bless you , am going through the same thing and ive been looking all over the internet for someone to share his post op experience , pain , discomfort , range of motion through rehab experience , your video has been of great help :)
Thanks for this video, I've had 20 plus dislocations in the last 9 months from a zip lining accident. I am finally getting surgery in 2 days. I'm scared.. But this is helping me and making me feel better. Thank you for sharing.
It’s been 6 months, you should be completely healed and back to 100 percent now, congrats. What are your thoughts on the surgery 6 months out? I just had the surgery 6 days ago.
@@cardboardboxlover You had the laterjet surgery yesterday and you’re able to use a phone? Lol I was drugged up for two days straight. First two days were painful but on the third day I stopped taking all pain meds. I’m a month and a few weeks now and it’s going well. Still have to be careful (opening car doors and taking off shoes and stuff). But despite my PT’s request I’ve started fishing again. The only way I can really see myself hurting my shoulder right now is if I were to lift my arm over my head or behind my body suddenly. Still can’t sleep on my left side but besides that it’s all good. Let me know how it goes for you
How is your shoulder now? I hope you are back doing what you love! I also had 15-25 dislocations from tennis and other sports but I am still not sure if I want to do Latarjet...what is your opinion on the surgery since you had it?
i just had this procedure 6 days ago, my second operation, the first one was the Bankart procedure, man i hope its a success, i really want to get back to mountain biking, the thing with that is every once in a while you get into a wreck when your riding , im keeping my fingers crossed on this one.
Hey Luke, because of your videos, on 14.10.21 I will choose the latarjet procedure. I've got my right shoulder at least 30 shoulder dislocations by biking, and now is about time to fix it in Germany. I just hope the the surgeons will not come after party to my surgery 😉 tnx M8, you just made my day. cheers.
I had this surgery 18 days ago and it was fine, I didn't feel pain at all just some discomfort the first 2 days but that's it, I think the surgeon did a good job I just hope it's stable now and it won't dislocate again. Rehab is really long though. Btw you can take the sling off to do some passive movements and to shower.
Yeah rehab takes a while, but it’s for the better. My surgeon said I could take the sling off after 14 days to shower, but I still couldn’t really use the arm
@@Lukjerben yh I know, I dislocated it at the end of Feb got operated 3 weeks ago so my shoulder is stuck in a sling for 65 days. Did the surgery stabilise the shoulder?
Hey bro thanks for the video. I had the procedure done almost 14 months ago, i didn't do the greatest job rehabbing it at first but the last 4 month i start to, i've been going to the gym and lifting weights, probably more then i should, the last 2 weeks or so im getting a sharp pain at least once a day, it don't last long, maybe like 5 seconds or so, even if i'm not moving my arm, their just random shooting pains, do you experience this?
I mean it does take a while, there’s no doubt about that. I’m not sure he’ll be ready for next season, or he’ll have to really take it easy and see what he can or can’t do
Bro my shoulder feels like it is liitle bit loose when i fully relax my shoulder muscles it goes down by 1 cm and all this is happening even after 6 months of surgery. My doc told me to join gym and do shoulder exercise as muscles loose their tone . Pls help me i dont know with whom i should talk about it.
I’m getting the laterjet surgery in a few days. I’ve had numerous shoulder dislocations from boxing, and 2 failed arthroscopic labrum repair surgeries. How are you doing now? Able to continue your rugby career?

I don’t remember experiencing that, is the pain still present?
I’m getting ready to have that done man getting kinda nervous
Thank you! Your words really calmed me :)
I hope your fine now, and you play rugby again.
thanks a loot
Were you ever able to return to bench pressing?
thanx man you are my beacon now
Does The procedure deformed your pec? I mean, between your pec and your shoulder, is there a depression?
There hasn’t been for me, I can’t speak for everyone but the only part of my shoulder that looks different is the scar
Getting this done to resume my fighting career. How has it been ?
I now play rugby every weekend and have no issues with my shoulder, at all!
Appreciate you for this brother
Could you share the cost in France?
Also I know you just came back from the hospital, but those puppies are still sick!
I know, I should go back soon
Keep updating!

It took a little while for the pain to go away completely, but after 4/5 days it wasn’t bad at all.
