You know what, Montana is right. Stealing Waddles from Pacifica would be an extremely Pines family thing to have done. And it would've been hilarious!
If you go back to those episodes Dipper and Mabel travel back to, you can see Blendin fixing the anomalies in the background. I love the attention to detail.
Time travel episode done right. Status quo not reset at the end of the ep
@@ac7268yes it was. At the end of the episode everything went back to the way it was. Blendin had already even been shown in those episodes so literally exactly back to the status quo with the end. The only things that changed in this episode were Wendy and Robbie going out and Mabel winning Waddles, and both of those things happened before time travel and the time-travel was unable to change them
Also, his name is Blendin, because he *blends in* to the background, and it took me until earlier this year to get that joke.
You are the reaction video version on Justin Y
@@Vozirdnot really. There’s still Mustache dude, Denji and Pochita too.
Anyone Waddles fans out there??
' anyone who ISN'T a waddles fan out there ' is a much better question
Every person with a soul
@@EpicRandomness555as someone who doesn’t have a soul i am still a fan of waddles
If you go back to first 3 episodes you can see Blendin in them
MEEEE! 🤗🤗
The "why cant just mabel go back?" Is actually a really good question. I assume as past mabel and dipper arent around whenever they go back that implies that if mabel were to go back herself her past version that is helping dipper out would not be there to do that. At least thats the best argument i can give. But you know, it's time travel. There's always plotholes or leaps in logic if time travel is involved
yup since there's only one timeline if mabel goes back to get the pig she wont be there to arrange the ball for dipper
@@Xxxkiller101since the gutter just needs to be at the right angle, they can set it up ahead of time. Mabel does not need to be there other than prototyping. They have paradox free time travel.
"Let's go get two dodos and force them to make out!"
😂😂😂 I laughed way too hard at that.
Buffalo were hunted nearly to Extinction you are not going to see them roaming in those numbers in the middle of Oregon. Kenny was definitely right on that one
Glad somebody else knows about "Babe" Shrek references the same line after he tricks Donkey to get across the bridge
people ask why Mabel didn't go back to get Waddles, or why she couldn't leave after moving the pipe, but the real question is: why didn't Dipper just get a snowcone beforehand so he could offer before Robbie?
Or he could just put something under that pipe
The "Time traveler" sounds a lot like Lemonhead from Adventure Time.
Are you trying to be coy or did you just not know it was Justin Roiland? Also Lemongrab not Lemonhead, was that on purpose? Is there some humor to this post I'm not catching or is it just a genuine post?
great reaction guys! it seems you guys enjoyed this overall and were happy with the result! im glad to see that; please dont join a handful of other reactors in misinterpreting this for mabel being selfish, dippers wants are unrealistic, wendy is significantly older than dipper and its HIS desire to manipulate time into finding a way for this older girl to like him thats ACTUALLY selfish.
just dont forget they are twelve!
Time Traveller is the same voice actor as:
* Morty Smith - Rick & Morty
* Lemongrab - Adventure Time

Dipper: _tries going back in time to avoid giving Wendy a black eye_
Alex Hirsch: Sorry, kid. It's a canon event.
Finally, someone gets it
So whatever happens, happens. That’s why the saying “no one can ever turn back the clock” exists.
What if THIS is where the Across the Spiderverse writers got that idea?
I was thinking the same thing 😂
@@HaydrogenBomb This idea has been done multiple times. I personally would give the credit to the book The Time Machine.
"Hey, your dad sucks, give me the pig." Sentences never before uttered 😂
I dont think Ive ever heard the line, "I love guys who's sister have pigs" spoken aloud before... Maybe I need to get out more.
there are some rare phrases in this world and that is one of them for sure
Keep in mind that Mabel won Waddles in the _original_ course of events. It was only after Dipper pulled her away, to help him in his pursuit of a "relationship" that was never, ever going to happen anyway, that Mabel lost Waddles. Contrary to what many people tend to assert, this was _not_ one of the instances where Mabel asked Dipper to sacrifice something for her happiness (and that's a real pattern, don't get me wrong), but this is Dipper asking Mabel to give up something _real_ in exchange for a deluded _fantasy._
Remember how, in the previous episode, you read about a giant, evil, time-devouring baby from another dimension, trapped in a glacier? Well, now you've met him, and even caught a glimpse of how he subjugated the human race!
