice podcast reference...made me lol @ work when the crew started doing it...got some side eye stares from it :D
Thank again Bobby I'm going with Fan Toys Springer .....
First off, hilarious as always Bobby. Between dice rolls and high pitched FaaannnTooooys, I was in stitches. As for the bots well, tough decisions there. I'll keep my options open for now and wait on you getting a few for review purposes.
I love Springer. I have Allen already. I'll probably get !Fans Toys! and either MMC or XTB too.
yes, stunticons please!
lol. I loved this. I think nobody will hit it perfect. so just go with what you think hits the look that you like. its good to have choices right
The dice rolling is money. I love it.
It's just up to the eye of the "Beholder". *rolls dice* If I was collecting again, I'd go FT.
Well played sir. Sticking with Fans Toys for Springer. Yes Stunticon discussion please! Blasphemy MMC MP Trailbreaker is a solid unit.
Yep please lets talk about Stunticons. Also perhaps maybe a add-on vid regarding Bruticus now that the Zetas Figs have been all shown. Just a thought.
Hey Skullface this was your best discussion vid yet, keep it up man
Love the XTB just for the missile accessory and vehicle modes look better than FT. Give them a chance Bobby ☺️
Love this video. I would love to see stunticons like everyone else
Awesome video Bobby. My money is with fans toys. I would love to see a sit down Saturday for the dinobots. There are so many options for the dinobots. Maybe too much lol
I think most of the dinobots have already been released, making comparisons much easier with so many reviews available. If that wasn't enough, there was also a third party company developing a movie-based dino combiner as well, but I forget who at the moment.
yes let's talk about stunticons! please
stun ta cons stun ta cons stun ta cons.
John Garringer The IDW MP and the G1 MP!
Yes, and I'd love it if TFM Menasor would also be discussed.
Yes!!
let's discuss (shout out to Ms. Chobot)
I saw the colour pics of Rouge, and the car is way off model..
hopefully monday
I need some stunticons in my life. Would love to understand the landscape from your perspective as a stunticon lover.
Thanks for all the videos, bobby. I'm sorry it ends like this.
I would also like to see a discussion about what makes a Transformer fun to transform and see some examples that you do what type of Transformer that you constantly like to transform from one mode to the other. this can be some chug versions as well as some Masterpiece versions
Awesome video!!! Keep them coming.
And I have that shirt!

Love these broski, just wanted to tell the hardest working man in biz, keep up the greatness- E.A. aka Jose aka Dave
I think you will be able to find out a lot more about Open Play Springer next week.
Thank you for the hard work men :) I love your channel!
Thanks again. This was a great overview.
I wonder, does anyone think the choice of which Springer to get would change if you are looking for IDW Wreckers instead of the Animated movie cast?
Great discussion as always! One suggestion would be, say if a person wanted to have three versions of Springer on display, in the three different modes, who best nails each mode. I already have Allen, and really like him a lot, no he's not perfect, but nothing unforgivable in my opinion. Where did the FansToys thing come from? I asked on the Shattered Cast video and MPPD didn't tell me.
This intro music was the BEST!
Who made the IDW Springer but then also did an IDW HOT rod repaint of the same figure that REALLY worked! Or was it the other way around? Maybe it was an IDW Hot Rod with a Springer repaint??
Fantastic review. Love what you said at the beginning of the video. About becoming upset. Thanks man.
Good timing on this video. The past couple days I've been mulling on what Springer to get. "Spring for" haha stop it you crazy s.o.b. Love Saturdays Bobby so keep it up....so to speak
Thanks for the video. I think Open Play has the best total package (don't like the face though) so I'll be getting it. However, as you said quality is a complete unknown so I'll also be getting FT just in case.
i want the fanstoys zoom in to be retroactively added to all the reviews of their products. same with the xtransbots dice roll.
Looking at this again because I got my Robot Hero Airwolf today, which is the Open & Play Big Spring V2 with a new head and metallic paint. It's gorgeous btw, made me swap out Apache.

