Could you use an aquarium to film the fly's performance? possibly in front of a grid so you can make measurements.
Maybe in the future, apartment living doesn't exactly allow enough room for that.

Not bad … the colors OK for some species, but I don’t like it for trout … pike, musky, Stripers Yes …Need the sizes and weights on these heads … you might have found a gold mine …