I remember when the hate Mabel train went around a few years ago and a lot of people were saying Mabel was the selfish one, even as a kid I thought that Wendy was a delusional fantasy for Dipper. The cool older person who makes you a complete mess most people when you’re young, but it’s unrealistic. I’m glad I see a lot of people defending Mabel in this episode.
Fun fact: If you go back and watch all the earlier episodes you'll see that Blendin actually *is* in all those scenes in the background.
Fun fact: Blendin is voice by Justin Roiland. Co creator of Rick and Morty. He and Alex were friends in college.
Now I guess they have cut ties
for a g o o d reason
They cut ties?
Oh, thank Titan, that means Owl House *doesn't* share a multiverse with Rick & Morty anymore.
(To those who do not know, both of those shows had Easter eggs tying back to Gravity Falls. And as someone who hates Rick & Morty on principle and loves Owl House, that short string of separation made me very uncomfortable.)
@thegreendragon5390 who said they were connected. And even if they were why is that a bad thing lol
@@tobsonasanya4765
Like I said.
I hate R&M as a matter of principle, but I appreciate Owl House.
You think of something you enjoy being associated with something you hate, does the thought not unease you?
@@thegreendragon5390 sorry to tell ya, Rick and morty cut ties with justin royland aswell
Does Pacifica realize that she indirectly complimented Dipper.
When?
@@HaydrogenBomb "Look! Mabel found her REAL twin."
You might want to look in the background of a few episodes, particularly, the scenes they revisited in this episode.
Please guys don't start hating Mabel after this and some episodes later. In the commentary of the creator about this episode, Alex said that the reason the universe "takes things away" from dipper it's because he has a wrong view of the world so the world doesnt give him what he wants and most of the time that involves his twin sister, the person he cares for the most. In this episode Dipper doesnt just want to be with Wendy, he wants Robbie to not be with her, it's a selfish want and something that will never happen anyways and he needs to see that he is a kid not some smart guy that can manipule everything cus he wants to; Mabel just wants to save her pig, and even says that she doesnt know if she wants to change the past, of course she wants things for his brother to go well but she has already helped him so now he needs to help her. The next episode makes more points about this but i'm not gonna spoil it. I'm just gonna keep commenting on your videos hoping you don't fall for the "Mabel is worst person ever" rabbit hole.
Yeah, most of Dipper's suffering is actually self-inflicted
i completely agree, it sounds bad and i love dipper but the reason he often doesn’t get his way is because “his way” usually just isn’t morally correct for those around him. i love the twins and have tried so hard to understand the whole mabel is selfish argument but it sounds ridiculous to me no matter how many times i hear it.
i always thought the fandom was so rough on mabel because gravity falls is one of those “smart” shows (like rick and morty) so a lot of those fans completely ignore the emotional aspect of the show that mabel is supposed to represent, but that’s just my 2 cents.
love these reactions
It’s honestly kinda annoying how long the dipper Wendy thing went on
Fun fact: one popular theory is that Eda the Owl Lady was his ex wife since there are several small references to both shows in each other since Dana Terrace and Alex Hirsh worked on both of them. There's no official connection but it's a fun theory
Pretty sure Owl House confirmed it
@@HaydrogenBomb I'm not sure if the creators confirmed it themselves, but in season 2 when Vee's trying to find magic to eat, the barista at the coffee shop says that Eda went by Marilynn, which Stan says was his ex-wife's name later in the series.
