Deutz Fahr Crawler Tractor Overview | Crawler Tractors

In this video I walk around and talk about the Deutz Fahr 5080 Crawler Tractors. After showing the tractors I take the tractors for a drive in the lot. In the the near future I am planning to get some videos of these machines operating in an orchard or vineyard on the west coast as that is where the majority of these have been sold.

I think these crawlers are pretty useful at vineyards
and small farms with narrow fields.

New Holland has a crawler tractor too called the TK. That’s a neat tractor and the tracks give the tractor better stability.

Very interesting tractor, lots of great applications mentioned below. I wonder if they offer any type of a loader for that with a grapple. Granted, it looks like you wouldn’t need one of those if you had a compact track loader, however, CTLs don’t have three point hitches & PTOs. And those are pretty handy to have for some applications.

That is a neat machine. We have an Oliver OC-6 and I always enjoyed running that machine for row crop work. Would be neat if they made these in a wider guage instead of just narrow. Do you know if they use steering clutches to steer?

They should offer this with hydraulic track motors with pilot controls like a skid steer! It would be a lot easier to operate.

We had Oliver HG on farm back in the day. It worked okay but was underpowered and no hydraulics. I think the American tractors manufactures are missing the boat on that. Nice looking tractor, but if they could get 85-90 HP out of it that would be better.

@@farmhandmike I still don't understand how something that is not a permanent structure can be protection. Anything that has a folding mechanism seems to have a structural defect. That is why I do not think it is roll-over device.

Not necessarily, The cabs are installed here and Its probably waiting on a cab.
