That Rolex is to die for. Drop dead gorgeous. - and to say that after seeing the two Patek's is definitely a statement in itself. Great video
These auction reports are beyond awesome. I could listen to this guy and the watch stories endlessly.
Understand... ;)
iv never worn or owned a watch, but after watching your videos i took an interest & started researching horology. I am now hooked! i no longer look at them as just watches, after seeing how much time, effort & skill is required to make those beautiful time pieces, they're works of art. Because of that i can now justify the price tag of a luxury watch, i hope to invest in my first piece soon. I really enjoyed listening to this man speak. keep up the good work.
Now that's a comment that makes me very very happy ;) and you really got it: works of art!
And I could listen to Mr. Bacs talk watches all day. He is a true, and passionate watch lover.
I cannot believe the "bao dai" ended up selling for $5 million CHF! Congratulations to the new owner, who must also feel like an emperor!
Yes, that was quite something!!!!
Excellent video! It is always a pleasure to listen to Aurel.
Just Love the description of the Patek & it's history. So true! My wonderful Father would only wear his pink gold Rolex Bubble Back on special occasions. I am priveledged to have inherited, not only his watch, but this view on what these incredible timepieces are: a reflection of what Humankind can create.
Amazing to see the timeless beauty of the Patek perpetual calendar.
That Rolex is stunning. Really great to see a close up of the watches going under the hammer..... so to speak. Thank you for doing this.
Very welcome and thanks
Really cool video, as always!
I really hope that Mr Bachs will be featured in a "Me, Myself & My watches" video, it's fascinating how he can grab the attention talking about watches.
Very very true!!!
6062 Bao Dai...no parallel. .superb ...nice video
Lovely and beautiful watch !! I love it !!
Fascinating video. Thank you.
just repeating what everyone else has said, really love your vids, great editing, great enthusiasm, great introduction, great ending, also agreat variery of what you show in your channel. It really fixes my craving for watches, keep up the good work!
Thanks for this very nice comment, makes us happy and charges us up with good energy for the future!!! All the best and don't hesitate to share the good words ;)
Thumbnail brought my interest luring me in... here again, last time the vintage Dayona's. This time I saw Rolex outer shell with PP moon phase dial... I have to come in to have a peek!!
Wow...now that's passion right there.I wonder what the Rolex will bring. Can't wait to hear the result.
Count on us to do a summary of all that will happen soon
this Rolex model is just so historical meaning. I do remember a Chinese emperor Guangxu in 18 century also a big fan of the Bovet watches.
I love patek philippe😍😍😍
Nice video
Keep on the good work
Carry on
So proud if any Vietnamese millionaire or billionaire willing to buy this watches. It our Vietnam history. I will if i have that much as 100 mil to buy this watches immediately.
Nice watch for sure!!!
Somehow seeing all these fantastic and rare watches makes me appreciate my own collection that much more, even if they are only worth a small fraction of these masterpieces!
Nice comment and it's indeed about one's own little pleasure.
Hello Marc Andre my name is Gary and im from Vancouver B.C. Canada I just want to say that you make the best watch making videos hands down. i was watching aurel bacs in an interview on a differnt channel and nothing competes to how professional you and your team are . keep up the good work
Thanks so much, makes us very happy and proud and we're just doing our stuff like watchmaking deserves to be treated in my honest opinion. All the very best to you
amazing watches... still find funny how one can put a watch in a safe and rarely use it. I remember back in the day that watches were worn only on Sundays!!!
And when you had to dress up nice to take the plane...
Marc,
This channel is awesome, keep up the great work; I just subscribed to this channel!
I really like the clock in the background on the shelf!
I have a Siffert (the Heuer shown on part 1) and really enjoy the watch.
Nice watch for sure and regarding the clock, it's a nixie clock made by artist Franck Buchwald and here a video we did about it if you want more info ua-cam.com/video/y-FVvLGPFno/v-deo.html Best to you
I like how he is not wearing any gloves and not trying to be all fancy about it
the watch goes up in value at the bare hands of Mr. Aurel Bacs! could listen to him all day!
He knows how to sell this watches. Amazing lots!
He sure does, but it's never the less always a pleasure!!!
The Bao Dai is what dreams are made of - I would take that over the Paul Newman any day.
thanks so much for that double report. Really beatifull watches. You are very very fortunate I envy you ;) (In a good way )
Thanks and am aware of this chance ;)
That nixie clock in the background is very nice.
I wonder when the interest in Nixie clocks started. Few people even seem to know what a Nixie tube is.
Frank Buchwald's original Nixie Machine, designed for M.A.D. Gallery, made in a limited edition of 12 pieces with original RFT Z568M nixie tubes.
I was hoping someone would inform us about that clock, thanks.
BTW, please also cover Sotheby's and Christie's auctions if possible.
Looking forward to seeing Marc showcasing with the PP cal. 89!! :)
Can you read into the future? ;)
Unfortunately not but I know you can my make it real my friend ;)
That's a fabulous rolex
Why the questions regarding the Breguet numerals? We see them on the 570, so this watch preceeded them, making this an unusual feature?
How is it that you cover everything better than everyone else?
Now I liked reading this ;) and the ingredients are: passion, respect, professionalism, enthusiasm and will to share!!! Many many thanks and best to you
I must agree, and no one covers these big important watches better than Marc and his team. Fabulous work TWTV. 👍🏻
2:45 why is that "very typical" for a dial to be lighter on the left compared with the right side of the dial?
Looks like the person explaining the watches has a rather interesting Nixie tube clock. Seems there's some interest in those, when did that interest start?
great!
Lovely
You know Rolex have another 100 Bao Dais at HQ.
Im all about modern watches, But these vintage Patek references are mind-blowing.
PS
How do you possibly make the bracelet for the ref 2497?
A rather good visual definition of intricacy!!!!
That PP 2497 brought 742,000 CHF.
Thank you so much for letting the common guy enjoy this ... 😄
You are most welcome!
Yes, I look forward to the day when I will walk into Rolex HQ and demand their most exclusive and most precious offering 😆
What is Aurel wearing on his wrist?
King Bảo Đại 😎
I said that Rolex is emperor status and then you said the emperor or Vietnam bought it! Crazy!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👌👌👌
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👌👌👌
All the watches stopped at 10 minutes after 10. What coincidence.
That’s the classical time set for pictures 😉
SOLD FOR $5M USD
The Rolex 6062 is pure watch porn 🤯
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Does this Rolex make a change in your mind regarding Rolex brand? 😉
I would understand...
"Bao dai reference"
From vietnam
Vintage watch bro could sell anything.
He's indeed really good ;)
Quel vendeur ce monsieur Bacs !
such peices to be worn so rarely is a major waste.
it bothers me how he handled those watches without gloves
A lot of museums etc. are moving away from using gloves when handling many items because the increased risk of dropping the item doesn't outweigh the small risk that brief handling of the item will lesson its condition.
True and these watches already have patina, but I get your point.
Exactly, handling 1.5M watch without gloves is somehow insulting
When a person buys a watch and never wears it, in my opinion he has too many watches and doesn’t know which to wear. He bought it because of a dream but couldn’t really afford to wear it.
That Boa Dai aint that special. 5 m. dollar for that watch is a disgrace.
Even if it was 1m $ you still cant buy it with your whole family money combine 😃
It is history and it is priceless....Poor bastard
Am i the only one who cringes a little that he doesn't use gloves?
