So true. I was 23 when ‘Nevermind’ released. Blew my mind! At 57, I listen to it more now than I did then. It means so much more to me now than it ever has.
I remember Vig saying years ago that Kurt hated having to overdub the beginning of Teen Spirit, he so wanted to nail it live. Same thing on double-tracking his voice on Nevermind. Kurt disliked it, but did it after Butch told him how much John Lennon did it with the Beatles.

Beato gets legends. Great channel. Interviews are very cool too. I find Vig fascinating
Nirvana grew on me. I became a fan around '94 after Unplugged
One of the best interviews yet
Bassman 100 is my secret weapon. Learned it from Jon Wahl from Claw Hammer. Absolute LEGEND
I wish I’d never changed my 80s rig : Bassman 100 and blackface Super in stereo.

I love the secret guitar track in Teen Spirit
Impossible to hear in the song but sounds so awesome in isolation
How could I isolate that track?
Link?
I'd love to hear steve albini background stories about In utero, imo their best album
I gotta be honest and say that the timing isn't weird on that clean part. It's literally in unison with the vocal rhythm and then it's on the beats

I always wanted a Vox AC 30 and a Boss DS1 because of Nirvana.

I thought kurt used a twin reverb before this video
@@noginzzz2679 the vox is only for the clean part, and the bassman only for overdubs

If someone got to get blessed, was Vig.
Yo Butch,I'm living in Verona since May,love this place
Great short insights here dude
Kurt got his guitar tone/sound from the same amp as Brian May of Queen.
So based off this I’ll just get myself an AC-30 for my next amp!
Its already been done
That makes the teen spirit demos make even more sense. Cause when he plays it while singing it’s completely off
Awesome interview! Very fascinating!! He should interview Flea next!
The slight delay on that makes that song great
this puts everything in perspective how “perfect” teen spirit is.
We love nerding out on these details. Daniel Lanois talks of microphone 'voice prints;' who, outside of studios ever heard of that?

Love seeing Butch in the making of Outside video with Joe Walsh while. Taylor freaks out. Am also a huge Garbage fan.
Oh to have a beer w/ Mr. Vig
Back in the day I actually tried singing and playing what I called the "doorbell" melody and ran into exactly that problem, the timing is very odd.
Smells Like Teen Spirit is still the last , best rock song released.
It's never been bettered. Not even close
He got the doo ding right on key too. Amazing musical ear and memory
Smashing Pumpkins originally had the guitar sound.
Knew that clean tone was on a vox
I would happily bet that 50% of all classic recorded guitar tracks were done with a Vox.

Oh my, thank you for saying it, it's hard to time those guitar and vocal parts together
Playing and singing at the same time , real tough.. lol
Dude he said the clean guitars for the vox AC 30 and then you asked him again what the clean guitar was?
God, people really have aged ten years over the past three.
Never got Nirvana. Still dumbfounded as to why they are so popular.
Total bs Kurt hated the second track and Butch put it in anyway. It's very audible, and not an improvement at all.
You don’t need to have a lot of skills to be a creative genius
True but they sure help
Every time I see this guy I do a double take and part of me thinks “David Spade looks old!”
That's a lot of work for something so simple...Kurt was not good
Why was it hard to play 2 quavers on best 2? Genius?
I never was that impressed with Kurt as a singer or a musician. Funny how he affirms that right at the beginning.
Where Did You Sleep Last Night didn't impress you?