Just Mabel *can’t* go back because she lifts the gutter to help Dipper’s toss win the stuffed creature of indeterminate species. If she travels back then , she isn’t on the roof to help dipper and he inexplicably injures Wendy again.
I mean.. she *was* waiting on Dipper to make the plan, which means she did waste a bit of time. She could just.. get Waddled earlier and *then* help Dipper.
Blendin appears in every episode before this one picking up stuff in the background.
Time baby is the giant time eating baby that the secret documents in “Irrational Treasure” where talking about that was frozen in a glacier.
I know Mabel can be selfish and things usually end up going her way, but I think she's in the right on this one. She got Waddles in the original timeline, but had to watch Pacifica take and mistreat the pig who was happy with her. However, I don't understand why they couldn't have tried again, travel to a little bit earlier in the day, get Waddles, and THEN Dipper could try to keep Wendy from dating Robbie. And I know that Robbie is horrible to Dipper but I think he would have done the same thing even if Robbie was a genuinely nice guy who Dipper knew would make Wendy happy.
Also, I was actually in Babe the Sheep Pig the play. I was a goose, and backstage was small, and all the sheep costumes made it very hot back there.
But could they arrive earlier. Is getting wa bbles and the baseball the first things they do at the fair. If they go back further then do the originals show up at the fair too?
@@TheKat12364 I'm not sure. Although I feel like if that were the case they would include something about that. Also, if that were the case, wouldn't the other Mabel have already gotten Waddles, barring Pacifica from getting him? And wouldn't Dipper not be able to keep redoing the throw, because he was already in the exact same place at the exact same time?
@@TheKat12364 I just got the thought that, why didn't they just do something to stop robbie from even being there? If he wasn't there to ask out Wendy, there wouldn't be a problem. Or maybe if they were able to go earlier they could just put some ice in a cooler really close by so Dipper could get it in time.
@kae9793 true yeah. Could play into Dippers over thinking that he only focuses on one way to fix it.
Yes! Finally they have met the true main character of the show, the beautiful, the adorable, the talented: Waddles!!
So, in the last episode, they took the time to read the long document about the Northwest's ancestor, which also references a giant baby with time powers, but they didn't make the connection when they saw Time Baby in this episode. Whooosh.
Glaciers never melt, huh.
They couldn’t just have Mabel go back because then she wouldn’t be there to help Dipper. You can’t coexist with your past self.
You noticed "Lolph," but I'm disappointed that you didn't seem to notice "Dundgren." :P
One of my favorite episodes! Not fond of the concept of having a pig for a pet, but I warmed up to Waddles. And a sad Mabel means a sad audience. Even I felt my heart breaking a little.
“And if you look to your left you’ll see Miserable Mabel; the girl who went bonkers after her dreams were shattered by some heartless jerk. Oh hi Dipper.” OUCH!
If you go back and watched past episodes, you can see Blendin in the background of some scenes.
"HEY, YOUR DAD SUCKS, GIVE ME THE PIG" like that would just work and be okay. Montana is awesome LOL
Fun Fact: Alex Hirsch, the creator of Gravity Falls has a twin sister who acts a lot like Mabel. She wears colourful sweaters, obsessed with boys and really wanted a pet pig.
17:27 well a new gravity falls book came out recently and it talks about Dipper overhearing an argument between their parents that he wasn’t supposed to hear. That’s why their parents sent them out to a sketchy relative. If the time traveller really did cause their parents to not meet but the twins are still here maybe the argument was about SOMEBODY NOT REALLY BEING THEIR DAD. Probably not but it’s fun to think about!
ah yes the time travel adventure. also WADDELS 🥰
He actually nudged him with his leg guys
This is a super fun episode, but I can't help but feel bad for Wendy and how many times she got hit. I know it works differently with time shenanigans, but it's still brutal.
Now go look for Blendin's appearances in previous episodes! :-)
The names of those time agents was an homage to Dolph Lundgren. The first letters were switched
Stan was married for one day to Eda (the same Eda from the Owl House), it happened in Vegas.
