44:25 This entire exchange between Superman and Magog is just impressive. The actors did their jobs; they sold their character's emotions well. I really feel for Magog in this moment. He didn't want to be number one, not like this.

The actor for Magog, Phil Corso, really helped us understand the character with his wonderful, nuanced performance. Magog is so easy to dismiss as a villainous show-off, but there's so much sadness there

Dang, didn't expect this to be this good. The voice actors do a fantastic job, aside from having a hard time visualizing some scenes. But when funny moments happen very little in the DC Universe, the actors make them stand out so much more in this story

+Cape Swoosh Productions You should hold a contest for your listeners. 100 dollar entry fee. Who ever wins gets an audiobook written about their life. So many people would want something like that. 100 contestants would bring in a good $10,000. It's one of those ideas that will either be a huge success or a complete failure. I don't see it landing anywhere in the middle.
If you end up getting rich from it, I want credit. If it fails, It was never my idea.

It's no Worm. JC McCrae really made me appreciate the effort to patch every single plot hole and seal every avenue when writing a tragedy. I can't help comparing every superhero genre story it now.

To which I must respond: does it need to be Worm? Look, I respect your admiration for Mr. McCrae (and I’m sorry if I’m offending you), but you’ve really got to stop comparing Worm to other superhero stories- not every one of them is made equal. To expect that every lump in the mine will be diamond instead of coal is frankly unhealthy, for both you and the artists making these works- for you because you’ll be actively ruining your enjoyment of said works because you just cannot settle for less when sometimes it is best, and for the artists because they’ll have to live under unrealistic standards and the desire to fulfill them when they haven’t either the experience or creative acumen to do so- it would be like forcing a child to play chess against a grandmaster.

    • @Terrakinetic

@@liansmith4038 Are you speaking to me personally? Or the Worm community in general? Because that's just my new benchmark, not in the quality of writing or character development, but in plot devices and continuity. And you're for the community, you're better off posting on Spacebattles or Sufficient Velocity.
And just between you and me? The real reason I post these comments is to continue to build awareness for Worm so I'll have more people to talk to about it. I am hoping someone will go, "Oh, what's Worm?" and go look it up.

We never got to find out anything about Tokyo Rose or 666 or Trix or Tusk or the new Black Canary or the new Mr Terrific, or Stars and Stripes or Von Bach or even that much about Magog himself. Dc should get on that and tell us more in a series or something.

Actually the very presentation of those characters was in itself a statement, such a loud statement that spoke volumes, which is the general language of almost all comic book characters. Moreover to further elaborate any further on any of those mentioned would defeat the purpose of the entire story, those characters level of dialogue and info of them served thier purpose exactly

It was a good audio-story, but they needed someone with a deeper voice for both Superman and Batman. When those two spoke, it sounded like fanboys playing with their action figures. Everybody in the audio story kept pronouncing Magog's name as "May-gog" but it's "Mah-gog". I own this two cassette audiobook, and I love the original graphic novels. My favorite DC story along with The Dark Knight Returns.

One of my favorite stories done in comics, and Ross's artwork is just amazing. This production does a VERY good job at bringing it to life. Loved the idea of Pastor McCray talking at a normal volume to reach Clark at the UN, though the comics showed it as him having to yell. "They won't forgive you for this Clark. Forgive yourself."

    WRONG.
This is NOT the audio production of KC. The voices used for Norman Mckay, Tokyo Rose, etc etc, were professionals and full on production w/professional sound. I don't know WHAT this is. Some cheap amateur upload

We don't claim this is the official audiobook; if you have a look at our channel you'll see we're some fans who enjoy voice over and comic books and love trying our hand at bringing them to life, if only in some small way. This is an early example of what we do, but boy, it sure was fun.

No it isn't. It's literally an Elseworld's Tale, IE, an alternate universe of What Ifs. I mean, there's being a normie, and then there's being a Normie with a capital N.

I've been wanting to hear this story for 20 years... couldn't afford the comic books when they were original. Very much disappointed at the entire story. Wonder Woman wound up being Wonder Wench. The extent of Luthor's team was never fully realized. Very weak story telling with a waste of Great Art. (

This is a horribly produced reading. No descriptive lines included, miscast actors, and an oblivious understanding of the difference between a comic book and a novel. A comic book can let pictures speak for it, but a book has to explain what you cant see. SO a comic audiobook with no pictures AND no explanations is essentially "guess that sound effect". Just awful.
