Nice collection :). I’ve never read anything by Richard Matheson, but I have I am Legend in my library holds to try (hopefully soon). “The Twilight and Other Zones” looks interesting!
I don’t know how I missed this when it came out. Matheson is such a brilliant and important writer. The first video I ever watched from you was that I Am Legend video, I think.
Ahhh yeah videos can get missed all of the time - and I can imagine my videos don't appear on suggested feeds etc haha - but yeah I thought you'd like it. Since the video I've also bought "Bid Time Return" and "Now You See It". Thanks for the comment mate.
I don't know if you've noticed but we share more than a few tastes. 😉 I have a spare copy of yet another paperback edition of 'I Am Legend', which I'll add to that hardcover of Harlan Ellison's 'Shatterday', which I promised to send you. I also have a small pile of spare copies of Twilight Zone magazines. We'll have to compare notes, and see if you need any of them. I think I may have told you before that one of my biggest regrets was when I had a bunch of books sorted out to take to Loncon 2014, to get the great man to sign for me, only to have him tragically die not long before the convention. His son, Richard Christian Matheson is also a talented author. He very much followed in his father's footsteps, except that he didn't get such good shows to write screenplays for. If I remember correctly, RCM wrote scripts for B.J. and the Bear. 😆 I met the younger Richard a couple of times, the first being when we managed to get him as a guest at our local SF club, where he read, and chatted with around 10 people in the back room of a pub in Peterborough!
Love Matheson. The Shrinking Man and I Am Legend are both fantastic. I still need to read Stir of Echoes and Hell House. What Dreams May Come is an odd book; I have to admit that I actually prefer the screen adaptation over the novel.
hello everybody welcome back to the channel and welcome to the channel a 1st time. this is Library Tour😁😁😁 don't mind your videos content is very good😍
Great tour Gareth! I really enjoyed I Am Legend and The Shrinking Man last year, which took me completely by surprise. A Stir Of Echoes is a great film, my wife really loves it! I really want to read the novel. I would love to find a physical copy of Hell House, been on my tbr for ages. Oh Wow, I loved that film, and I miss Robin Williams. We lost a phenomenal actor, in my opinion. I vaguely remember The Twilight Zone as a teen, but to be honest, I was never invested. Tales from The Crypt and Creepshow was, on the other hand, awesome! He Is Legend looks very cool! I have a similar Ray Bradbury tribute book. Beautiful collection!
Thanks Cliff - yeah I love my collection and I've added to it since doing the video too - filled a couple more gaps. Glad you liked Shrinking Man and I AM Legend.
Somebody mentioned twilight zone, and like Beetlejuice..... I eventually reappeared.... (back in the 80s, any supernatural or weird character in pro wrestling was billed as being from "Parts Unknown", but my dream was to be one of those kind of characters, but I wanted to get famous enough that I could get billed as being "from the Twilight Zone". (to be honest, I don't think I would have been a good enough talker to have ever got to that level.)
Great Tour! Those Corgi covers are great. Can't wait for the Bradbury and Matheson bios from your channel as they're my favourite authors too.
Thanks so much - I'm doing a series on Bradbury - done 4 videos so far and there'll be one next month on The Illustrated Man.
I have a lot of those books. I admit I really like _7 Steps to Midnight_ and have read it several times. I get such a kick out of the ending.

Somewhere in Time is on Amazon in the US for $9.00! And it’s new! Published by Tor.
Since I filmed the video, I've got myself a copy now, but I appreciate the help. I've got a few more Matheson's since filming this actually....haha

That's a fair assessment of What Dreams May Come - it works a lot of the time, but it's not quite as gripping as some of his others.