Nice to see you get the babe reference 😜
*canon event music plays* Miguel bursts into the screen: canon event is a canon event!
Best episode in the whole series imo. Maybe it’s because i watched this episode so much when it aired on tv lol
Yeah this is a good episode but best? Not even close
I love your guys' videos!
I found you because I was rewatching gravity falls and you popped up on my recommendations, I'm so glad I checked you out! I've watched the gravity falls episodes you put out and binged your owl house and she-ra videos! Currently in the process of watching your my hero academia reactions. I really love your commentary and thoughts on the characters! It's really cool to hear your thoughts on a character's mindset and all that stuff. And you can really see the effort y'all put in for these videos! From getting toph's va to do the patreon shout out to the little drawings of you two in the intro, personalised for each series, to the editing and even the effort of taking and answering questions at the end of your videos about the episodes. In my opinion this is really a reaction channel done right. Keep up the good work 💕
The future baby is clearly the baby melted from the glacier... Which we all know never melt, as disclosed by the secret document in the previous episode.
Mabel could have saved the dodos...
True.
Let’s gooooooooo
How can dipper and mabel be born with the absence of their true parents? Wouldn't that make them different people on a different timeline? And this timeline M&D wouldn't exist?
Blendin might have succeeded in making them un-exist; it is possible but would lead to a paradox wherein the future (wanting revenge) would influence the past (there'd be no one to get revenge on).
I’m kinda disappointed that you guys didn’t even look up the secret messages also the shorts are awesome

I recommend your next cartoon should be Regular Show one of the best
How did I just realize when they went back to the snowy Mystery Shack, THAT WASNT STAN? IT WAS FORD
IT WAS?! OMG!
I still stand by the fact that Mabel is the absolute worst character
You will never guess who voices waddles
Glad somebody else knows about "Babe" Shrek references the same line after he tricks Donkey to get across the bridge
7:26 🤣🤣 what are you guys talking bout
currently watching it premiere
So are you guys.
Great
If you know, you know @13:55
Can't wait for them to get further in the show
I missed the premier
I'm going to believe that you were in the chat talkin about how you just went back in time and then left this comment afterwards, because that would be comedy gold
rewatching gravity falls after wrapping it up is the most fun thing ever
because for example...
HUGE SPIOLER ⚠️
only then will you realize that the person in the snowy mystery shack scene isn't actually who you think he is .
Don't know what you're talkin about it's obviously Stanford Pines lol
@@noremac7216yeah actually true 😂
You could say he’s not what he seems
Dipper sacrificing his happiness for Mabel can actually be a problem if you consider one simple question: would Mabel do the same for Dipper? In this case, it was the right thing, but imagine if Dipper would sacrifice something that was really important for him because of Mabel. That's the thing about their dynamic. Mabel can be sweet and excitable, but she gets too much attached very easily and Waddles is an example of that and sometimes... that can come out a little bit selfish. And that's when Dipper's selflessness in sacrificing his own happiness for his sister can be perceived as a problem. You will see in future episodes how this kind of dynamic between the two twins can be toxic.
the "mabel is selfish" argument is tired
They're twelve. Kids at that age are usually a bit selfish, the only reason Dipper isn't like that as well is because he's more mature for his age, but he's still flawed in his own way. She's not an adult, there's plenty of time for her to learn.
@@notcha8080tired but so very true whatever someone likes it or not
13:55 Indeed . . .
You missed out the reaction of the upper rank Demons meeting from Demon Slayer Swordsmith Village arc. It is terrifying and also treat to the eyes and ears. Especially that Kokushibo's introduction is spine chilling.
they haven't reached the swordsmith village arc .. ?
@@satiramalek2572Maybe OP is talking about their reaction on Patreon, considering they're already watching the Swordsmith Village Arc there? But I still don't get it, because it's not like the Upper Moon meeting is a post credits scene, it's right there in the first episode.
