Not only is the flask not cheap it feels pretty flimsy on its own, while it's rigid enough for the occasional indoor drop and to leave on a desk and use it every now and again, but for it's intended purpose of portability and having the ability to carry your entire amibo collection with you i hated the idea of throwing it in my backpack along with my switch even though I did so while I waited for my acrylic shell to arrive. But once I got them and installed them it's amazing how much durability they add. Now I don't have to worry about dirt getting into it and now it feels like an actual premium peice of hardware. And the shells were super easy to install. Its a cheap addition that really buys my peace of mind. Thank you!
I love the idea of these kind of things, very cool :D I don't have a use for it cause I only got like 3 amiibos and I never play a game where I need them but it's very cool :D
You say it holds up to 75 NFCs. What exactly causes the limit? Storage is an obvious factor, but is there anything else, and can storage be upgraded at all?
Hey wermy could you make an update on the mintypi or make another batch of the 3.5? I'm asking because I got the v3 a long time ago and I broke the main board, but now that imp a lot older and have done research before hand I know what I did wrong and am confident that I would be able to build one.
Do you offer the model files for the acrylic side panel on your patreon? Unfortunately, the shipping from my country from your store is really bad - had experiences of lost parcels and atrocious transit time.
why? they would have no case it is a device that stores nfc codes there are ton of stuff that uses nfc what you as an individual choose to do with yours are up to you.
@@Bisen222 it is a device, that while its so purpose is to not transfer nfc data to a Switch, allows users to use downloaded illegal "roms" nfc info that can be used on a piece of their hardware. @bisen222 To the other extreme, but an example of, ua-cam.com/video/n8G7eq0GlQs/v-deo.html this video explains a huge leak of information, hardware and software info and lots more. This isn't cool until someone compiles and releases every amiibo code, and one of these devices so you can pop those codes on a MicroSD card and just make use of this.
I need one of these 😂 I bought the powersaves power tag but that only works with 1 rewritable amiibo with a pc app but this keeps them all with you, that’s dope!
Sounds interesting but honestly I have hundreds of these things and until he ups the amount you can save it's a pass. Be nice to have a MicroSD card slot so you can expand the memory
I just ordered mine :D can't wait to get it. I'm curious would you also sell me the Lasercutting files for the acrylic inserts? I would love to make my own ones :D
Well this is great, they are completely sold out! Also, nothing for nothing, but it's kind of difficult to drop 80 plus US dollars just for an NFC reader and writer. Writer. I get it though, stuff cost money to build!

I make my own amiibos with my iPhone but this is a really neat concept. Will there be models that can store more than 75 though?
bruh the plural of amiibo is amiibo

Hey werny, any chance you were looking to bring back/make another version of the mintypi?
Was going to ask this. Could helder produce another batch of the 3.5 or could you possibly announce a v4?
We’ll have something for mintyPi very soon!
@@wermy oooh! Looking forward to it!

Looks like it could be used for other NFC projects as well. What about a 3d printed case to protect it better from debris?
Late response, but they sell acrylic shells now for it!
I've been looking for one of these for ages :D
I do want one, what kind of sucks it doesn't hold all of the amiibo. I wonder if they'll upgrade the memory or whatever.
You say it holds up to 75 NFCs. What exactly causes the limit? Storage is an obvious factor, but is there anything else, and can storage be upgraded at all?
It stores the NFC tags in the memory of the chip used. It's limited by how much memory it has currently.
Buy 2 = 150 tags
Do you know or recommend a protective travel case for this Flask?
Now thats cool. Idk much about NFC tags but i thought Cellphones could also emulate being the tags besides be just the reader

Great idea, but you’d want to use a lot of Amiibo before you got back the initial asking price. Not saying it’s not worth it to some though.
Do you share the design files for this acrylic insert in your Patreon? I wanted to buy one but shipping is ridiculous to my country
Flask amiibo is got them imported to the UK on their site.
@@Doctortech1 the flask site has the design files?
This thing is sick, Thanks for letting us know about it!

Where can I get those joycons 😍
I have been given beta Access and firmware to use their now settings and I can use 80 amiibos because of it.
Do you have the files so we can cut our own acrylic shell or is it only for sale?
Need the get one. They're out of stock though.
I only see a UK currency, is it possible to get it in the US?🤔
Only 75? That's not all of my amiibos 😭
How are files stored on it? If all power is depleted will files be deleted?
Nope, if the power runs out, the files remain. You just charge it up again.
A better alternative is a puck js
emuiibo
Interesting
Aaaaaaaaand its sold out.

Cool I’m the first comment

It's very easy to Google these codes and download all of them as a zip file.

Great looking bit of kit, great channel too
I'm making one tomorrow. Thanks for the idea. We make NFC PCBs all the time. I just have to add a few Gigs and it's unlimited storage. Nice.
Hey, just saw this today, wondering if you were successful with it and would share how you did it
theres no more flasks ;.;
Thats so genius!! Awesome!
Also, I havent changed my pfp for this account for years lmfao I just thought about it. Ever since this specific MintyPi came out I had it as pfp XD

what parts have you used to make this? im trying to make something like this but don't know where to start.
Now to have an amiibo music player that plays the amiibos game music based on the character
A bit of acrylic that goes over the screen would be cool too
great work 💯👍
