I also had the problem with interface settings resetting every time it was unpowered, but downgrading to Universal control version 3.6 and IO44 fw version 1.12 fixed it.
I am considering this for a headset (with microphone). There are not many interfaces with 3.5mm mic input and even with a good headset an equalizer would come handy. I am worryed about those noise and interference issues some people report when cranking the gain for dynamic microphones. If you do not need the headset mic input, I see no reason to prefer this over the io24. Do you?
I was about to go buy the studio one artist license for $99 but I noticed that if you buy a presonus interface it comes with a free copy of it. I’m trying to decide which one to get. I currently own a second gen focusrite solo. Would you recommend the revelator as a replacement? I’m trying to decide between the revelator 1024 which is on sale for 150, the studio 26c which is on sale for 180, and the audiobox96-25 which is 140. This is CAD btw. Thanks!
I've got the revelator io 24 as one of my main interfaces and I love it. Be careful on the interface you pick. I know some of the cheaper ones do not come with S1 Artist. It really just depends on how much i/o you need.
I cant believe you recommended a Scarlett G3 when the Audeint Evo series exist, They use the same Pres as the MOTU M series, cost less than the Scarletts, and have a 3y wty unlike MOTU. Quite temped by one of these on sale for $80, Very disappointing you made no ref to the effects processor, its the main thing that makes it different.
They are currently on sale at Sweetwater for $80 on cyber holiday week sale

having this problem now with standard UC, will try out UC version 3 hopefully it fixes it!
how do you install IO44 fw version 1.12?
Where is the pin for fix?

Can the XLR/1/4" input and 3.5mm stereo input be recorded simultaneously into a DAW? If so, can they be place on their own tracks (1 mono, 1 stereo)?

did you notice some preamp static noise? seems that many people had this issue on io24 and 44 too
I personally didn’t notice any.
@JoshuaWade Did you use it with condenser or dynamic mics? I think the noise issue is said to appear with high gain settings.
What do you use it for directly in the studio though joshua?
I was using it as my primary interface for recording solo artists. Mainly just vocals and acoustic guitar tracking separately of course.
@@joshuabutlermusic ok ok, I was wondering cause I have multiple small interfaces for different purposes.
Awesome Video, do you believe that it's still a solid interface after 1 year of use?
Unless video thanks