Yep they handed it to me face to face personally
the color of the fans toys one is a bit to lime for me. but other than that it looks great and that's the one I will go for. that or toyworld.
im a beginner to collecting tfs figs and doing this kinda video really help alot. there are afew 3rd party companies doing the same characters and its giving me a headache as i want to get as g1 masterpiece style as possible.

You left out an oldie the Fansproject Warbog defender from your list of Springers as an available option

I had no idea there were this many options! Keep up the Saturdays! What's next? 😊
flat out, I love these man.
That FT Windshield reminds me of a friend of mine that had a tiny fingernail on one finger, while the other fingernails were normal sized.
I would say do a video why people hate Fans Toys. Half my shelf is Fans Toys and they are all top notch figures. I can make a symphony of the squeaky joints, but they are still great figures. The Stunticons would also be good video. The KO video is something I am interested in seeing as well.

Could you do a astrotrain and blitzwing comparison.
I wanna see more of the MMC one.
Allen is my personal favorite, besides the Generations Springer. That was legitimately one of the best figures Hasbro has ever done...
If you are going to do Stunticons, I would wait until after TFCon
I'd like a TW or XTB Menasor or simply overall XTB/KFC discussion next week.
I'm in on FT Apache, but I typically buy all their stuff
Yeah, a XTB/KFC discussion might be nice. My first XTB toy just shipped yesterday (eligos), but I've watched all the reviews, so I know more or less what flaws to expect. Somehow it's better when you know about them when you buy. You're rarely disappointed ('ok, so this is the issue everybody talked about'), sometimes even surprised ('wow, it's not as bad as I thought it would be').
Sign me up for the stunticons! Too bad we couldn't get a little of column a and b....xfansbots!
Springer is the one bot I've been dying to get! Favourite character from G1 hands down!
It might just be me but the colour of fans toys face, hands, thighs are way too green from how I remember him looking in the movie and it really puts me off. I'm hoping and praying for Keith to get his shit 100% together for this one
X-transbots stunticons??.. yes please!
Good thing I'm a CHUG guy, and the Hasbro Springer is still amazing.
What is CHUG? 😞
Drew Lovelyhell to my knowledge..
Classics
Hasbro
Universe
Generations
Don't count on me too much though.
JS Calzone -- Thanks. Still dont know what that means though!
Drew Lovelyhell from what I've learned it's the toy lines that tend to stick the most to the original G1 looks, Classics, Henkei*, Universe, Generations. *(I stand corrected, it's not Hasbro, it's Henkei)
Man, I didnt realize there were so many Springers. I guess the pressure's off the Dinobots Constructicons and Megatron now.
Jobbythehong has made a review of open and play big Spring dude
So, dumb question, but why does everyone get so worked up on which figure is the best before they get released? I get that people don't want to buy one just to replace it later on, or want to plan ahead, but I just don't get why all the drama.
I'm going with fanstoys!!
yes. the stuntacons
The dice rolls were genius. Lol
Yes to the Stunticons next week. Sign me up Mac. :D Mike Ditka... lol I'm a Fans Toy fan boy and I aint ashamed! lol But yeah, if XTbots could just pull the rest together, they would be a powerhouse in the 3rd party game.
So many third party Springers, but the only third party Sandstorm I get is that Wiener mobile...
damn, that X-transbots really does look sooooo good, but they've burned me before. Fanstoys looks pretty good too, and will probably be the safest QC wise
As far as cartoon accuracy with the look of Springer's bot mode, I would go with X-TransBots.
Wait do I skull my drink on a written "so to speak" ?
Whew...maybe I will wait and see if Maketoys will do a Springer...geez
they say that patience saves pockets
I think you mixed up the pictures of Toyworld robot mode with other figure in your movie.
Mmm something looks iffy on fans toys version. Mainly the back. But do love me some fans toys though! And on your mask... how about a simple day of the dead mask version! Spice it up!
price is a factor too
Lets get into the stunticons discussion. Things are getting chippy!
My wife and I have been guilty of using our daughter as an excuse to get out of quite a few social engagements over the years. I would love to see Xtransbots pull out a higher quality than usual here, but I feel they will fall short, which is a shame because they nailed the bot mode over anyone.
ToyWorld drama next! Do you think they really are stealing designs as BB7?
