    What I think is wonderful is the way you build and build the picture. It's like it's being born right Infront of my eyes!
    You talk about practice, and I have painted most of my life (albeit irregularly!) but watching this I realise I have collected SO many bad habits!
    So, I've decided I'm going to try to "delete" them and try to replace them with "healthy" ones that I can learn from you. No pressure here! 😅 But I'm sure I can do it... just listening, looking and giving myself time.
    So Thankyou for both the help and the inspiration! 😊

    Hello Kristine....I enjoyed your pep talk and you are right in everything you said. Your painting came out so pretty. With anything we want to achieve one needs to practice, practice, practice but somehow there is always something pulling us from our practice time. I have been painting after my hubby goes to bed. He likes for us to watch TV together for a few hours and then he goes to bed. Your advices are always so informative and watching you paint helps a lot. Thank you so juch.

      Thank you for this lovely comment! Managing family and me time is always a thing of negotiation with yourself and family 🥰😂🙈 family comes first but we shouldn’t forget about ourselves otherwise we will not be 100% effective with our family. I can do lots of things with my family when I had some great time with my art. And if I’m not having my me time in my studio - well 😂😅 I’m not the best in my family errands 😅😂😅

    Thank you, Kristine. I have only been painting (or doing any art) for a year and it's probably never too soon or too late to hear these thoughts! Taking time to observe can be so frustrating when one is so excited to just paint! I'm trying!

Gracias

    Kristine, This is truly one of your heartfelt and inspirational video's. I absolutely love it... !!
    On a short personal note, my father was an artist. It took me several years before I discovered botanical art, as I was previously a landscape and figure painter, which is also what my father painted.
    I also totally agree with what you said about practising every day, which is what I strive for also.
    I love watching your videos because YOU are a VERY dedicated and talented artist as well. !!
    All my VERY BEST WISHES and also lots of SUCCESS to you..!!

    Thank you for this reminder. I painted with acrylis and oils for years and took a break for about 10 years. Now I am trying wc and I have to keep reminding myself it's a new medium that is used differently. I won't instantly be as good as I was with the previous mediums, plus it's been quite a while since I painted. Thanks for the advice to paint every day instead of a few times a week.

    Hi Kristine!!😊❤️ I’m so glad I found your channel!! I’ve seen your work on Instagram, it’s absolutely gorgeous!! Everything you paint looks so real!!😱❤️ A few years ago I bought almost everything I needed to paint with watercolor! For the past year I have wanted to learn watercolor, but I’m so nervous about it! People say to just practice with my brushes and get a feel for them. I need to know how they work? I know I’m going to need flat/wash brushes, because I want to paint landscapes. Could you please tell me what brushes (brands and sizes) you use and would suggest to me??? I do have a bunch of cheaper brushes, plus I have a 12, 8, 6, 4, 2, and 1 Round Black Velvet Silver brushes. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you so much!!!😊❤️🖌

      Good day Elizabeth! Thank you for your kind words ❤️❤️❤️ about learning and mastering watercolors - it is true, need to practice and with time you will feel more confident and more relaxed 🙏😊but there is no end in this learning journey. I’m also still learning ❤️😊. About the brushes - I use synthetic round brushes with very fine tip to make detailed and realistic painting. For landscapes flat brushes and also round big brushes for nice watery layers.

      @@KristineArt thank you so much!!! Do you mind me asking what Brand of brushes you use? 😊💗💗💗

    • @ladyhecate9450
      @ladyhecate9450 Рік тому

      Hi there. I have been through several brands of brushes. My favorite brushes are Da Vinci Maestro. I have several sizes but I like 5 and 6 the most. They are not cheap but they are not outrageously expensive. I just bought Polina Bright which are a tad more expensive but their #2 round brush looks like a #16 brush. I have the round Black Velvet Silver Brushes as well. I bought them first. I use them but I always return to my Da Vinci brushes. They have a nice sharp point. When I clean them, I run the brushes over a paper towel to form its point, or simply tap it on your arm and it goes right back into a point. I gently form the brush a little more and then hang the brush upside down in this metal brush holder. It has a spiral metal at top and you push the brush between a spiral. They sell them in most art stores like Dick Blick but I got mine through Amazon. Happy painting. I hope this helps.
