Bad news. It's gonna be really difficult to put the heads on this thing. Unless you flip the whole bronco over. This has to be one of the most unique engine installs around... Just like a pineapple upside down cake without the pineapple or the cake. This must be part of a bigger plan, I'm guessing...Is this the start of your helicopter project?? Or is there a yard clean up beginning?? Maybe this is going for scrap?? or you had the install instructions for the engine up side down?? I heard your wife straighten you out when moving the boom too fast. Good for her to keep you in line LOL🤣 You can't keep us all in suspense forever...what's the plan Stan?? (580 engine sounds nice---someday)

Ford was having trouble with the Union a while back so they brought in Cirque du Soleil to do assembly. Nothing is practical or easy to work on. It's all Beautiful and Whimsical, as the French tend to do. Yes, to install the heads, it has to be upside down. It also has to be suspended in one of those giant hoops and spinning. Music from Benoît Jutras accompanies the procedure. It's pretty amazing to see it go down.
Mainly we're just getting some ducks in a row so we can plant that Ford Flathead engine on that IH Scout chassis. That Bronco engine is the original from our Bronco and it's rebuildable so I want to keep it but I needed it out of the way. We just shoved it in the engine bay of the parts rig so it'd be more or less protected. If this works out, and I'm hopeful that it will, it's going to be awesome. IH Scout 800 chassis, VW Beetle body, powered by a Ford Flathead.

@@heliarche With Jutras music anything is possible! It seems that there is indeed a symphony spirit to this rearrangement: a tap of the wand here and a tap of the wand there and Voila, it is rearranged.

I know it's america, but feels like a Russian video.

Definitely filmed in 1950s U.S.S.R...did you notice the vodka bottles everywhere?

Is it the old camera? The scattered debris? The general atmosphere of destitution?

@@heliarche It was the floppy excavator wheel that got me, but more that not a single thing in the video seemed to be in good shape.
Reminds me of my old place.

@@cyrex686Floppy wheel? I didn't notice it. Can you tell me which one and where it's at on the video? If something is coming off I need to know about it.
I pretty much get everything I own for dirt cheap or free. Sometimes I get paid to haul it out. If I can get it working decently that's good enough. I don't bother with how it looks.

@@heliarche Yeah, I had all free/cheap stuff back then too.
The front right wheel is on a weird angle at the start of the video. Maybe that's just the suspension?

He rolls it up nicely then tosses it down on the ground. Just the same way I roll up and store extension cords. It is so reassuring to have his wife there to catch little mistakes. I'm sure he appreciates all the tips.🤣

@@EverydayProjects Yea, every time she keeps me in line like that by catching those microscopic slip ups, it's an absolute joy!
