I was gonna agree, but take into account how much he worked for the food before the fall and how much he had to scrounge for food after the fall. Only to have someone, related or not, steal from you.
Nah. Given they took in saviours, he´s an utter hypocrit. Allways has been. Screw that character, he´s just written how the showrunners need him to be at the given moment. One moment he´s a whiny coward unable to deal with a few walkers, ten minutes later he´s an uber-hero.
@@NerzJansch2 I agree, he has no room to talk considering after the fall he locked his entire congregation outside the church with the dead because he was afraid. You can’t tell me that there wasn’t any children in that group. So he let a couple dozen people die because he was scared.
@@davidb4090 While I agree that Gabriel is hypocritical and has little room to complain, I feel like maybe forcing him to live was punishment for his brother's cowardice. What kind of man sits across from his daughter, plays Russian Roulette, and chooses to spare himself over his child? Maybe the father saw it as a 'mercy', but it feels like Mays might've been thinking if he's stealing to feed his family, then he'll lose to protect his family...and when his brother didn't, he decided the most fitting punishment was to let him live with the selfish choices he (the brother) had made. Because he was clearly still feeding his brother to keep him alive 🤷♀ You'd think if it was about the food he'd stop feeding him and save it all for himself.
@ 🤷♂️ no clue, but if he is feeding him just enough to let him waste away slowly while being chained up with the mummified remains of the family that’s one hell of a revenge plan for real. And when it comes to Gabriel, he was a crappy human being at first but he managed to redeem himself over time.
The destruction of Terminus and the brutal extermination of its residents was probably the single most cathartic moment in the entire show. Revenge on their captors and tormentors? Sure, that was justified. Nothing they endured justified what they did to innocents. The only one of the Termites that actually had a spine and didn't try and justify their actions was Martin, who while unquestionably a monster, at least died without groveling or trying to make himself appear a misunderstood victim.
The most disturbing story out of the 3 is definitely the Mays one because he practically tortured his brother and made him kill his own family. Gabriel was justified in killing Mays. I find the power pills story sad because they were just kids and were put in a bad situation. I enjoyed this video a lot and glad to see another fear story told. Looking forward to the next one!
All that’s true, but mays didn’t force him to kill his family, his brother had a choice, and he kept himself alive, I don’t think mays would’ve chained up his brothers family after that, it’s not like they’re the ones that tried to take his supplies. What mays did was horrible though
You have a good point. I believe he would have come back to Alexandria if Gabriel didn’t kill him but that was a chance they couldn’t take especially with the aftermath of what the Whisperers did to the communities
I mean yeah that was fucked up but you really think that's worse than a group of people being systematically being r*ped, tortured and eaten and after they escape that hellish experience they decide to do the same thing to others?
You say "made him" kill his own family...doesn't he have the option to use it on himself and spare them? Don't get me wrong, Mays was being petty over the food, but I think letting his brother live (and continuing to consume his supplies) was punishment for his brother prioritizing himself over his wife and kid.
“Power Pills” is horrifying to me because I used to live there, so seeing my childhood home….it just scares me seeing it like this. (I know it’s just film) but it’s still creepy.
For the May’s situation, I’d say I hated what Gabriel did for the information he initially had and the rapport they’d built, but chose to end the man. They let Negan have a chance at redemption, but not this guy. HOWEVER, with the truth unfolded, the scale of what Mays REALLY did, we end up agreeing with him when it’s all said and done… but this was after Gabriel already took out Mays with Aaron’s own arm after a promise at a new chance. It reminds me of the tale of a man who saved a family from being murdered, but the man was originally going to rob them with violent intent. Is the robber really an overall hero? Or is he just a hero by coincidence/happenstance in the situation alone, due to his original intention? That’s up to the viewer, but for me it’s a case of hating a man’s true intentions with the information he came with versus agreeing with the man for resolving a far worse scenario overall. I dislike Gabriel’s intentions, even though it ended up being the greater good.
See, I don't agree with what Gabriel did, if only because Mays gave Aaron and Gabriel a choice. Are we to believe he didn't offer his brother that same choice, himself or his family? His brother *chose* to save himself, and that's why I think Mays let his brother live. If it was just about the food, why would he keep his brother alive for months, or even years? He clearly fed him. After the brother chose himself over his wife and kid, I believe Mays kept him alive as a 'live with your decision' punishment. Because see what he did the moment he was freed? And as you said, they forgave Negan. How much blood is on Negan's hands? We know Glenn and Abraham, for certain. All those other survivors he ordered his men to kill, or were lost in the conflicts..and let's not forget Gabriel being forgiven after trapping his congregation outside the church to save himself.
I love these short camp fire stories so much. I hadn't watched past season 7 or 8, so I didn't know the Mays story. It's definitely the best of the three, though I have a huge spot soft for Terminus.
Gabriel did the right thing. Who’s to know that Mays wouldn’t flip a switch and become the same way the next time he was pissed or wronged in some way?
See I remember watching the terminus back story was crazy and it just shows how much people are too far gone. Another thing the dad killing his own kids. I felt bad for the boy and it would be hard for me to put down my parents I’m grateful that we don’t live in the TWD universe.
The one factor the Walking Dead shows have in common is that both main casts just bring death to whoever they meet. Every place they showed up was perfectly fine and stable then they pop up and everything goes sideways.
Woodbury, terminus, hilltop and alexandria, are all communities that weren’t perfectly fine, and fell because of the cracks in their community, alexandria wasnt read for the outside world which cause tension between ricks side and alexandria, hilltop was un control of negan and rick was just trying to help to get his people supplies, terminus was destroyed orginally from people before so they changed too a more gruesome way of life
Gabriel totally justified, even before finding the brother, which was horrific and sad. Part of me wonders if Mays knew he was going to be killed though. Maybe he just wasn't capable of doing it himself. Terminus. Oy... I "could" see where they had a point, but... but... ok, we're talking survival in the apocalypse here, so... bear with me... "IF" they had offered people the opportunity to stay, letting them know the deal, and the people said they couldn't... let them go. That being said, they were by the time our group got there very well organized for defense. If some big bad entered, or tried to enter... then, and ONLY then would the option of not leaving be taken away. While sitting here comfy in my house with leftover pizza n wings in the fridge I'm thinking I'd say, no, can't do it, be on my way... but... who knows? I don't think Geary was wrong, but for a different reason. Where they were, the eventuality of the island being over-tun by big bads I think was more of threat than the dead. Too much real estate to defend... The one "campfire" story I like from the disaster of Fear Season 5 was of Ben and Tess, and their son who had asthma.
Love your vids man also if you have the time or your posting something else can you explain why or how did the hotel in fear the walking failed in Season 3
Terminus was my favorite small arc and I really wish they had fleshed it out more. There's something about a community that are secretly cannibals during a zombie apocalypse that is always so creepy and fascinating to me.
