Dear Dr. Ludwig: I don't know where you find these gems of songs, but...I love them. It gives me hope as a first generation American of German parents. They were young in Germany during WWII and told us many stories of their lives during that time. They immigrated to the US in 1958, and retired in Germany to live out their golden years. Why has freikorps been so popular lately? Ive been seeing it pop up quite a bit between you, sternau, and a few other people i follow. But ive only started hearing them this past few months
Catchy songs like Freikorp voran, cool aesthetics and after the 2020 events in the US and recent incidents in France combined with rampant decadence/corruption i think we are reminded a lot of the wiemar period.

Hey Dr. Ludwig, Thanks for another great Freikorps song, I have been listening to your music for about 3 years and was wondering how your channel copes with the strict " No hate speech and or Nazi promotion" protocols of UA-cam. Many songs have been disappearing that are German cause of those apparent reasons however most Soviet songs and others stay up, so I was just curious since some other songs you had such as Funkerlied and Erika have had to have been removed on this channel how you deal with it.
Also is there no pushback from any group of German youtubers so that you can post it. Cause what youtube does not realize is that nothing that derives from Nazism is original and the music just went more mainstream in Weltkreig Zwei? It just makes me question how there has not been anything done about it.
How UA-cam acted is highly illegal and super arrogant, as they do not even have a real support where you can talk to a person. The problem is in fact not UA-cam from California, but the headquarters in Hamburg, Germany. They work together with the Antonio Amadeu Stiftung, which is a leftradical organisation that wants to censor such songs and many other things. If you would sue UA-cam, you would probably win, but it costs a lot of time and money to do so for a single song and it would only count for your channel. That's why those songs get attacked on German channels, but foreign ones might be able to upload Erika etc. What we did is trial and error. We uploaded these songs and it took us years to find out exactly what causes a strike. Because UA-cam doesn't care about its creators and didn't just tell us with which songs they got a problem. However we know now quite well what causes a strike and what is safe. That's why our channels still exist^^ So the only way to change all that again would be a change in German society. But the mainstream is very woke now and they hate everything what we love.

The Freikorps were a right-wing militia in post-World War I Germany who fought against Communists and leftists within Germany, but the line "Heimat, weit und so fern" evokes soldiers fighting for their country in a foreign land. Could this have been a WWI soldiers' song later adopted by the Freikorps?

Is this really a Freikorps song? The Freikorps were a right-wing militia in post-World War I Germany who fought against Communists and leftists within Germany, but the line "Heimat, weit und so fern" evokes soldiers fighting for their country in a foreign land. Could this have been a WWI soldiers' song later adopted by the Freikorps?
The Freikorps also fought in the Baltic states, to which those songs usually refer:
"Diese Freikorps bekämpften im Auftrag des Rates der Volksbeauftragten und der Reichsregierung die linksradikalen Aufstände und sicherten die Grenzen im Osten des Deutschen Reiches. Sie kämpften 1919 auch im Baltikum mit zeitweiliger Unterstützung Großbritanniens gegen vordringende sowjetrussische Truppen sowie gegen die zuerst mit den Deutschen verbündeten Esten und Letten."
These Freikorps fought the radical left uprisings on behalf of the Council of People's Representatives and the Reich government and secured the borders in the east of the German Reich. In 1919 they also fought in the Baltic States, with temporary support from Great Britain, against advancing Soviet Russian troops and against the Estonians and Latvians, who were initially allied with the Germans.
